Anyone up for a challenge?

I love blog challenges. Whether a 365 photo challenge or a challenge to express appreciation, they are so much fun to watch!
Which brings me to my challenge. I have been thinking over Psalm 119:11:

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

I sadly haven’t been as diligent as I should to memorize scripture lately and know there is no better time than now to start! :) So,  I decided to challenge myself to memorize 2 verses  day for the next month(and Lord willing, several months after).  Annnnd I thought why not encourage my fellow bloggers to join me!
I know, JULY is a super busy month for everybody! I am the busiest I have every been in my life at the moment (anniversaries, bdays, work, traveling,  and life in general) and was going to put this off until the fall. But all it requires is about 30 minutes once or twice a day and by the end of the month you will have 62 verses memorized, ready to use whenever needed! That is exciting!! If you would like to join in, leave a comment bellow or shoot me an email and we can hold each other accountable. Or you can do it without leaving a comment. If you don’t wont to join, well then I guess I will be held accountable by who ever happens across this post :)

P.S. Not necessary but if  you decide to join me, reblog-tweet-fb the challenge to encourage others to start memorizing too!  No need to link back to my blog. :)

P.S.S(or is it P.P.S. ? :) I know I am posting this a little late seeing July is already here (completely thought there was 31 days in June!) So if you want to join, jump in even if you have missed a few days or weeks. ;) Happy July!

“Preach the word; be diligent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
2 Timothy 4:2

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. I’ll join in… :) This will be really good for me, as I have really been neglecting scripture memorization. Thank you for the challenge! BTW…I found this blog, because I was looking for a link to the wonderful video you all did designing the cute little children’s clothing. Sage showed it to me and I wanted to share it with my other daughter Anna.

    1. Thank you for joining!! (: I am excited to see how the Lord uses this next month of memorization and hope it goes well for you!
Were you able to find the videos? I think the posts are a dozen or so posts down. :D Actually, links would be more helpful! Design & Handmade :)

  2. Thank you for the encouragement to take time to do this! Count me in! Where are you memorizing from?

    1. Yay! Glad you are joining us, Courtney!! :) I decided to memorize a few verses from a chapter in the Psalms this Week (Psalm 51) and then once I finish I plan to memorize Colossians 3. Not quite sure where I will go from there but I am sure a chapter will jump out at me! :)
Where will you start memorizing from?

  3. I’m in!! You should post everyday with the verses you memorized and give those participating a chance to leave theirs.

  4. Totally in :) I’ve ben wanting to do this, and accountability will help tremendously. Count me in!
Mind me asking how you’re going about choosing the verses? (I probably should start with ones left unfinished… yikes.) :)
Thanks for posting this. Glad to know I’m not alone in my fight to memorize, and fight it sure is.

    1. YES!!! Happy to have you join me in this challenge. And now we can hold each other accountable!
I am choosing chapters of the bible or portions of scripture that I have found extremely encouraging to myself and other believers or that will help with witnessing/spreading the message of Salvation! I have a lot of highlighted verses in my bible that I would also like to memorize.
I will be posting my verses daily on my blog and would love you to leave a comment with the scripture you have decided to memorize! It will be fun to see the different portion of scripture everyone chooses! :)

  5. Love this idea, Rachel! I’m in….even though I’m starting late. I definitely need to be more diligent about memorization. This will be like a jump start on that! Thank you!!!

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
