My 94-year-old mom fell twice early this morning and couldn’t get up the 2nd time. She was on Benadryl that made her groggy and has difficulty walking at the best of times. She called me at 3:00 AM, my time, by accident, while trying to call my sister, who was camping only 15 minutes away, (though there are no accidents with God–he enlisted me to pray). My mom lives in Arkansas.
So, I stayed in touch with everyone throughout the drama of paramedics getting her to the emergency room. Was still texting and waiting results for a CT scan after 7:00 AM this morning. My precious mom has a fractured rib and pelvis, and they found cancer under her left shoulder blade. She will be in rehab for 6 weeks, unable to walk, which means she will probably never walk again, or live alone. She is a redeemed soul and is okay with what the Lord has decreed.
So, happy Mother’s Day! Our mothers are certainly wonderful gifts from the Lord to our lives and hearts! I’m thankful I have had mine for almost 74 years!!!
