“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you” Philippians 1:3
Today is one of the very best days of the entire year…. You guessed it!!! It’s Father’s Day and the day I get to blog about the world’s BEST DAD! ??♀️ ?? My Dad sacrifices so much for his children and blesses us in so many ways. From hard physical labor to giving wise counsel and leading us in God’s Word every single day, our Dad continually encourages us and points us to Christ!! And for that I am beyond grateful.? The verse that always comes to mind on Father’s Day is “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Our Dad has truly laid down his life for each one of his children… from the oldest to the youngest! Happy Father’s Day to the WORLD’s BEST DAD!!! We are so thankful for you. ?? May the years to come of your fathering be sweeter than those which have past! ???♀️
“The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.“ Proverbs 20:7
“Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD.” Psalms 128:1-4
Y’all, it’s true! Due to a very monumental occasion, there is going to be just a little too much handsomeness in just one post! ??? That’s right, today just happens to be ABEL’S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!??? It’s party time!! This handsome guy is 14 years old today. ? Besides dashingly good looks and very happy disposition, Abel is hard-working [note the paint on his arms in the below photos. Among other occupations, he’s taking on a painting job over the summer!], EXTREMELY strong??, hyper-entrepreneurial[y’all, he’s full of great business ideas], has nerves of steal, can sell you anything even if you don’t need it, is a great conversationalist, and always looking to learn a new skill. The Lord has blessed Abel in so many ways! His discerning spirit that is seeking after the Lord is a blessing to many. I am so thankful to have him as my bother! And today, we get to spend the day celebrating HIM! ?? Happiest of Birthdays, Abel! Hope YOUR day is filled to the brim and overflowing for you! ??
??♀️ Sooo, y’all know the rules! Don’t leave until you’ve left a Birthday note below in the comment box!! Help us wish Abel a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
“Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God” Psalm 146:5
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Cor 12:9
“He hath made every thing beautiful in HIS time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
The beautiful view of Queen Ann’s Lace fresh with dew as the sun began to rise over the trees during the stillness of the morning grabbed my attention and heart. It is hard to believe that such a splendid sight is classified a “weed”, isn’t it?! I was reminded of a portion of Ecclesiastes 3 that I have been reading as my eyes looked over the white field of loveliness. “He hath made every thing beautiful in HIS time”! From this verse, my mind quickly ran swift through a few of my favorite scriptures that I wanted to share with you today. They all hold the joy-filled reminder and promise that God’s ways are so much greater than ours, His thoughts so much higher, and His timing is always perfect. He truly does make EVERYTHING beautiful in its time[I can attest to that goodness]! We find it hard to look past the moment/temporal yet the Lord has the entirety of our lives perfectly planned in His eternal view. He knows the beginning from the end[Isaiah 46:10]! He is working and weaving all things together to do a good work in each of His children and fulfill His perfect pre-ordained plan. It reminds me of my “verse of the year” which says, “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.”Acts 15:18!? So, today sharing a few verses that I hope encourage your hearts as much as they do mine: Romans 8:28 > Ephesians 1:11 > Psalm 18:30 > Isaiah 55:8-9 > Deuteronomy 32:4 > Psalm 145:9-10 >Ecclesiastes 3:14
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” Romans 11:33-36
“I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:8

Spring100 MILE LOG
…………………………………
…………………………………
Y’all! We are just 18 short days away from the FINAL DAY of the Spring100! ?♀️?♂️ The finish line is in sight, faces are set like flints on the end goal of 100 miles, many are making up for miles which need to be caught up on and counting those which have been walked, diligently making sure they will cross the finish line on time. As we near the finish of the SPRING100, I see the steadfast determination of so many fellow participants as they set their sights on the JUNE 21ST finish line!?? I am reminded our spirit race and the command to set our eyes on Christ, following His example as we run with endurance[Heb 12:1-3]. The only way we are going to run with endurance the race of life and finish strong is if we look to Jesus, the Author and FINISHER of our faith. We are promised as we do so, we will not be moved and never put to shame, “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” [Isaiah 50:7]! I cannot stress enough the need for each one of you to fix your eyes like a flint on our Lord and Savior[Psalm 34:5, Heb 12:2, Is 50:7], finding in Him your strength[Psalm 62:2, Psalm 105:4, Hab 3:19, Phil 4:13, 2 Cor 12:9], and understanding that HE is your prize[Phil 3:14, Gen 15:1, James 1:12]. Jesus Christ has run this race that we are on[Heb 6:20], He knows the path we take[Job 23:10], He alone leads us in victory[1 Cor 15:57], and through Him we will be triumphant! “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” 2 Cor 2:15. So, set those eyes like a flint and RUN! Y’all, enjoy the 12th week of SPRING100!!! ??♀️?

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Well y‘all! It has been nearly 6 months since my last “random life” blog post and I am rather embarrassed to admit that.? Winter came and went with a flurry of cold-wetness for us here in East Texas and here we are in deep Spring, warm days and gorgeous sunsets! What an adventure these past 6 months have been. ? With a full work schedule and daily home life, travels plus all the unexpected that the Lord uses to fill the days, I can only look back and smile. The verse that comes to mind as I consider this first portion of 2019 is 2 Samuel 22:30 where it says “For by THEE I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.” This verse is beyond true! So much has been accomplished by God’s grace! So many impossibles have been made possible through Him alone[Phil 4:13]. And so many blessings + benefits have filled every single day! HE has given supernatural strength to my weary body and soul when I have been utterly exhausted and shown His mercy every single second of every single hour of every single day.? “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” [Is 40:29] ?? Humbled by our Lord’s marvelous love and goodness!! ??♀️ SOooooo, I think it’s high time for a little bit of daily randomness from the months of Spring here, don’t you? When you live in an entrepreneurial home-schooling family who has decided to take on farm life and random home-repair projects, life can be quite an adventure! So, before summer begins, how about some really random peeks into my Spring? QUESTION for YOU! What has been a highlight of your 2019 to date? I would love to hear in the comment section below!! Happy Saturday y’all! ??♀️?
With Spring comes NEW LIFE to our farm life. ? 22ish Lambs were born almost doubling our flock [praise the Lord], a new round of Chicks+ducklings arrived, [thankfully] our hens ended their winter strike ?and began laying eggs again, and turnips are growing like weeds in Gideon’s Garden!? If you have any suggestions on how to eat turnips, leave a comment below!???
So many work projects tackled this Spring! The largest may have been our Spring 2019 release. ? Countless hours of work, thousands of photos snapped[y’all somewhere around 15,000?], and many many prayers went into this launch. The Lord was so gracious and faithful to allow all the details to come together perfectly! “Many, O LORD my God, are THY wonderful works which THOU hast done…”[Ps 40:5]
Spring wildflowers bouquets are a common sight in our house this time of year and budding trees are eyecandy during my morning walks! Every vase is filled full of the most beautiful freshly picked flowers. ?
Between mulching, fence mending, and work space building, the guys have been using their free time to keep up with outdoor chores and improvements! ??
a few of my sisters and I enjoyed a lovely Spring Lunch date at a favorite near-by bakery! Always enjoy time with them. ??☕️
And a little “Life randomness”! From morning scripture inspiration to cupcakes and fort building! So much fills a day full here. ? And my mom makes the best Cream Filled Chocolate cupcakes y‘all! ?
Anyone else love baking bread? Bread baking is a favorite for me! Love when I am able to grab an afternoon and enjoy time in the kitchen. ???
Grace, Bekah, and Emmi’s handmade Mother’s Day Flower bouquet was a sweet touch to the decorations! So fun to see them put it together! We had a terrific Mother’s Day celebration. ? Now that I am caught up, let’s see if I can stay that way! ?
“Many, O LORD my God, are THY wonderful works which THOU hast done, and THY thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.“ Psalm 40:5
“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.” Proverbs 4:25

“Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:26-27
We have successfully completed week 8 of the Spring100 by God’s grace and entered into week 9!! We are so close to having that Spring100 finish line in sight.? Keep on going strong y‘all! ?? Tonight I was praying about what verses to share on this post and the Lord literally rolled Proverbs 4:25-27 right in front of me, “Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” I love the exhortation found in these verses, SET YOUR EYES STEADFASTLY ON THE FINISH LINE/Christ Jesus,PONDER THE PATH OF THY FEET, and DON’T GO OFF COURSE! As we trek through this race of life, these exhortations are priceless if we hope to run with endurance!?♀️?♂️ We are going to be tempted to take our eyes off the finish line, to remove our gaze from our Prize -Jesus Christ- and put it on worthless pursuits and pleasures! We are going to be tempted with distractions and diversions when it comes to digging into God’s Word which is our roadmap in this life race, and the temptation to go off course and take a “broader-easier path” will come our way. BUT what does God’s Word say? We are commanded to set our eyes on Jesus[Hebrews 12:2], focus fully on His Word[Psalm 1 says it is to be our meditation and delight DAY AND NIGHT] which will illuminate our path[Ps 119:130, Ps 119:105], and stay on the narrow course[Mat 7:13-14]! For those who do this, they are called BLESSED! “BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. BUT his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate DAY and NIGHT.And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” [Psalm 1]!! This week, I want to encourage you all to memorize Proverbs 4:25-27 and take time to pray Psalm 119:33 & Psalm 17:5 before or during your Spring100 walks/runs, “Order my steps in Thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” “Hold up my goings in Thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.” May the Lord richly encourage you in His Word for week 9 of the Spring100! That is my prayer this week for each of you. ?? ?Happy walking/running y‘all!! ??♀️

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” Proverbs 31:25-27
Y’all, it’s mother’s day!! ?? A day very worthy of pulling out the streamers, blowing up the balloons, sounding the blowhorns and celebrating!!??? Today I get to say “THANK YOU” to the world’s BEST MOTHER! Today my mom celebrates 36 years of motherhood. 36 years of tireless, faithful hard work and determination which is definitely not for the faint of heart.? 36 years of daily, priceless, moment-by-moment sacrifice and love which points us to Christ[John 15:13] and encourages us onward and upward! They say an average stay-at-home mom’s worth is $143,102… A YEAR! Seeing my mom has birthed, cared for, cleaned up after, and home-educated 14 children, I have figured she’s a multi-million dollar mother! ??? THANK YOU, MOM. You have blessed us all and we are so thankful to the Lord for you! Continue the good work in the LORD, your labor is not in vain! ?
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31:28-30

“I will run the way of thy commandments, when Thou shalt enlarge my heart.” Psalm 119:32
Well, over halfway through Spring100 is both exciting and unbelievable!! This has been a great challenge so far and I have loved enjoying every mile of it with YOU. ? It is a beautiful reminder that, just as we run run the spring100 challenge with hundreds of fellow participants, we also run the race of life with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! Let’s strive to daily encourgae eachother unward and upward! The May Spring100 Calendar is a handy way to keep track of those miles so don’t forget to print one off. This week I want to STRONGLY encourage you to choose a verse each week for the remainder of the Spring100 and meditate on that verse during your walks. Recite it, pray it, and live it! ??♀️ Psalm 119:32 is the verse of the week for me, “I will run the way of thy commandments, When thou shalt enlarge my heart.” I love how the Psalmist says “I WILL”! Not “maybe I will” or “I’ll try” or “I can’t, it’s just too hard”? BUT “I WILL”. We can run swiftly in His commandments because He “enlarges” our hearts. “God, by His Spirit, enlarges the hearts of His people when He gives them wisdom”[MHC] and we are told in James 1:5 that “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” How exciting is that truth?! I am reminded of Psalm 119:18 where the Psalmist says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.”This would be a wonderful prayer for week 8 of the Spring100. May we seek the Lord diligently through His Word and pray that He would give us wisdom [enlarged hearts] to run [not just walk but RUN] swiftly in His commandments!! ? Praying for you all this next week as you set your sights on the finish line and RUN! ??♀️

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1
There are so many brothers and sisters in Christ that have gone before me whose lives encourage me in my daily spiritual race! Their testimonies of God’s provision and faithfulness spur me to press forward with endurance. I think of Stephen in Acts 7 or the Apostle Paul or Corrie Ten Boom or well you get the point ?… I guess that would be the “great cloud of witnesses” referred to in Hebrews 12:1!? Some have already made it to the finish line of life and others are still running with their eyes steadfastly fixed on the prize before them! This brings me to what I want to share with you all for today’s Spring100 post. Sheri introduced me to Gita, our oldest Spring100 participant at 98 years old, who has not only already finished her 100 miles for Spring100 but is running with endurance her spiritual race and living a life that inspires so many! Her testimony of God’s faithfulness throughout her entire life is nearly overwhelming! When Sheri shared Gita’s life story with me, I knew you all would be as blessed as I was by it. So, without further ado, I would love to introduce you all to Gita, a fellow Spring100 walker, encourager, inspiration, and sister in Christ! ?
Gita is almost 98 years old. When she was a young woman, Russian soldiers invaded her country of Estonia. After she endured and survived many weeks of constant bombing of Tallinn, Estonia’s capital where she lived, Gita and what was left of her family fled the country the evening before Russia invaded. They sailing away on a hospital ship called the Moero. But the next morning, out in the Baltic Sea, the Moero was torpedoed by Russian planes, and sank in about 6 minutes, taking nearly 4,000 people onboard down with it, including her first husband. They had been married only one year. Gita and her younger brother, Erich, managed to jump from the sinking ship into separate large life preservers. Gita’s was filled with other people, but her brother’s had only one other man in it. Erich had dreamed the night before that the ship would be sunk and he would die!
Gita life preserver floated away from the 3 boats that came to rescue survivors. After floating in the freezing water for 4 hours, they were picked up by a German U-boat (submarine) and taken to what was then called Gdansk, Poland. Her brother never showed up at the displaced person’s camp, and she learned from witnesses on another rescue ship that the “young man in a life ring with only two men” had fallen from the knotted rescue line they threw to him, and he had been sucked into the ship’s propeller. Gita was devastated. He was her final family member, except for her grandmother who was still in Estonia. She never saw her grandmother again, either.
Gita wandered from one country to the next with no home, no family, no nation; but God always sustained her with several miracles, pulling her from certain death time after time. Finally, she ended up behind the American lines and when WW2 ended, she met an officer that would become her husband and bring her to America! She had 6 children, got saved, and was part of a group of 5 people that started my church back in 1970. She loves the Lord with all her heart, and still serves Him, baking cookies and cakes as gifts for many people, old and young alike. AND she gardens with the flowers she loves, and walks 3 miles a day!
Thank you, Sheri, for taking time to send in Gita’s story! What a blessing. ?? We have some fabulous photos below and this week’s photo theme seems to be “Spring100 meetups”!? Y’all, keep up the fabulous job and enjoy week 7 of your Spring100 walking/running! ?????

As we near the halfway point of the 3rd annual Spring100, I am blown away seeing how the Lord has worked! From what started as a “random” idea back in 2016 to year 3 where we have 4x the number of participants as we did in year 1 of the Spring100 challenge. This is a HUGE group of energetic walkers y‘all!! The Lord God has used and blessed the Spring100 is ways I never imagined and it is beyond humbling to see! That brings me to today’s post. I have 3 BRAND NEW 2018 Spring100 shirts. Last year’s group was large so we did err on the side of caution and order additional shirts in our most popular sizes! The Lord put the idea on my mind to offer them for sale to you all. All proceeds from the sale of these Tshirts will go to purchasing the 2019 Spring100 shirts! So, if you loved the Green and Navy colors from last year(maybe you are like me and accidentally bleached your 2018 shirt in the wash? or you have a friend/family member you know would love it), we have:
1 Female Green XS, 1 Female Green SMALL, and 1 Male Navy LARGE! $30.00 per shirt and FREE SHIPPING!
I will offer these on a first come first serve basis at $30 per shirt. That is including Shipping! First to email me at rachel@shilohphotography.com will be the first to get one of these shirts! I can take payment through PayPal or via money order. If you purchase one of these shirts, you will be contributing to this year’s Spring100 in a fun way! Thank you
Many have asked if there is a way to donate to this Challenge! The 3rd annual Spring100 is the biggest yet and if you feel led to join with us and help cover some of the expenses(purchasing shirts, screen printing, shipping, etc), there are 2 ways you can send a donation!
1.) A Check send via Snail Mail Rachel Leake P.O. Box 78 Sulpher Bluff, TX 75481 2.) PayPal.
I am truly
humbled by your requests to help support this fun challenge. Please
remember, there is no obligation to share financially. Prayers,
participation, and encouragement are true blessing that support
Spring100 in an amazing way!
“And God is able to make
all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in
all things, may abound to every good work” 2 Cor 9:8
