A Thanksgiving Day Recap full of Thanksgiving ;)
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:21-26
The above verses have been on my mind quite a bit this week! His compassion never fails, His mercies are new every morning, and He is good to those who seek HIM. We have such HOPE, don’t we?! And then I was reminded of Psalm 107:21, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” Beautiful, isn’t it? “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so” {Ps 107:2}. He has brought us “out of darkness and the shadow of death”, “He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.” Let us “sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.” :) And on top of our Salvation, He “daily loadeth us with benefits“{Ps 68:19}!! We have so much to give thanks for! (: I am so thankful! For the great gift of Salvation, for the daily blessings and benefits He showers upon me, for the parents He has given me, sister and brothers that surround me, and for all you all who encourage me with comments.emails.kindness! :) :)
Alrighty! Time for a Thanksgiving photo roundup for y’all! :) When it comes to holidays, I tend to revert back to a child-like state and almost die from uncontrollable anticipation as I not-so-patiently wait for the day! ;) Usually by the time everybody in the house picks a dish to make we have quite a feast! Yes, I ate way too much and enjoyed every bite! ;) Pies{my Mom’s cranberry pie was the best!} and Puddings and turkey and stuffing{made by Dad=fantastic!} and rolls and sweet potato casserole and , yes, even a green bean casserole{because you can’t call it Thanksgiving without one!} We, obviously, are still enjoying the leftovers. :) Thankfully even the guys chipped in on the cooking and everyone had fun in the kitchen! How was YOUR thanksgiving?
Just a few random pictures from our day. :) Hover for description!
“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”
Psalm 34:3
Best of friends for longer than I can remember || Happy Birthday Micah!
Well, where do you start when it comes to your favorite, most beautiful, most talented, older sister? Honestly… I don’t even know?! Micah’s glowing outward beauty is only a minor reflection of her inward beauty, her baking skills put the most trained baker to shame, and her job as a seamstress is past the point of perfection! She makes the world’s best breakfast, her sense of style is classy, her godly example is always encouraging, diligence and perseverance in the work the Lord has given her is inspiring, AND today she turns 27 years-young!! (:
Yes, best of friends for longer than I can remember, yet complete opposites by nature, we tend to go together like peanut butter & jelly! ;) Of course she is the jelly ’cause she’s sweeter and I am the peanut butter because I tend to be a little more… nutty. ;) I would try to invent or theorize her future plans but how does one do that for her older sister? :) PLUS God’s plan is so much more fantastic than anything I could make-up. I can tell you My prayer for her is Psalm 20:4 “May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose.” One day I might have to say goodbye to my sweet jelly of a sister {perhaps whenever prince charming comes riding up on his stallion… sorry, not accepting future-husband applications but y’all are more than welcome to contact my Dad if you’re looking to apply ;)}, but for now I am EXTREMELY thankful she is here, right where she is meant to be and its HER BIRTHDAY! :)
So blessed to have you as my sister! Happiest of Birthdays to you, Micah!!
“May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.”
Psalm 20:4
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26
The Natives are Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.”
Psalm 107:15-16
Happy Thanksgiving from the Natives and me! :) Thanking the Lord for all His abundant blessings & mercies!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes & gravy have nary a lump,
May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs.
Lord willing, I will have a Thanksgiving day photo round-up posted sometime this weekend! :) If y’all are anything like my family, Thanksgiving usually lasts all week. ;) Lots of baking/food pictures and too much fun was had today. I feel extremely blessed and thank the LORD for HIS goodness toward me!
” Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.”
Psalm 107:21-22
Turkey Hunting!!
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22
Yes, it’s that time of year again! With Thanksgiving only a 2 days away, I thought it was about time to go turkey hunting! So Micah, Grace, Lydia, Ruth, and I suited-up and braved the cold wet weather to catch ourselves a Thanksgiving turkey! Being the skilled hunters we are, Micah and I were extremely successful! Both bringing in 13 pounders! ;) Turkey hunting tips for y’all, always start out the day with a well-balanced breakfast to keep alert while waiting for the perfect turkey to cross your path{donuts for example! ;)} and watch out for the other hunters out there…. they tend to get a little competitive around the canned pumpkin aisle…. Seriously, grocery carts can be dangerous. ;)
Okay, so this is as close to hunting as the ladies in my family get! :) Our annual Girl’s Thanksgiving Grocery shopping trip made complete with 3 shopping carts, busy grocery stores, crazy crowds, 15 pounds of butter, and donuts. All captured via the iPhone! ;) For those of you who truly do hunt, way to go! For those like me who went to the grocery store this week and made it out alive, congratulations!!! ;) Happy baking!!
“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Psalm 107:1
This rugged lumberjack turns 16 today!
Oh my! Well, never in my life did I imagine I would have such a handsome rugged lumberjack for a little{err big} brother!! At 6′ 2″ Gideon towers us all but please don’t let his big burly exterior and immeasurable strength intimidate you ’cause underneath that flannel top and muscle is a loveable hug-able teddy bear who just happens to have a rather extensive knowledge of all things history{honestly, his a walking encyclopedia}! ;) Plus he has proved that real men wear aprons! On top of his muscle, strength, vast knowledge, and super sensitive side, TODAY IS HIS BIRTHDAY!!
Future plans for Gideon? I am SOOOO glad you asked. ;) You see, I am pretty sure I have it all figured out for him! After becoming the world’s greatest gunsmith here in a few years{of course finishing his formal education beforehand is a must ;)}, he will ride off to Montana, buy a few hundred acres where he can cut down all the trees his big heart desires, build himself a cabin with his own two hands, and then someday in the {near or far} future he will find himself a little lady{if your looking to apply for the position you’re welcome to send over your application HERE ! ;)} who shares his infinity for all things war-history and gunsmithing!! Together they will raise a few hundred chickens and a handful of little lumberjacks! ;D Okay, so only the Lord knows what my extremely handsome brother’s future holds and I am super excited to see what is in store for Gideon!
Happiest of Birthdays to you, Gideon! Thankful your my little{big}BROTHER!
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:1-3
And though I had half a dozen super cute and somewhat embarrassing pictures of Gideon from days gone by I wanted to post, I decided to be nice and stick with the below. ;)
“ The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26
I shall not want | A random post for y’all ;)
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalm 23:1
Blogging has been a bit random and unpredictable lately due to work and craziness but I wanted to take a quick break in the wee hours of the morning to ask y’all a question. What is your portion? Where/who are your hopes and expectation aimed towards? I have to say my heart rejoices when I read Psalm 23:1 and the truth it contains! Though one day{if the Lord wills, prayerfully} I very much hope to marry, yes it will be a huge blessing, but I won’t fully find contentment in marriage. One day I would love to travel to uncharted territories{okay, so Maine is considered uncharted to me ;)} but becoming a world traveler won’t satisfy me. “The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.” {Lam 3:24} In Christ alone we will find our Portion{Ps 119:57}, our Hope{Ps 62:5}, our satisfaction, and in Him alone will we have our expectations met. He “satisfies the longing soul”{Ps 107:9} He alone offers that perfect peace{Is 26:3}, He promises to meet ALL our needs{Phil 4:19}, and leave us without want{Ps 23:1}!! :) Hope in the Lord, trust in Him at all times{Ps 62:8}, seek HIM diligently{Prov 8:7}, and love Him with all your heart{Matt 22:37}. I am reminded of Proverbs 4:25 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” I want to encourage you all to keep your heart with ALL diligence set steadfast on the Lord and continue pressing toward the mark{Phil 3:14}. He is our portion! “The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.” {Ps 16:5} The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want! :)
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
Psalm 23:6
The trees of the field shall clap their hands | Autumn
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it…
Isaiah 55:12-56:2
Plans Change! :) {afternoon randomness}
‘Cause sometimes plans change! :) Started out the day with a large grocery list in hand, heading to the grocery store to do the grocery shopping{tennis shoes on because grocery stores tend to be a little crazy this time of year ;-)} but, after a random and unexpected change of plans, I ended up home, kidsitting two crazy girls{who happen to have way more energy than I do}, enjoying the beautiful weather with a walk, doing a few dishes, and eating bananas! ;) Yes, in life plans change. Sometimes they are small changes and sometimes HUGE, and in my house they usually change in a split second. Today I am extremely thankful that “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD determines his steps”
{Proverbs 16:9} (: A simple reminder to:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength”
Isaiah 26:4
Would we do more? | The Sound of Abortion
“Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.”
Psalm 106:37-38
“Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.”
Psalm 82:3-4
{I break for a sobering thought for this evening.}
If we could feel the pain their little bodies endure and hear their little cries for help, would we do more? If we could see their little hands, their feet, and feel their heartbeat, would we do more? If we really understood the sanctity of life, would we do more? If the babies were our own… would we do more? Do we truly believe the unborn child deserves the same protection and defense as those babies who are outside of the womb? Tomorrow the abortion clinics will open in the USA and approximately 3,600 babies will be brutally murdered in what should be the safety of their mother’s womb. Some will be partially born before they are killed. The thought I have for myself tonight is, “If this was your own baby, would you do more to stop this slaughter”? Abortion is 9/11 everyday. It is the Holocaust 10 times over and counting. “…but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.” Daniel 11:32 My prayer this evening is that the Lord would raise up god-fearing men who will take action and “Rescue the weak”{Ps 82:4}. May the Lord have mercy!
“Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.”
Isaiah 1:17

Isaiah 55:12
The breeze is cool this cloudy day, the smell of fall is in the air, and underfoot crisp leaves brilliantly crunch with each step! the roosters are crowing and the loud clucking from the hens announce that there are eggs to collect! A trip to the coop is in order with the little people. :)
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse”
Romans 1:20
‘Cause sometimes cloudy Sundays call for…
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.”
Psalm 84:5
‘Cause sometimes cloudy Sundays call for crazy girls in crazier outfits, overly enjoyable walks outdoors, piggy-back rides, afternoon naps, and BAKING!!! :) New{old} recipe on the cooking blog this evening! Pilgrim pies over at Granola Girl Bakes! :)
“Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.”
Psalm 86:11
a special visitor, lots of coffee, and too many pictures | an extremely random post! :)
If you are reading this than, by the grace of God, you have made it to another Saturday and through another week! Depending on who you are, your heart has beat around 604,800 times, pumping 2,000 gallons of blood per day to about 60,000 miles of branching blood vessels. If you ask me that is nothing short of a miracle and definitely something to praise the Lord for!! :)
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
Psalm 139:14
Well, I have quite a few pictures to catch-up on and debated on whether to do several small posts or just one large post…. finally decided to do one large post and just label it “random”! ;) As we get closer and closer to the holiday season, our businesses get busier and free time to blog randomly becomes less and less. BUT I found myself in a rather large and comfy sweater tonight with a cup of coffee by my side, the little girls have had their bath, I just finished scooping half a dozen ice-cream cones for the natives, and now the evening is FREE! So, Lord willing, there will be a new post with a way too many photos! ;) We have so much to be thankful for! Each new day is filled to overflowing with such tremendous blessing from the Lord that we so often overlook{even just another heartbeat is a huge gift from God}! This week so many thanksgivings come to mind but for this post I am thankful for…. drum-roll pleeeeaaasssee…. ;) First and foremost for the call of Christ to follow Him! What a tremendously powerful call and what an Awesome Savior{Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified-Romans 8:30}! And all those little things that make this week all the sweeter: My grandpa coming to visit{all the way from Missouri!}, a new favorite coffee brand{Church & State Coffee! Pro-Life supporting goodness. ;)}, sweet siblings{Abel bought me a croissant and lifesaver gummies. Completely made my day life! Thanks Abel!!:)} beautiful fall days and Garnet red leaves{fall colors are finally starting to explode here!}, caramel lattes with nutmeg, when little sisters pile their baby dolls on me and tell me I’m baby sitting my “nieces”{it was too funny!}, dishes{Honestly, since the dish washer broke I found a new love for doing sink loads of dishes! ;)}, donut runs with sisters{I ♥ donuts!}, and a whole lot of work!!
What are you thankful for this week? :)

And they immediately left their nets, and followed Him….
“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him.”
Matthew 4:18-20
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Matthew 16:24-26
