I have been thinking about HOPE lately. It has been on my mind so much today that I eagerly sat down this evening to read every verse I could find on hope! :) I have been thinking about the abundant mercy of our great God and the hope He has gives His children:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead“- 1 Peter 1:3-5.
In Romans 15:13 God is refereed to as the “God of Hope”! Doesn’t that fill you to overflowing with hope, joy, and excitement just reading?!? And if that isn’t exciting enough just read Jeremiah 29:11-13:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
Before the Lord saved me from my sins, I lived a hopeless life but upon salvation I was filled with hope, I became a child of the God of hope! He is our rock, and our fortress, and our deliverer; our God, our strength, in whom we will trust; our shield, and the horn of our salvation, and our high tower(Psalm 18:2). HE IS OUR HOPE. During trials, hardship, loss, during the good times and the… “not-so good times” :) we have hope because we serve the God of hope!! :) Not only do we have hope in this earthly dwelling but we have hope for all eternity! Praise the Lord :)
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”-Revelations 21:2-7
I am hopeful when I think about the future -whatever it may hold- because God knows the plans He has for me. I need not worry about tomorrow but rather abound in hope today(Romans 15:13)! What about you? Are you hopeful? :)
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:15-18
