A good thing! 🙌🏻

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High”

Not only is giving thanks God’s Will but it’s a good thing! 🙌🏻 “We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.” Revelations 11:17. God is worthy of ALL praise and continual thanksgiving! So, will you join me in sharing your thanksgivings today?? Counting down to Thanksgiving daily by posting my Thanksgivings and hoping you will join the fun!!😊 Today I am:

1.) THANKFUL that “it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Phil 2:13
2.) I am thankful that salvation is a GIFT from God. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8
3.) Thankful that the Lord is longsuffering and has given me a longsuffering family! Y’all, I need it. ♥️😅 “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” Ps 145:8
4.) Thankful for Soft beds and comfortable pillows! ;) Try sleeping on a hard bed or uncomfortable pillow. It is not fun!🙈
5.) Thankful for Autumn Colors!!! Aren’t they so gorgeous?! 🍂
6.) Thankful for work to daily lay my hands to! And for the Lord giving me the strength and ambition to DO THE NEXT THING. Whatever that may be! 👏🏻 “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…”
7.) Thankful for time spent with family over a meal or before bed talking and sharing about the day’s happenings. That time of fellowship is my favorite! 🧡
8.) Thankful for “diversities of gifts” mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12. “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”! The Lord has given us all different gifts that we may all work together like a “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.”

Y’all, there’s someone to celebrate today and I’m pretty thankful for HIM! 🙌🏻 You guessed it, today’s GIDEON’S 23rd Birthday. 🥳 And it just happens to be his GOLDEN BIRTHDAY(23 years old on the 23rd!)🎉🎉 His rugged good looks, charming smile, great conversational skills, knowledge in just about EVERYTHING[name any topic and he will give you a detailed rundown on it], and tall stature make him unforgettable and very much enjoyed by all! Gideon is firm, consistent, and steady but also extremely sensitive and doubly sweet😁, willing to change his schedule for your needs. AND TODAY is HIS BIRTHDAY!!🎉🎉 In keeping with my daily 5 thanksgivings posts, I am going to share 5 things about Gideon I am thankful for! 😆Ready, set, go:

I hope you all had a truly blessed and refreshing Sunday! 😊🧡 The weather turned off chilly here in East Texas. Very much unexpected but it made the day feel more festive and cozy! 🍂 I can’t tell you all how much I have been blessed and encouraged by YOUR Thanksgivings in the comments. When I get a notification of comment received, I smile and quickly hop on to see who is joining the Thanksgiving countdown fun!! 🙌🏻 TODAY:

1.) I am THANKFUL that the Lord’s mercies are new every single morning! “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
2.) I am THANKFUL that the Lord Jesus Christ saves to the uttermost! That means completely and fully. Our salvation does not hinge on or is not dependent on our own works. We are saved completely by the shed blood of Jesus Christ! “Wherefore HE is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:24
3.) I am THANKFUL for God’s grace which sufficient for the day and whatever it may hold! His strength is perfect!! 🧡 “And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
4.) I am THANKFUL that we are to walk by faith, not by sight!! “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
5.) I am THANKFUL for this new week and the knowledge that the Lord God has it perfectly planned out!! “As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.” Psalm 18:30

I hit the grocery store for our monthly pantry restock with a sister. Y’all, it was busy in the grocery aisles! 🦃 People preparing for thanksgiving feasts and finding their favorite turkey to roast. Abounding with thanksgiving!🙌🏻

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

I am so blessed by those 2 verses a friend shared with me a bit ago!!🧡 We are told to be rooted in Jesus Christ, established in the faith, and to abound in it with thanksgiving! Abound: To be in great plenty; to be very prevalent. I love how Psalm 45 says, “My heart is overflowing with a good theme… My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” The psalmist was so excited to declare the goodness of the Lord God that he described his tongue as the pen of an excited writer… his heart overflowed with a GOOD THEME! ✨May The Lord’s praise be continually in our mouth and may we truly and heartily ABOUND in thanksgiving! “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1! 🙏🏼 Day 2 of Blessing counting here as we Count down to Thanksgiving and as I opened my Bible this morning I was overwhelmed by the priceless gift and treasure God’s Word is!!🙌🏻 So today…..

1.) I am thankful that the Word of God is TRUTH! “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy Word is truth.” John 17:17
2.) I am thankful that the Word of God “is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”! How amazing and true is that?! “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Heb 4:12
3.) I am thankful that God’s Word gives understanding to the simple. <3 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalm 119:130
4.) I am thankful that “ faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
5.) I am thankful that the Word of God gives us HOPE! “Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.” Psalm 119:49

6.) BONUS! 😉🎉 I am thankful for Friday!! For the Lord’s mercies in this week and bringing us through and to another weekend. He is faithful!!🙌🏻 With that being said, random photos from my week. The loveliest floral package found its way to my mailbox today and was such a surprise(how I love postal surprises💌😍🙌🏻). “What was inside??” you may be wondering. 😊 An extremely thought-filled gift! Caroline is the master of hand lettering and knew I was interested in learning. So she sent me a few of her favorite hand-lettering tools with an encouraging note included. WOW! What a huge daymaker!! 🥰 Though we’ve never met in person, Caroline has been a sweet encouragement and blessing in my life and I thank the Lord for her! Thank you, Caroline.🧡 The Lord has used your act of kindness to bless me in a very special way! 😊

It is Nahum 1:3, “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.” How is that for amazing truth?!The Lord God has His way! Reminds me of Job 42:2 as it says, “I know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from Thee.” or as one translation reads, “no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” Praise the Lord, we can rest confident in that truth! 🙏🏼🙌🏻🧡

Full Joy + November Days! ✨🍂

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalm 16:11

🌬🍂🍃In a blink, the warm Texas weather changed with a blustery breeze! Leaves began to fall and moody rain soon followed. As I looked out the window and spotted a glimmer of Autumn goodness, I quickly grabbed my sister’s farm boots and strapped on my camera. ✨ Determined to meet this golden glimmer, I trudged through the overgrown pastures and found my way to the distant tree line to capture it! Perhaps your Autumn colors are different? More vibrant or richer but for me, these tiny touches of Rustic North-East Texas Autumn fill my heart with gladness😍. Perhaps I am just dealing with a bit of November nostalgia?😉 So often beauty is found right in our own “back yard” isn’t it?! Just takes a little hike through the muddy field to find it. The beauty of God’s creation never ceases to amaze me!🍁 “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.”(1 Chron 16:31) As I made the long walk back to the house through the mist that unexpectedly turned to pouring rain [all while I was being chased by a few dozen hens thinking I was there to feed them😅🐓], I was reminded that full JOY is found in the presence of The Lord God! “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” And not only full joy is promised BUT also “pleasrues for evermore”! FULLNESS OF JOY and ETERNAL PLEASURES are given to the believer and can be yours! “It arises from, and is increased by discoveries of the person, grace, blood, righteousness, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Savior”! It is lasting and surpasses the fleeting feelings or emotions or circumstances. I love John 15:11 as Jesus Christ says, “These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your JOY might be FULL.” FULL and lasting JOY is found in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed”(1 Peter 2:24)! So, in need of a little joy today? Look to your Savior, the Satisfier of your Soul, and open His Living Word. “…Thy Word was unto me the JOY and REJOICING of mine heart”(Jer 15:16)! “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3). That is my random Monday thought with a touch of Texas autumn woven in.😉🍂✨ QUESTION! What verses are you meditating on and rejoicing in today? Well now! I am glad to find myself at another Random Question Wednesday.😍 Isn’t it amazing to make it through a week and then looking back see the abundant goodness and leading of our Lord and Savior?! I am so thankful for the truth found in Isaiah 48: 17 as it says, “I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.” He teaches us to “profit”(or as one translation says, “who teaches you what is good”) and leads us in the way we should go! Aren’t you glad for the leading and directing of the Sovereign and gracious Lord? I sure am!!🧡 Reminds me of a verse a friend shared with me this week, “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” Is 41:13. 😊 Because of this truth, we can confidently face the days ahead with joy and gladness of heart, fully trusting the Lord with the path He has each one of us on.“He knoweth the way that I take”(Job 23:10)!!🙏🏼 Praise the Lord, HE is faithFUL! 😃 And now I get to have a little midnight fun with Random Questions! Introducing this handsome fellow! 😍

Y’all, introductions to Winston are long past due for that, I am terribly sorry!🙈 His full name is Winston Merrylegs but his friends call him Winnie. 😉 3 feet tall and stately as can be, this adorable Mini Horse stole our hearts the moment he arrived and has found his new home in our pasture under Emmi’s faithful care! In his mind, he is “Prince of the pasture” and prefers to be treated as such! The newest addition to our small Farm Life. Helpful tip: offer him a handful of oats and a good back rub. If you follow this advice, you are sure to become the best of friends in a blink! 😁🧡

Random Question Wednesday!

Well y’all…. I missed last week’s Random Question Wednesday tremendously! With a few big happenings taking place, I had to prioritize and it had to be postponed. 😭 But have no fear🙌🏻, Wednesday is here(glances at the clock and notices it’s officially past midnight… err Ok, we will call it a Wednesday-Thursday😉) and so is this week’s Random Question Wednesday post!!👏🏻🎉 But first, I wanted to leave y’all with a verse that has been encouraging my heart this week. It was sent to me by 2 sweet friends on the same day and how I was blessed by it. The verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Aren’t you thankful that because of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross, we have an expected end? And for the thoughts of peace The Lord God has toward us? For those of us who have(by the grace of God) repented of our sins and surrendered our lives to Christ, He is our Peace(Eph 2:14) and our expected end is eternal life in heaven with our Lord and Savior. “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(John 3:16) “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”(Romans 5:1)!! That is my super random and very quick midnight thought before I jump into the random questions! 😄🧡

Oh, Happy DAY!!😃🎉 Y’all, I’ve been looking forward to sharing this blog post!!! Today is a day truly worth bloggin’… Today I get to celebrate my gorgeous Mother on her birthday!❤️🤩😍 I’m thanking the Lord for the years of life He has given my mom and her faithful service to me and soooooo many others. So much could be said about my mom! Her hourly dedicated service to her family, baking-crafting-homemaking skills, encouragement, and friendship is a blessing that cannot be expressed! Y’all, it’s time to say… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!🥳 Yes, we have a birthday Lady to celebrate today and I am tickled pink to be blogging all about HER.👏🏻 19 years old today and as lovely as can be… you guessed it!!!😍 Today is Ruth’s Birthday! 🎉 Time to let you know a little bit about this beautiful lady… Y’all, she’s a gem. 💎 Ruth is a gifted artist and creates the most lovely watercolor paintings! She’s also our bonafide farm gal through and through. She’s up at the break of dawn, rain or shine, feeding chickens, hauling water, helping with the sheep, gathering eggs, and keeping the farmyard clean! 🐓🥚 When the season is right, she’s busy hatching out chicks and ensuring they safely find their way to the chicken coop. 🐣 Ruth is diligent, thoughtful, faithful, determined, consistent, creative, and kind!🎈 She blesses so many with her God-given gifts and I am so thankful for HER! Happy Birthday, Ruth!! 🎉🎉 I hope your day is the BEST YET with many many more to come! May your days overflow with abundance and blessings as you continue to seek and serve the Lord God. Phew! 😅 It’s been an interesting day and a busy work week! I am exhausted but grateful. Isn’t it such a blessing to have work to put your hands to? Whether it’s cleaning the kitchen or running a small business or getting to the grocery store for a month grocery run, I am always thankful for the work the Lord gives me to do. I love Ecclesiastes 9:10 where it says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…”. AND then my mind quickly makes a dash to the New Testament where we are reminded, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” NOOOOOW I find myself with a little time for a fun Random Question Wednesday post before I head off to bed. 🙌🏻 If you aren’t familiar with these posts, here is how it works:

To my favorite 9 year old! 🥳🎉

Well, well, well…. there’s a birthday to celebrate and it just so happens it’s the birthday of my favorite youngest sister…. You guessed it, today is Emmi’s Birthday!! 🥳🎉 Put on the party hats and grab a piece of the birthday cake because this lovely lady turns 9 at exactly 4:27am today! 🎂🎈Now that you have your party hats on and the cake in hand, It’s time to tell you a little more about the birthday girl. 😍 Oh, where do I begin?! ❤️️🙌🏻 Emmi loves all things horses, cats, dogs, bunnies, and any other cute animal that comes her way! Althletic and energetic, Emmaus is an outdoor enthusiast and would spend the entire day outside reading in the hammock, bike riding, swimming, and running the day away if allowed. 😁 When not diligently finishing her schoolwork or outside enjoying the autumn weather(her favorite season), Emmi can be found faithfully replying to penpals and writing cards and sending them off to friends and family, or helping with household chores!🙌🏻 She’s such a huge encouragement and tremendous blessing to our family and I am so thankful to the Lord for her! 💗 Happy BIRTHDAY EMMI!! 🎉🎉 Hope your day is filled to the brim with birthday excitement and the years to come overflowing with the goodness of God. 💁🏼‍♀️Y’all know the rules!!
