My Dad & me 23ish years ago… pretty sure I inherited my dad’s sense of adventure! ;)

6.8.13

“The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.”
Proverbs 20:7

My Dad:

SURVIVED 140 months {11.7 years} of pregnancy
Successfully taught 4 of his 13 children how to drive{and is still alive!}
Maintained a stable level of sanity in a house that holds 7 females{which is a miracle! ;)}
Can catch an armadillo with his bare hands{shortly after we found out armadillos carry leprosy, DO not attempt at home ;)}

30 years ago!! It’s hard to fathom all the Lord has done in and through my Dad in the last 30 years. If you would have told him at 18 years-old that this would be his future, I highly doubt he would have believed you…. Actually, I think he would have run the opposite direction… as quickly as possible! He had other plans way back then. :) But here we are… !!! 30 years ago my Dad began his journey of fatherhood at 18 years-old with 1 baby boy and here he is today, 30 years later with 14 children… by the grace of God alone! :) Phew, I am so glad The Lord didn’t allow him to follow through with his original plans of remaining single and living out of the back of his car at the beach! ;) It is hard to really understand the amount of sacrifice made by my Dad over the last 30 years or to explain to y’all what a blessing & example our Dad has been to us! BUT we are so extremely thankful for him and ALL the sacrifices he has made for each of us. I am reminded of John 15:13,”Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” My Dad has truly laid down his life for each one of his children… from the oldest to the youngest! And most importantly, I am thankful for God’s grace and salvation in my Dad’s life. AND after last week’s scare, we are SO thankful for the fact that God has given him more time on this earth to spend with us. :) I think it is safe to say that being his daughter has made my 23 years of life extraordinarily exciting in some extremely unique ways! ;) To my father who is really like no other, in honor of your 30 years of fatherhood, a 7 minute video of the last 30 years{revised from last year ;)}!!!!!

Happy Father’s Day DAD! We ❥ YOU!

“Blessed is every one who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.
When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the Lord.”
Psalm 128:1-4

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Could not watch or read this without tears of joy falling from my eyes…You all are probably even feeling more blessed today than you normally would after the miracle of last week. Again so many of your pictures took me back in time. I think I could find some identical photos of our lives in our old albums.

    Loved the music and scriptures throughout the video. Great job!

    By the way…I had a big surprise…my son and daughter and grand-daughter flew in to visit, and today all my children will be here with us for the first time in many years. Everyone knew about it, but me. Can you believe that they all pulled this off without me knowing? It was and is so much fun. Like a dream come true. Hallelujah!

    Rejoicing with you this Father’s Day and especially rejoicing in the greatest Father of all. His mercy and grace and love endures forever.

    1. Yes, we are all feeling extremely blessed after last weeks miracle!

  2. Great video ! Your family looks pretty awesome and it brought tear into my eyes just watching the joy in your dad’s eyes at every newborn he got to hold…What a joy must it be for y’all to have him after what you went through…And BTW, I love the 2 songs you used in this video. Could you please tell me who they are from ? Thank you very much !

    1. Thank you, Marie! :) The first song is ‘Be Thou My Vision’ by a singing group called Selah and the second is ‘I Will Praise Him Still’ by Fernando Ortega! Have a lovely day, Marie!
