Oh wow, you guys, I have a really hard time believing I am lucky blessed enough to be here again… on the 16th of July… CELEBRATING RACHEL’S BIRTHDAY!!!!!  It’s that one day of the year that I (Grace) am allowed to pop in and relieve a bit of the blogging responsibilities here at Shiloh!!!

It’s Rachel’s birthday today and we are so thankful for all she does (we’d love her regardless, of course, but the fact that she does a lot and isn’t lazy makes it a leeeeetle bit easier ;)).   The meals, website maintenance, photography, crazy mopping skills, express dish-washing abilities, cupcakes, titan-like grocery shopping runs, ability to coordinate events that last an entire seasons (re: Spring100), willingness to jump in and pull you through the last mile when you’re too tired to go it alone, AND MORE (I’d keep going, but we’ll [Lord-allowing] be up with the sun to start the day off with a Birthday Coffee Date — YAY)!!!

So for the 2018 Birthday Season Rachel has started an acrostic theme, which I will carry on…. 35 years and counting! || HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

35 years is no small number!❤ It’s true. 35 years of God’s goodness and faithful provision is being celebrating today! Today my siblings and I are wishing my parents a very HAPPY and fabulous and fun-filled ;) 35th ANNIVERSARY. Y’all, they get younger and more radiant looking as a couple each year! Words cannot express my gratitude for the 35 years marriage God has given my parents!! His faithfulness has been beautifully displayed in their life together and we couldn’t be any more blessed. Happy anniversary Mom & Dad!! May the next 35 years be even more full and blessed than those which have passed! :)

??the number of the day is… 15!???

??? I’m pullin’ out the party hats, prepping 15 candles, and decking the halls with confetti today!! Yep, you guessed it, there is a birthday guy in the house and I’m bursting at the seams with excitement!!? Y’all, it’s time to lift your hands and give a big round of applause for NATHANAEL!! This good-looking guy turns 15 years old TODAY!!?? Known for his great sense of humor, outrageous athletic ability, ambitious and determined spirit, and dimply grin ?  Nathanael is an unbelievably fabulous blessing to so many and pretty photogenic too [pictures below to prove it ;]. Nathanael’s self-discipline, persistence, and ability to put in a hard day’s work is encouraging! Pasture fencing, sheep herding, photo-studio building, sheetrocking… you name it, he will do it. Nathanael is always the first to ask “what are we working on next” and then eagerly jump on the job! He once told me as he poured himself into mulching the front yard one hot summer day, “a job worth doing is a job worth doing well” and I have yet to forget that moment. Inspirational! ??? Okay…. it’s time to fill y’all in on a few characteristics  this birthday boy possess creatively spelled out [Ha, he may have the longest name of the family too!?]  Without further ado NATHANAEL:

N– Neat in a tidy way!? He keeps the guys on their toes when it comes to keeping the guy’s cabin clean and tidy!
A– Athletic[SUPER athletic at that], adventurous, alert! He is so alert that has been given the name “ears” because he hears and notices EVERYTHING! ? Try buying a birthday surprise with a brother like that. ??
T– Thoughtful, thankful, tough[he makes managing pain look fun?]!!
H– hardworking, handsome, happy[always!]
A– Ambitious! He isn’t afraid to try something and when he tries, he tries to succeed.
N– Never-Nervous. Ran out of N characteristics! ? But it is true. Nathanael has nerves of steel.
A– Active and all-together-great[y’all, he has a lot of A in his name?]! He very rarely has a moment he isn’t doing something!
E– Energetic, enthusiastic, and ENCOURAGING!! Nathanael is a super encourages!!
L– Likeable, Leader, loving, longsuffering[y’all to live with me he has to be?]

Happy ??15th?? BIRTHDAY NATHANAEL! Can’t tell you how thankful I am to have you as my brother. Your kindness, constant care, and loving concern for me and others is a blessing! The lips of the righteous feed many…. Pretty amazing isn’t it? It reminds me of one of my favorite verses in Proverbs 31 where it says, “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”[verse 26]Both verses are convicting if you ask me! As I read those verses I had a couple of serious questions to ask myself…. Am I feeding many with my words? Do I open my mouth to speak wisdom and is the law of kindness on my tongue?  My prayer this week comes from Psalm 19, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my STRENGTH, and my REDEEMER.” May we set our hearts on honoring the Lord and encouraging others with our words and may the Lord use the words of our mouth and meditations of our heart to feed many and bring Him glory! ? With a water balloon in hand…

To say it’s been hot here in our part of the world would be an understatement! About mid-May the heat kicked in full force and it was decided that there was no better way to cool off than a good old-fashioned water balloon fight! ?? Teams were chosen and water balloons filled full. Strategies were made and rules put in place! ??Y’all, we can get a little competitive so rules and regulations are a must!? Y’all have made it a LONG WAY! This Spring100 challenge has lasted 94 days and from the USA, Mexico, Belgium, and France thousands of miles have been logged. 2/3rds of those who began way back in March have finished or will be finishing these next couple days! ? 3x more people are crossing the finish line this year than crossed last year and lots are crossing the Spring100 finish line for the very first time. Many of you have overcome sickness, pain, or super hectic schedules to finish and for that I am truly humbled. ? Way to go each one of you! I am thanking the Lord for such a tremendously energetic Spring100 group and the endurance He has given each one of us to finish the 2nd annual Spring100 strong! Wednesday is the Spring100 Deadline and our final log will be posted on that evening along with extremely important info regarding how you will get your Spring100 shirt. Y’all, one of the top BEST DAYS of the entire year is happening  TODAY and I’m just a little LOT excited!! It’s not National Donut day? or Mother’s day?… so it must be… FATHER’S DAY!?? And it’s not just any old Father’s Day, it’s my DAD’S [THE BEST DAD IN THE ENTIRE WORLD] 35th Father’s Day! This is monumental.?? 35 years of tireless work, lots of sleepless nights, baby carrying, bathing & diaper changing[cause dad’s don’t get enough thanks for the dirty work]! 35 years of  faithfully encouraging, counseling,  and diligently leading his family in the way of the Lord. 35 years of loving each one of his 14 children with a sacrificial love all by God’s grace!!! That is pretty amazing if you ask me! The verse that ALWAYS comes to mind on Father’s Day is this, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Jn 15:13. It is with tremendous gratitude that I wish my Dad the HAPPIEST OF FATHER’S DAYS to date!! Thank you for your daily sacrifice,  love, and support. We are tremendously blessed and thankful to the Lord for YOU! So after 35 years it’s time to get to know my dad a bit. 10 really random  facts about him + a few of my favorite Dad pictures from the past year! ?

1.) By God’s Grace, my Dad has shown selfless dedication, diligence, and unconditional love every single day of his fathering!
2.) Need it built? He’s on the job. When we moved I needed a new photography studio for our businesses. You guessed it! He built it! And beautifully may I add.? Chicken Coops, sheep shelters, and shop tables are crafted with care!
3.) My Dad is not afraid to get dirty. Really dirty when it means the comfort or welfare of his family and with a big family that happens often! Whether it’s changing a diaper or delivering a baby or figuring out a broken septic system, there is no job too dirty for him. Latest endeavor? Getting chest deep in mud to fix a broken water line! Water is officially back and we are so thankful!???
4.) Believe it or not, he has an uncanny eye for shabby chic home decor. Seriously!
5.) He makes award winning fudge! Just ask Joel, he ate a few pounds of it over christmas. ??
6.)My Dad is THE MOST sensitive guy around. He really should be dubbed “Mr Sensitive”. I would like to say having 7 girls and a wife has helped?!? He is always willing to lend a listening ear even when you don’t make any sense at all. For that I am thankful!! ?❤
7.) Pictures below will prove he jumps into any situation with enthusiasm and energy! Whether it be building a chicken coop or playing a birthday party game. ?  He is the life of the party!
8.) My Dad is an extremely patient teacher!!
9.) He is THE HARDEST worker I know! I’ve been blessed to watch him diligently work to provide for us over the years and it’s been truly humbling.
10.) Y’all, in my somewhat bias but humble opinion ? he’s the BEST DAD EVER!! ❤

ABEL J. it’s YOUR BIRTHDAY! ???

Drrruuuuummmm roooolllll pleeeaaassse…. ? Y’all!!! THIS IS seriously EXCITING! Today, my handsome brother Abel TURNS 13 years old! ? That’s right, it’s his birthday and we are having a party. So grab a party hat and a piece of cake ’cause this guy is worth celebrating!!???? Full of spunk, Abel is the guy who will offer a laugh on a grumpy day, give you a smile that is worth a million dollars, and throw you a sales pitch that you won’t be able to resist.? He is full of bright ideas, business plans, and quirky comebacks! Abel is always doing the unexpected and can be counted on for ingenues ideas that leave us rolling on the floor with laughter!! He is 1 in a million and TODAY is HIS BIRTHDAY!!???? So, how about a few characteristics that describe the birthday guy and help you to get to know him a little better?!?! Without further ado:

1.)  Next week is the FINAL 100MileMonday post! I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to have everyone participating send in a photo this week to help celebrate at the final dash to the finish line. Let’s make the 14th 100MileMonday Post  the BEST EVER!!! I am hoping to see all of YOU. If you haven’t submitted a photo for this challenge yet… now is your chance! 2.) Yes, I know many of  you are thinking “WAIT!! Spring100 ends at 11:59pm on Wednesday June 20th not Monday. Very True, we will have our final 100MileMonday post on Monday and then I will do a follow-up Celebration finish line post on Thursday with the final mile log for y’all to submit any miles accomplished between Monday, June 18th and the final day- Wednesday June 20th! So, don’t panic, y’all do have until 11:59 on Wednesday, June 20th to squeeze as many miles in as possible. :)

?? questions for this week!! ?? Do you plan on continuing walking/running after the completion of the Spring100? 2.) How will you be treating yourself once you cross the finish line? I’ve heard a couple participants have enjoyed some pretty delicious icecream treats. ?

Kendalyn  always gives the perfect descriptions for her photos!! She says, “About to attack a very steep hill with a friend… PURPOSEFULLY?!!! This picture doesn’t do it justice. It’s a killer hill, and appropriately named “Heartbreak Hill.” ??” Way to go, Kendalyn!! ???

Wisdom || My midnight meditation

This week Proverbs 8 has been on my mind!?  I read it on Monday and the truth found there just jumped out at me and stuck all week long. “Wisdom is the principle thing”[Prov 4:7] and Proverbs 8 so beautifully reveals it!  So, without further ado, a couple of my favorite verses from Proverbs 8:

“I(←wisdom) love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, DURABLE riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.”
Proverbs 8:17-19

James 1:5 comes to mind where it says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” I am so thankful God promises to give wisdom liberally/abundantly if we ask! May we seek to “get wisdom”[Prov 4:7].      Psst… to all those who follow my blog on a regular basis, I am pretty excited to announce I will be working on sharing 2 NEW blog posts each week from here on out at Shiloh Photography[Lord willing]! Whether it be photo shoots, random daily life, pinterest finds, or midnight mediation?, I’ll be blogging more often! It’s my desire for this blog to be a place where the Lord is praised, His Word exalted, and lots of fun is shared and I think there should be a little more of it blogged here [as long as the Lord allows]. ? Spring100 ends inCountdown

Howdy y’all!! Guess what? We have not only entered June but we have also entered week 12 of the SPRING100.  WAY TO GO!! ?? The FINAL day of the SPRING100 [the last day to walk and log your miles!!] is June 20th. We have just 16 days left to complete and submit your miles. I am so excited to see you all cross the finish line!!!  This week’s verse is Psalm 16:8, “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.“ And yes, this is a perfect verse to memorize as you conquer week 12 of the Spring100! ;) This one verse reminds me of a couple other verses that always bring me so much encouragement- Psalm 34:5 “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”and Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” Keep on looking to the Lord and thoroughly ENJOY week 12!! I know I will be here in Texas!! ?☀
