My {Future} Home | Randomness from my weekend

“Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established”
Proverbs 16:3

I have never been one to sit around and day dream about what my future home would look like or how I would like to decorate it but I have always been in love with old barns and thought  about how fun it would be to live in one someday!! Yesterday my lovely sister, Micah, and I spent the entire morning/afternoon shopping which is strange because I am not very fond of shopping but I enjoyed myself 185%! :) I walked through this gorgeous store with delightful dishes! Yep, dishes. :) I get inspired by dishes! ;) Annnd I started thinking about how much I would love to decorate my {future} home barn with those dishes… one day{I will have to start saving my pennies}!  But for today I am happy just sharing some {future} home inspiration with y’all and a few random shopping {iphone} pictures from the weekend! :)

Side note: As I live one day at a time, trusting in the Lord’s provision{Luke 12:28}, I may never live in a lovely old barn or buy those beautiful dishes {both of which I am totally and completely okay with} but couldn’t help putting a random happy post up this beautiful Sunday evening! :)
First off, my {future} barn home! ;)barnhomerachel

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. let’s just say I love everything about this post…!!! a barn home with super cute dishes would be SO fun! and see–you enjoy shopping more than you would admit ;)

    1. I’m working on liking shopping! ;) Glad you like it Hannah! I’ll invite you over once I fix the leak in the roof. ;)

  2. Dishes inspire me too! Mmmm…Panera souffles? I want to go shopping with you all sometime and I don’t like shopping myself! :P
The barn looks rather like the one we just tore down, only bigger. We’ve talked about living in a barn as well. I think it’d be so fun to restore some unusual building and use it for a home – lighthouse, old church, castle, barn, etc. It is fun to think about. :D
And I love your side note, Rachel. Living one day at a time, seeking His face every moment. I think He cherishes a heart like that.

    1. We could start a dish fan club!?!? ;D You can come shopping with us ANYTIME!! Just bring your sisters and mom!! :D
I have seen some beautiful old churches turned into homes. SO gorgeous! Very fun to think about!

And thank you! There is such beauty and peace in living one day at a time trusting Christ to provide… consider the lilies! :) <3

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

  3. Hi Rachel ! Great post with lots of lovely pictures ! I love barns but I’m not quite sure I’d adventurous enough to live in one ! But country living is definitly is favorite of mine (though for the time present I enjoy living close to Paris and being only 15 minutes away from my lab where I work ;-)
Have a fantastic week, I’m looking forward more posts!

    1. Hello Marie! :) Barn living would be extremely fun but also a lot of work to get one livable! A fun challenge and definitely an adventure! I don’t blame you for enjoying living so close to Paris!! Perhaps I will have to come and visit you one day! ;) Yes, I love the country too although living in the city has it’s perks!
As always, I enjoy receiving comments from my french friend! Lord willing, there will be many more posts on my blog in the near future! :) God bless you this new week, Marie!

  4. I want to see your house someday! ;) Lovely…truly. Love the colors, the dishes…and you know, dishes are a great inspiration piece for the rest of the design to work around. =)

    1. If ever I am blessed by the Lord with a house to use those beautiful dishes in, you are invited to come for a visit. :) AND help me decorate!!! ;)

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
