Well, I hear they are looking for super woman these days?…. No need to look any further! ??34 years of mothering, 14 kiddos, 11.6 years of pregnancy[because my mom always carry the her babies an extra month! ?], 23 years of homeschooling, somewhere around 70,000 loads of laundry, countless toothpaste bottle caps returned to their bottle[inside joke y’all], 61,000 diapers changed[approximates here], countless hours of slightly emotional daughters counseling[Not sayin’ it was me ?. Just sayin’ there is truly no better counsel session than a long talk with your mom♥ ;], late night feedings, early morning errand running… WOW! Needless to say, Super Woman has been found and she lives in my house. ? My mom’s super powers include baking chocolate cake, volleyball[she’s really good], all things crafting, organizing the ugliest of messes, keeping a half a dozen students in line, gardening in Southern Texas[y’all, that’s a feat!], and solving all my problems. ;) To the world’s BEST mom and Super Woman, HAPPIEST OF MOTHER’S DAY!!!!!!? We are SO thankful to the Lord for you and you have blessed us! Yes, it’s true… every day should be mother’s day! ??

WEEK 7 MILEAGE FORM
…………………………
Hello everyone!!! Welcome to week 8. ?? How was your walking/running for week 7 of the Spring100? Have you been enjoying great weather?? Most of mine was done on a treadmill or in the airport terminal… but that’s another blog post! ?✈️ One of our fellow Spring100ers competed in her very first 5K this week and I couldn’t have been more overjoyed to hear this. Everyone give Leah a big hand! ??? Way to go LEAH!! ?? As we move forward, summer plans may threaten to hinder us from meeting our walking/running goals BUT don’t lose heart. Keep on persevering! You can do it!! Just like in our physical exercise, we are going to find certain seasons in our spiritual walk/run that are going to be a bit more challenging to run with endurance. Very often it will feel as if we are running up hill as we face trying situations and spiritual discouragement. Sometimes these uphill runs will seem impossible or unending BUT we can run with endurance as we set our eyes on Jesus Christ! He himself has run the race before us[Heb 6:20]. He has victoriously finished and enabled us to do the same through HIS strength[Phil 2:13]! So, as you face those uphill runs spiritually, set your eyes on our Lord and Savior “who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Our faithful God has promised that as we look to Him and trust HIM, we shall NEVER be put to shame[Rom 10:11]. He remains faithful in every season as we spiritually run! Uphill and down, He is always beside us, guiding us every step of the way[Is 41:13]. Set your face like a flint[Is 50:7] and run in the strength of the Lord! I will be praying for you all during week 8. ?
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31

WEEK 6 MILEAGE FORM
…………………………
“I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.”
Psalm 119:32
Well, half way through Spring100 is almost unbelievable for me!! This has been a great challenge and I have loved getting to know you all a little better through it. ?The next few weeks we have some pretty exciting happenings planned for our 100MileMonday posts(including a give-away?), so be ready!! How was week 6 for you all? Spring100ers have enjoyed a variety of walking conditions this past week and it’s been so fun to see. From sunny warm river walks to snow-covered ground❄️[how’s that for a Spring day?!] If y’all are using the Spring100 Calendar, Ps 119:32 is the verse of the week. Honestly, whenever I read this verse, it makes my heart swell! We can run swiftly in His commandments because He “enlarges” our hearts. “God, by His Spirit, enlarges the hearts of His people when he gives them wisdom”[MHC] and we are told in James 1:5 that “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” How exciting is that truth?! I am reminded of Psalm 119:18 where the Psalmist says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.” This would be a wonderful prayer for week 7 of the Spring100. May we seek the Lord diligently through His Word and pray that He would give us wisdom [enlarged hearts] to run [not just walk but RUN] swiftly in His commandments!! ? Praying for you all!
??2 questions for this week!! ?? 1.) Since we are exactly half way through, what’s been your favorite thing about the Spring 100 challenge so far? 2.) What is YOUR FAVORITE after walk/run treat( chocolate, fruit, cheeseburger??, NAP?, etc.)?? Comment below answering one or both questions!↓↓ Can’t wait to hear your answers!!

“He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
Psalm 23:3
Have you considered the company you’re keeping?
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Proverbs 4:23
Y’all ready for a random Saturday thought?! ? Smartphones, laptops, & computers… we all have at least one of these, don’t we?! For some, your iPhone has become an extension of your arm ;). It is a tool which holds your socialization, communication, work, and inspiration. For all of us, they are fun tools that can be used for lots of good but also can be used for a great amount of evil…. the choice is ours to make[Deut 30:15-17]! So, have you considered the company you’re keeping on these devices? :) In 1 Corinthians 15:33 we are told “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” And in Proverbs 12:26 it says, “The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.” These verses do not say bad company “might” or “could potentially” lead us astray but bad company WILL lead us astray and corrupt good character! We find ourselves in a funny time when our friends and company are not just the people or place we physically interact with but also the company we choose to keep online. Facebook/Instagram friends or pages, blogs you follow, youtube videos you watch will affect and define you just the same as that company mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:33 and should be carefully chosen. It is very easy to think, “just because I follow them online doesn’t mean their languages/attitude/thoughts/etc. will effect me” BUT remember, the people and pages you choose to follow and set before your eyes will have a huge impact on you spiritually. If they are “bad company”, they will ultimately corrupt good character. In Psalm 1:1 we are told “BLESSED is the man that walketh NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, NOR standeth in the way of sinners, NOR sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” We are also commanded to “guard thy heart with all diligence” [Prov 4:23]. I am reminded of the command to “Be sober, be vigilant; BECAUSE your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”[1 Peter 5:8]. So, today I want to encourage you to choose holiness in ever nook and cranny of your heart and life… including in the social networking sphere and people you follow online! Guard your heart with all diligence as you pick up your phone and flip on your favorite social networking app. Remember, good and evil are set before you! You will be given the choice to pursue worldliness or holiness in your online conduct just as you face that choice in your every day life and what you choose will either negatively or positively affect your heart and life. To be holy means to be set apart and we see in 1 Peter 1:16 the command to “Be ye holy; for I am holy”. God calls us to live a set-apart life. This may not make you the most popular online presence… and that’s okay! ? If we are seeking to honor the Lord in our online conduct/company we will most likely not be the most popular but we will be a shining light in a very dark place. This is what we are called to do[Matt 5:16]!! He has made us “peculiar people” that we might “shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” and this including our online presence. So my friends… this is my quick randomly random Saturday afternoon musing!? Consider the company you’re keeping carefully… including social network company. Is the online company you keep feeding holiness or worldliness? Seek holiness in all your conduct including your online interactions! And thoroughly Enjoy your evening! ❤️??

WEEK 4 MILEAGE FORM
…………………………
NEED A SPRING100 Calendar? Print off HERE!
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-25
How was week 4 of the Spring100 for y’all?? ? I hope you are finding it edifying, energizing, and encouraging. I had a super rainy week here BUT God allowed for just enough dry weather to get my daily walking goals in!! This week I have been super blessed as I meditate on 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 during my walks/runs. We are called to run this spiritual race to win! Our prize? The incorruptible crown! This does not mean we earn our salvation or that it is won by the way we ourselves run. If so, I would be desperately hopeless! You see, in Isaiah we are told that our works or “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” and in Romans 9:1 it says, “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” Salvation is a free gift of God and righteousness is found in the shed blood of Jesus Christ[2 Cor 5:21]! We are saved by grace[Eph 2:8-10»Rom 3:24»Acts 15:11], “our sufficiency is of God”[2 Cor 3:5] and this race we run, we run by HIS strength :). “The race of life is not a field for demonstrating the force of our will to make good choices. It’s a field for showing how the beauty of Christ takes us captive and constrains us to choose and run for HIS glory. The race of life has eternal consequences not because grace is nullified by the way we run, but because grace is verified by the way we run.” The way we run this race will prove whose strength we are running in and who has taken us captive. If we are trusting in ourselves or our own good works to get us to heaven[Rom 3:10»Is 64:6»Ps 130:3], we will have no endurance and completely fail the race…. We will fall drastically short of the finish line[Rom 3:23]. But if we have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and found in Him our strength to run, we will run to win. Christ -in His great mercy and grace- enables us to run with endurance and finish the race set before us! :) Random thought for week 5. Look steadfastly to Jesus and trust HIM to sufficiently provide the strength needed to run the race set before you with endurance! He is faithful. ❤️ I will be praying for you all this new week of the SPRING100! Have fun!!
“ It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.”
Psalm 18:32-33

According to HIS abundant mercy || Happy Resurrection Day!

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
1 Peter 1:3-5
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”

One loaf of Apple Cinnamon Bread || Blessed
Through the mail it sailed and in my P.O. box safely arrived! ? A box adorned with happy little strawberries containing a super delicious surprise. With a squeal of delight I opened the package and what do you guess was inside? Great guess! ? A loaf of Freshly baked Apple Cinnamon Bread from a very sweet friend!! Yes, a few happy tears were shed over a loaf of bread which brought with its delivery a ray of sunshine on a rainy Texas day. Y’all, crying over bread isn’t normal for me. ;) The tears could have been because I was slightly over-emotional due to a cold that came on Saturday or the fact the loaf of bread smelt so outrageously delicious…?! Either way, the joy from that little box sent through the mail was 186% genuine!! ?? As I sit here enjoying a piece of that bread, I’m reminded of the blessing a random box from a kind friend in a far-away land can bring. Not necessarily because of its delicious contents[though they do help ;b] but because of the thoughtfulness of the one who sent it. Perhaps a this is that “cup of water” the Lord speaks of in Mark 9:41?! :) To the gifter(you know who you are) I must say, THANK YOU for making my day and blessing me in so many ways! Your random acts of kindness are used to water my soul and I pray the Lord will water yours in return. Prov 11:25, “he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” That is a promise! To those who may happen upon this post, prayerfully seek to be a blessing to those the Lord has put in your life! A load of laundry, sink of dishes, kind word, little note, or surprise postal delivery done in the name of the Lord can go a long way[Col 3:17]. When you allow the Lord to work through you, your random acts of kindness will be used to bless someone in some pretty amazing ways! This, my friends, is my random post for the week. ;) Happy Thursday! ❤️
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:10
“If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
Phil 2:1-3
When a Kansan comes to visit! || Blessed
Y’all, when a Kansan comes to visit… well, you know it’s bound to be a fantastic time! ?Sarah and I have been friends for some time now(4+ years?!). The Lord randomly but at the perfect time allowed our paths to cross way back then and we’ve been good friends ever since! And we just happen to share a love for all things chocolate too[you can imagine our immense joy to find a ghirardelli store]. ;) She has been a sweet godly encouragement and I have been so blessed by her friendship. So you can guess what a JOY it was to have her fly all the way to Texas for a visit!! Words can’t even describe how thankful I am for the time we had together. Long talks, lots of laughter[I think we laughed so hard we cried], sightseeing, good food, great walks, kayak trips in beautifully sunny weather, fun memories, and lots a fantastic photos made for a perfect visit! Grace officially dubbed it a “lady’s retreat”. ?? Sarah even let me take her portraits which was icing on the cupcake for me[I’ll post a few of my favorites at the bottom of this post].? Y’all, she’s just as beautiful and vibrant on the inside as she is on the outside! So, how about a few[dozen ;] photos? Thank you so much Sarah for your faithful friendship and the wonderful visit!
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you”
Philippians 1:3

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-25

WEEK 2 MILEAGE FORM
…………………………
Did you get those miles logged for week 2? ? Fantastic… let’s move on!!?
1 Spring100 notice: ☞ a great question was asked by a fellow Spring100er. She said, “What if I don’t get to logging my miles on Monday? Will it still work on Tuesday?”
Answer: YES!! It definitely will work on Tuesday or even a week later. I know life can get busy so just go back to the post with the form containing the week your logging for. So let’s say you couldn’t get around to logging week 2’s miles until week 3. Just go back to the correct post containing the week 2 form to log week 2!! ☺ Feel free to send an email or leave a comment below with any questions that may come into your mind for week 3!
Phew, formalities over? Good! ☺️ Last week I received an email from H.B. who joined in the Spring100 with us and I can’t tell you how much his note blessed and encouraged me. With his permission, I want to share it with you all! I hope it encourages and reminds you to find your strength in Christ[2 Cor 12:9-10], resting in the sufficiency of His grace, and seeking to glorify Him alone[Col 3:17] in all you do as you run the race set before you[Heb 12:1-3]! And yes, it truly is possible to glorify the Lord even in something as simple as a 1 mile walk/run and that is the goal of the Spring100. :) H.B. says:
“My name is H. and I signed up to your Spring 100 Challenge. It was really an answer to prayer. I had been praying for the Lord to give me grace to get back into running. I had stopped running when I became a Christian 6 years ago. I knew it was a hobby that I had that I counted as ‘dung’ as Paul puts it[Phil 3:8]. After 6 years as a Christian I believe that the Lord wanted me to run again, but this time for his glory. When I read your blog I had faith to believe that the Lord was encouraging me to start again. The Lord soon gave me grace to find a pair of shoes that fit online. The shoes got here on Friday and I had a goal of 8 miles by the end of the weekend.
When I got up this morning I still had a goal of 8 miles, of which I had 0. But by the grace of God I was able to accomplish my goal by running/jogging/walking the Azalea Trail…. It was a wonderful experience. I was able to give glory to God and bless His name as I admired his creation.
1 Corinthians 10:31“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
I checked the distance on Google and it came to 10.6 miles. Praise the Lord….”
Praise the Lord, indeed. ☺️ I’m thanking the Lord for H.B.’s testimony of God’s grace and I am so thankful he has joined us for the Spring100!! God truly does provide the grace and strength we need to do that which He has called us to, doesn’t He? His grace is sufficient!
How was week 2 for you all? I have LOVED hearing from lots of you and getting “status updates” throughout the week. Some of y’all are stuck indoors because of April showers but, with the aid of a treadmill, you’re not letting the rain stop you from meeting your goals! Others are opting out of driving to their destination and walking there. Way to go! ??This week I chose to walk most of my miles. A slightly sore ankle gave me an excuse to “slowly” walk ;). It was an extremely beautiful week of walking for me! I downloaded Psalm 147 on my phone and enjoyed listening to it while I did my daily miles. Verse 10-11 continually stuck out to me, “He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: HE taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear HIM, in those that hope in HIS mercy.” Keep up the great work everyone! Take this challenge at your own speed/pace and have fun. Looking forward to walking the rest of Spring100 with you all!
2 questions!!? 1.) How was the weather for week 2 of the Spring100? Sunny, dry, and warm? Or were rain coats, row boats, and layers necessary? ? 2.) Did you have any exciting encounters during Spring100 week 2 walks/runs? Grizzly bears, rattle snakes, etc? ? I would absolutely love to have each of you Spring100ers answer at least 1 or both questions in the comment section ↓below↓!!
