Y’all, today is one VERY special and SUPER important day! Yes, you are correct, today is Thanksgiving BUT that’s not what I am talking about. ? Today I have a lot to be thankful because today is GIDEON’S 20TH BIRTHDAY!! You read it right, today this handsomely dashing guy turns 20! ??‍♀️?? Can I just say that Gideon has a million dollar smile?!  And since It’s HIS birthday… I get to dedicate an ENTIRE POST to him. A man of great skill, sensitivity, and strength like Gideon deserves to be double celebrated on his BIRTHDAY! ;) So… we had a bit of trouble getting the 6 random questions answered. Gideon happens to be a modest man and talking about himself isn’t top on his list of things to do!? So… my sisters and I took it upon ourselves to answer some random questions for him!!  Let’s see how well we know the Birthday guy!!?

1. How do you take your coffee? BLACK (Micah) [←truth! And he drinks a whole lot of it!!]

1. Gideon is a walking encyclopedia! Truth. He has a vast knowledge of history, politics, and economy. If I need to be filled in on any topic, I go to him! ?
2.  Gideon + poison oak = disaster!! Not good….???
3. Gideon’s look-alike is the Brawny Man! The Brawny man isn’t as good-looking as Gideon but close. ;)
4. He can make things grow in ANY type of soil, is super precise in the word he puts his hands to, and isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty!
5. Gideon is a man of many talents in the kitchen! From fudgy brownies, to gourmet pizza sauce, Green Rice Casserole, or Chocolate cake, he is the master!

The Turkey Hunt ??

Yes, it’s that time of year again! When we grab our camo and diligently hunt 2 plump turkeys. It’s hard work y’all but somebody has to do it! ?? Okay, okay… so it’s more like a Sister’s shopping trip to find the most plump already butchered and clean turkey at our supermarket[they look much more appetizing when the head is already removed ;]. ?? But it’s still hard work! Our traditional Girl’s Thanksgiving Shopping trip happened early Monday morning. With 2 teams, 6 carts, a couple hundred different items[which may or may not have been made up of mostly butter ?], and Thanksgiving dinner on our minds we conquered the grocery store madness and even found some coffee along the way. Today Stuffing  & pie crusts preparation will commonsense and I think it’s really feeling like 48 hours until the most thankful day of the year! ? QUESTION!???? Y’all, we have officially entered Thanksgiving week! Super excited. Today I am thankful for the Word of God! It is quick, and powerful[Heb 4:12]. His Word brings comfort to a weary soul[PS 119:50], healing to the afflicted[Ps 107:20], nourishment to the hungry[Matt 4:4],  and salvation to the lost[Rom 10:17]! This weekend’s verse has been Jeremiah 23:29(thank you to the person who shared :), “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” :)“Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jer 15:16! His Word is priceless, it brings me joy, delights my heart and today I am beyond thankful for it!??  I would love to hear what you are thankful for in the comment box below! Coffee & Completeness!

Yes, 2 completely different things but today I am thankful for Coffee & Completeness!! ;) I was listening to Matthew during my morning walk and came to chapter 14 verse 34 where it says,  ““And besought Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment: and as many as touched were made PERFECTLY WHOLE.” In Christ, we are perfectly whole! Complete, lacking absolutely nothing! ? Colossians 2:10 says, “And ye are COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power”. So today I am rejoicing in the perfect completeness found in Christ Jesus our Lord. The lasting feeling of being complete will be found in no other person, place, or thing. Only in Christ will you be made perfectly whole and complete! ☺️ Perhaps you would like to find this completeness I speak of? It will be found in salvation that comes through Jesus Christ our Lord who gave himself a ransom for all[1 Timothy 2:5-6 » Acts 4:10-12]. It’s a free gift offered by God[Ephesians 2:8] to all who will call upon the name of the Lord[Romans 10:9-13]! So, yes, today I am thankful for coffee and completeness…. 2 vastly different thanksgivings but both are gifts from the Lord! ?? QUESTION!! Coffee or Tea? Or hot cocoa? ;) Which do you prefer?? From September to November and all the in between…  I think it’s high time for a random post! ??  With just 2 weeks until Thanksgiving day, I have decided to do posts with random thanksgiving. ??? So, y’all will have to put up with more frequent blogging from me! ? With each post, I would love to hear what you are giving thanks for on that day! Big or small, silly or serious. I want to hear them all! These past few months have been some of the most intense  and busy months of my life. Change has happened, life has been full, and God’s grace has been sufficient! The dust has started to settle and as I look back over these months I see all the more God’s faithfulness to skillfully guide our steps as He has promised to do and I am truly and heartily humbled by His goodness. Something I have been thinking about and thankful for lately comes from Psalm 23:3 where it says, “…He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”We are led in the path of righteousness for His name sake. How amazing is that?! “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” [ps 32:8]. So, from September to November in a nutshell! Road tripping, photoshooting, hard working, coffee shopping, dog walking[2 new puppies have joined the animal life here], and birthday celebrating. ??

Y’all, I’ve been doing a little Thanksgiving decorating here on the blog and I am just a little lot excited about what the days ahead hold for this blog and that which is posted on it[Lord willing]! Here we are in the midst of what I would consider an absolutely magnificent GOLDEN month. ✨? Crisp air, crunchy leaves, glorious colors, and good food fill the month. Family is enjoyed, celebrations commence, and lovely memories are made. It is the month of November! I don’t think I have been this excited about a month for a long time!! With the month of November comes Thanksgiving and we truly have SO much to be thankful for, don’t we?! Have you paused to consider how merciful our gracious Lord is and how thankful we ought to be every second of the day? He daily loads us with blessings and benefits that I truly believe cannot be numbered. My mind goes to Psalm 139:17 where it says, “How precious also are THY thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!”Every breath breathed and and the beat of our hearts is proof of His vast mercy and deserves our continual thanksgiving!!   We are commanded in Ps 96:3 to “Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.” and that is just what I intend to do! :) Will you join me? Today I’m thankful for the autumn colors that crunched underfoot during my morning walk! Their glorious colors declare their Maker’s praise!! ✨?? A day truly worth bloggin’… Today I get to celebrate my gorgeous Mother on her birthday! ☺️??  I’m thanking the Lord for the years of life He has given my mom and her faithful service to me and so many others. Wow, so much could be said about my mother. Her daily hourly  service to her family, wisdom, and friendship is a blessing that cannot be expressed! Today is a day that the entire house has been anxiously anticipating with eager excitement!!? One of my favorite sisters is celebrating a very special day???…. Today is Ruth’s 16th B.I.R.T.H.D.A.Y!!!! Y’all am a little LOT excited! Pull out the streamers because we are celebrating this brown eyed beauty. ?? This birthday girls is gifted in too many ways to count and her kindness, patience, and hard work adds so much joy  to so many lives! ? Y’all today Little Miss Emmi turns 6! ??

It’s the day she’s been waiting for with eager anticipation!! ??? Sheer joy and squeals of delight can be heard ** Cue confetti, sound the blow horns, and give this special little lady a cheer of applause** because today a very special gal turns 6 whole years old…. TODAY IS EMMI’S BIRTHDAY!!!??☺️?✨ This little lady brings so much beauty, joy, and excitement into my life it’s hard to believe I’ve been blessed to be here sister. AND today we get to celebrate the 6 years of life the Lord has given her!  So, without further ado, 6 questions answered by the birthday girl herself and 6 very random facts about Emmi!?

Happy is he…

This morning’s Psalm for me was 146. I love this psalm so much and always smile when I read “Happy is he….” in verse 5. :) I smile because its true! Great joy and happiness is ours when we set our hopes in the Lord alone, fixing our eyes on Him as the Satisfier of our souls. This fixing my eyes on Christ alone is an ongoing, lifelong lesson isn’t it?! BUT from personal first hand experience I can say that Psalm 146:5-6 is 100% true! There is great contentment and lasting happiness/joy in Christ! As I read this psalm today I was reminded of Isaiah 26:3 where we are promised in perfect peace as we set our minds on Christ. It says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” And then my mind quickly raced to Collosians 3[y’all, go and read the entire chapter!!] where it says “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” CHRIST is our Life, He is our Hope, our Peace, and in Him we will find true and lasting happiness. “For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.”[Ps71:5]“And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in Thee.“[Ps 39:7] That’s my random all day meditation from my morning reading! ;) I’d love to hear what encouraged you today[maybe hymn, verse, random thought or word?]! ??Well, Hello Fall! Finally you have arrived bringing with you a delightful touch of sentimental splendor. Great sighs of glee could be heard as I anticipate this season’s glad tidings of burnt orange leaves and crisp autumn mornings[which tend to come a bit later in the season for us Txexans]! :)  Slight sights of Autumn have swetp across the land and can be found  tucked in the corners during my morning walks.  Sometimes you just have to stop and look around to see the hints of autumn splendor dancing in the wind or wrapped around the fence! ;)  God’s creation continually sings His praise, declaring His faithfulness, and this season is no exception.
