They say good men are hard to find, I know this to be true.
But I hunted far & wide, And found one just for you.
He is no good at d.i.y, He cannot fix the car.
But his socks are never smelly, & he doesn’t stray too far.
He always listens patiently, He won’t give you any grief.
& if you get fed up of him, Bite off his head for instant relief…
Cookie Baking and Card Making || To give light to them that sit in darkness
“Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1:78-79
I have been so blessed by the above verses this week! Through the tender mercy of our God… How humbling is that!? He truly does guide our feet unto the way of peace. I am reminded of Ephesians 5:14, “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.“ Isn’t there so much beauty wrapped up int that verse? I can hardly contain the joy that wells-up inside when I read it. Praise God for His goodness toward us “in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.“[Rom 5:8!] Salvation truly belongs to the Lord[Ps 3:8]! :)
Well, it is time to catch-up on photos! :) This has been quite a month for us. Mostly work has filled our days but God has also been gracious to give us other projects to lay our hands to! Our choir has ended for the season[we had so much fun!], holiday shipping deadlines have been met for our businesses[thank the Lord!], and we were so thankful for time to prepare cookie boxes for neighbors and finish our Christmas cards!! This is something my family does every year and we all like to work together on cookie prep and card making as it is a wonderful time to spend together and always a ton of fun! God was good to give the time, resources, and lots of helping hands to get the jobs done! :) So, several pictures from our fun-filled cookie making and card creating! Enjoy. :) P.S. did y’all know cookie was actually spelt cooky until the until the mid-20th century?! Random fact to take along with you. ;) Have a wonderful weekend y’all!
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 4:6
Randomness from Family Pictures :)
The day finally arrived! After much wardrobe choosing and weather checking we finally took an afternoon, set up the tripod plus remote, snapped a few hundred pictures and ended up with 1 that worked! :D That is how it goes with big families. Hard to get everyone happily looking at the camera all at once! ;) The Lord provided perfectly overcast warm weather and a picture worth printing. We are always so thankful to have the photos finished and ready to print!! Seeing everyone is dressed up, I always like to take advantage of the moment and photograph anybody who will let me :) and Joel kindly snapped a few of us girls together plus a new photo for my “about” page(thank you, Joel! ) But since Christmas cards have yet to go out with our new family picture inside, y’all will have to wait to see our 2014 family photo until Christmas. Until then, a few random pictures from our Family photo session!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.”
Psalms 104:1
Always merciful…
“God never witholds from His child that which His love and wisdom call good. God’s refusals are always merciful — “severe mercies” at times but mercies all the same. God never denies us our hearts desire except to give us something better.”― Elisabeth Elliot
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
Psalm 84:11
“The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.”
Nahum 1:3
What I’ve been up to lately! || A wee bit of randomness :)
Here, there, and everywhere! Seems like that is where I have been the last few weeks. ;) We have been tremendously blessed with a season[or two;] of busy-ness here! My normal overly frequent random posts have become spontaneously random. ;) But here I am, Christmas music is playing in the background, the house is super quiet[with exception to a little girl who fell asleep at the dinner table and decided midnight was time to wake up ;], and I am happily finding a free moment before midnight to say, “HELLO” to y’all *waves frantically*! :D Life lately has consisted of long work days, spontaneous Hobby Lobby trips, flea market finds[vintage camera bag!!], cookie box prep, card making, lots of baking, winter gardening, and a few photoshoots! :) Phew, have I mentioned it’s been busy around here?!?! ;) I am reminded all the more of where my strength comes from during these super busy seasons. Psalm 28:7, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” How merciful God is in every second of the day and how much I need His strength. He is our strength and at the same time we can only find true rest in the Lord[Matt 11:28]! What hope I have in Christ and how hopeless I would be without Him[Lam 3:24]! God is good! :) “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.”
So, how about some randomness via the iphone and a few from my camera? It’s time to catch up! As always, hover for descriptions. :) *waves goodbye*… I obviously need to sleep! ;)
*Side note: anybody has a helpful tip as to how to get my wordpress galleries to align center pretty PLEASE leave a comment and let me know! :)
“The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.”

Happiest of birthdays to…
´*•.¸Cue virtual confetti¸.•*´ Today is the day!! Master of muffins[and she can make a pretty mouth-watering omelet!], maker of all things cuteness, coffee connoisseur, veteran model[LOVE taking her pictures] ;), entrepreneur, and pioneer SAHD[inside joke] ;), Micah happens to be my favorite most beautiful older sister and today it is her BIRTHDAY! She can up-cycle anything into something worth having, she can play the piano with passion, and is a genius when it comes to hair styling. Best of friends for longer than I can remember, yet complete opposites by nature, we go together like peanut butter & jelly[she is the jelly ’cause she’s sweeter and I am the peanut butter because I tend to be a little more… nutty. ]! ;) Happiest of birthdays to my lovely sister, Micah!! :) I am so thankful for your encouragement and faithful friendship over the years and I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for your future! May this year be filled to overflowing with goodness as you serve the Lord!! :) Leave Micah some birthday happiness with a comment!!

And give you peace.”’

The Natives are wishing you a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :)
Y’all, it happens to be my favorite holiday! Turkeys were roasted and pies baked, thankful turkeys were crafted, and then we ate. ;) Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving! So much to be thankful for ever single second of the day. Every breath breathed and every beat of the heart is such a tremendous blessing. I am reminded of Psalm 107:8-9, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” So thankful for God’s goodness toward me. And I am thankful for you all! :) Happy Thanksgiving!!
“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.”
Psalm 107:15-16
Side note: Nathanael made his costume from SCRATCH! Pretty impressive!!
“I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.”
Psalm 13:6
The day the little girl in hat dream came true! :)
The day finally arrived! The little girl in the pink hat was about to have her wildest dreams come true. She was about to come face-to-face with a real live horse! Anticipation built and the excitement was almost too much to bear as she waited and waited to leave. ;) Everyone wore something “cowboyish” for the occasion[yes, even I put on a plaid shirt to show my appreciation for cow-people ;], we loaded ourselves up the big family bus, and we were off. Of course, a coffee stop was necessary because y’all know you can’t see a horse without a cup of coffee[or so I told her. ;] Finally and truly the little girl in the pink hat saw the horse and then touched the horse and then SAT ON THE HORSE! :) The day far surpassed the little girl’s expectations and she will never forget the day she came face-to-face with “Gypsy” the Pinto horse. ;) Our trip to the Annual Western Showcase in pictures!
“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.”
Psalm 92:1-5
Happy Happy Birthday…
♩♪♫♬ Happy birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! you look a…. ♩♪♫♬ Ahem! ;) Y’all, this guy turns 17 today!! Not only does he have a fantastic smile, he has a laugh to match. ;) On top of his muscle, strength, vast knowledge, and rugged good looks, he has a super sensitive side! Never does a door go unopened or a heavy package get lifted by a woman in his presence. He’s quite a guy! :) To my walking encyclopedia, person body-guard, history buff, 6 foot 2 of a [not so] little brother HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So blessed to have you as my brother and hope the days ahead abundantly blessed as you serve the Lord!
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Psalm 1:1-2
Alive and kicking ;)
Well, my brother informed me I hadn’t been a regular at posting anything lately and he thought perhaps I should let y’all know I am still alive and kicking!! ;) Busy days lately have kept me literally moving non-stop and I am so thankful for the hard work to put my hands to BUT I have so many random pictures and a new recipe[as long as I can snap a picture of the end product before it’s completely consumed ;] to share with you all! Don’t stop stopping by to see if there is a new post! Lord willing, I will get posting pretty soon. Plus Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I can hardly wait!! Anyone else as excited as I am?!? We have so much to be thankful for! :) Until next time I leave y’all with one of my sister’s outrageously cute drawings she gave me this morning. Obviously I am not the only one in my house looking forward to Thanksgiving day! ;) And because I love asking, what is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? :)
“Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.”
Psalm 70:4
Fall finally arrives!
My heart shall rejoice….
Sweet are Thy messengers, sweet their refrain…
I am always surprised to find some of the most beautiful verses in hymns left out of many hymnals! One of my favorite verses:
Let sorrow do its work, come grief or pain;
Sweet are Thy messengers, sweet their refrain,
When they can sing with me: More love, O Christ, to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!
Then shall my latest breath whisper Thy praise;
This be the parting cry my heart shall raise;
This still its prayer shall be: More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!
“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Romans 5:3-5
What are you waiting for? || it’s time for a random post
“I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.”
More than those who wait for the morning! :) “Wait” tends to be a bad word, doesn’t it? It’s definitely not the easiest thing to do! Most all of us are waiting for something and in all honesty waiting doesn’t come naturally to me [I prefer moving full force forward with enough energy to move a mountain! ;] So, what are you waiting for? :) We so often turn our affections [or waiting] toward things, seasons of life, or people and those things we wait for we tend to put our hope in[Matt 6:21]. If you skip over to the Webster’s dictionary you will find 2 very beautiful definitions to the word “wait”. 1.) to remain in a state in which you expect or hope and 2.) to serve, to attend as a servant. :) Quite beautiful definitions aren’t they?! So, what are you waiting for? :) Who are you placing your hope in? Who are you truly serving? “I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.“ There is a need to daily set our affection[at least for me there is;], our hope, our sight on the Lord and wait on[serve] Him. In God’s Word, the promises for those who wait on HIM are abundant! Read→ PS 130:5, IS 40:31, LAM 3:25, MICAH 7:7, PS 100:2-3 So, today I want to encourage y’all to wait on[serve] the Lord wholeheartedly! :) I am reminded of that beautiful verse in Matthew 6, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.“
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthains 15:58
I was scrolling through my blog and rather surprised to see it had been well over a month since my last random post! Yep, time has gotten away from me. ;) So, how about a random iPhone picture post[with a few camera pictures too]? :) Fall is starting to really show itself here in Texas! Days no hotter than 82°[I know, cold isn’t it?! ;] and nights that are “chilly”, eggnog is now offered at the grocery store and[yes!] I have had my first homemade eggnog latte of the season!! Leaves crunch underfoot and slight shades of gold and red can be spotted in the trees…. Have I told y’all I LOVE fall?!? ;) Life has been busy here as work keeps me moving. God has been gracious to give us work to put our hands to and to give me time for autumn walks with the little people, choir practice with my sisters, baking, and birthday celebrations! God is good, always! OH! and my dashing brother, Abel picked me a “fall foliage” bouquet that has adorned the counter-top ever so exquisitely! Thank you Abel. :) So, enjoy the completely random photos!
Forgive the lack of alignment. Working on fixing that soon! ;)
