One very happy Hen! :)

It’s true! We have one very happy hen in the house. :) Any guesses as to why? ;) ♥

“Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.”
Nehemiah 9:6

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

    1. That is sooo true, Hope! I hadn’t even thought of it when I posted another bird picture! ;)
Oh yay! I can’t wait to hop over and take a look. Thank you! <3

  1. My first thought, as it is a verse that I have been pondering often lately:

““O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!”

How incredibly sad — especially in light of the tenderness of our Heavenly Father being compared to the preciousness of a picture such as this. :(

    1. Yes, a truly sobering verse. To think, we were once alienated from Christ and we too could be described just as Jesus spoke of Jerusalem, “you were not willing”. BUT “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” For those He has chosen and drawn to himself[Rom 8:30, Jer 31:3], those of us who have heard His voice and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ[Acts 16:31], He tenderly keeps us safely tucked in the shadow of His wings just like this mother hen with her 6 little chicks. They have no fear of present or future harm and no concern for want knowing she will be their protector and provider. It is in the shadow of His wing we can abide constantly and find complete rest and satisfaction[Ps 36:7, Ps 91:1]! :) Now it is our job to tell the lost and dying world of His saving grace and the rest we have found in the shadow of His wings! <3 (:

“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
      Ps 91:4

Thank you for your comment, Rebekah! It obviously got me excited! :D ;)

  2. Wow! Six! I thought that she only had three! She’ll definitely be kept busy with all those little babies to take care of! :)

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
