I ran across a wonderful article last nigh that I wanted to share with y’all. I am going to post the link instead of the entire article but really really encourage you to read it! According to the Holy Word of God, where there is light there can be no darkness and where there is darkness there can be no light{1 John 1, 1 Peter 2:9}. What more can I say? The above pretty much sums it all up! :) I stand quite amazed by the beautiful truth this hymn holds as I look back over the years and I ponder His goodness toward me. I also have to wonder why 3 of the most beautiful verses of this hymn are left out of most hymnals!? :) Another week has come and gone, His strength has been sufficient, and He has proven Himself{once again} so faithful! He has been a Firm Foundation for His children, the Solid Rock{Ps 62:6}, our Sweet Refuge{Ps 34:8}, He has upheld us by HIS righteous omnipotent hand{Is 41:10}! We can go forward knowing that when fiery trials come, His grace, all sufficient, shall be our supply{1 cor 12:9}; the flame shall not hurt us; He only designs our dross to consume, and gold to refine{Is 48:10}. And when He calls us to go through deep waters, He will be with us, sanctifying us in our deepest distress{Heb 12:11}! He will not forsake us{Is 41:10}! :) “Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee aid”! It is true friends. He has done so for me. :) And if you wonder how this can be for you, seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him{Jer 29:13}! He is not willing that any should perish but that ALL should come to repentance{2 Peter 3:9}! :)

Well, almost a week without a post and images are piling up. Though my camera is still very much my “right hand”, it has been hard finding time to sit down and put together a blog post lately! :) The weather has been refreshingly “Fally” and there has been lots of work to do which makes very little time for the computer. But here I am, unable to get to sleep{most likely due to the deliciously large pieces of chocolate cake I ate} so I thought, “how about a throwing together a post with way too many pictures so I can get caught up?!” (: May this new week be filled to overflowing with the goodness of our great God. My prayer is that you all will delight yourselves in Him this week, seek HIM diligently, and “Declare His glory among the heathen; His marvellous works among all nations”! :) Happy Sunday y’all!

A beautifully blessed cold yet sunny Saturday afternoon, the Saturday chores are done, I am watching the little people while my parents enjoy an afternoon out, and the grand plan of baking comes to mind! It has been quite a while since I baked just for fun and find that the afternoon is free. So with my Camera handy, cupcakes chosen, and 2 little sisters eager to help we grab our aprons and get started! Baking is always sweeter when these two come to help. :) Plus their energy level always adds a bit of craziness & fun!

OH! MY! Oh my oh my oh my!! It’s my MOM’S birthday today!!! And even if I tried, I couldn’t explain to you how wonderful my mom is! :) I could try to tell you how she can organize the most cluttered spaces{organization is her gift!}, teach 9 kids at once{while catering to each child’s individual needs}, keep a large household running smoothly{that is a feat!}, continually has the laundry cleaned and neatly folded, or how she makes the world’s best chocolate cake{it’s pretty terrific!}, how she has delivered 14 children{8 of them AT HOME!}, designed an impressive diaper bag, how she can make a math/science/life/spiritual lesson out of most any circumstance, how she’s the greatest seamstress I have yet to see { makes the sweetest pillow case dresses for the little girls. Honestly, they are irresistibly adorable!}, or how she is the 2nd stabilizing force in our family{*first being my Dad, of course ;)} but all these wouldn’t scratch the surface… HONESTLY! I sit here trying to think of a word to describe my mom but instead a couple of verses coming to mind :) :) :

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”
Proverbs 31:27-29

Needless to say, I am so thankful for all the years of life the Lord has given her and extremely blessed to have her as my MOTHER!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! :D

And since biblically these 2 are 1, I thought it only fitting they both get birthday pictures today!! ;)

This is the day that organic beauty will hit my blog like never before…. Big brown eyes and the most gorgeous set of freckles… Yes, it’s true, Ruthanna-Banana is 12 years old today! :D How did the years pass so swiftly, I truly don’t know??! But here we are and she is all grown up! :) Ruth is well-known for her outstanding artistry in our house but her talents definitely don’t stop there!! Master of cartwheels, baker of banana-nut muffins, tree climber, baby-watcher, Popcorn-popper, beanie-bag maker, and official cat whisperer! ;) Plus if you need someone to cheer you up, go to Ruth!

Future Plans for Ruthie? Well, you don’t have to ask twice! She has made her future plans quite clear lately actually. Besides starting a cat farm with at least a few dozen fury felines and training them to do a circus act while spoiling them on kitty treats, she has decided to get married and have solid 28 children! And yes, she has them all named. Buuuut she has emphatically decided to wait until 30 to accept any proposals{shes a very practical, decisive young lady if you haven’t already noticed!} So sorry, I am not accepting any applications for this beauty at this time. Try back in about 18 years! ;) I look forward to seeing where the Lord takes Ruth but for today I am super thankful she is here with me and ITS HER BIRTHDAY!!!

Of Chili, fall, and rejoicing | A Random Post :)

The chili is on the stove top boiling{filling the house with a rather delightful aroma}, the jalapeno are stuffed, the little people just left for a walk with my dad, and dinner isn’t for another hour so I thought “why not a random post”?! :) Plus I am miraculously getting internet connection in a room that doesn’t usually have it so it must be providential!! ;) {posting may be delayed do to the fact I forgot to steam the rice}. Yes, I do love fall evenings at home!! Today was only a half-work day and I was able to come home and kid-sit Emmi & Bekah for the remainder of the afternoon while my parents got some work done. Enjoyed sunshine, very cool weather, and two crazy girls! It was a wonderfully blessed Fall afternoon. :)

Today I was reminded of Habakuk 3:17-18 by my Kansas friend{THANK YOU!! :)} It is so extremely easy to rejoice and be joyful when everything is going “grand” but what about when the “fig tree” doesn’t blossom? “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” This is something the Lord is teaching me to do this last year. Thankfully He is very longsuffering ’cause I am a very very slow learner! ;) So today, I want to encourage y’all to rejoice in whatever circumstance you are in and take joy in where He has you right now! He is your strength! Andddddd continue to seek HIM diligently. I am reminded in Psalm 9:10 that the Lord has not forsaken those who seek HIM! I am amazed at His goodness and constitutionally reminded of Nahum 1:3{a favorite verse} “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” Now I’m off to eat dinner! Y’all enjoy your fall evening. :)

Well, the little girl in the piggy-tails turned 2 today! :) She entered the world quite the little prickly pear and to all of our surprise she was a GIRL!! We all expected a boy. :) 2 years later here she is, with more hair than had by the time I was 9 and the most lovable little lady around! She keeps everyone laughing with her quirky sense of humor and irresistible cuteness. And to top it all off, she has more energy than 10 2 year-olds put together!! :)

Future plans for our favorite 2 year-old? Well, her plans don’t go past this evening which entails eating pizza, “cupcones”{icecream cones}, and perhaps a midnight snack of popcorn! :) Sounds pretty fantastic to me! I think it is safe to say we all love her to pieces and are sooooo thankful to the Lord for giving us Emmaus Evangeline!! :) happy birthday, Emmi!
