Sharper than any two-edged sword | The Bible

A cup of hot tea sweetened with raw honey to sooth an unkind cold {yes, in a snowflake mug. As the northerners get to enjoy a bit of spring snow, I enjoy my snowflakes parading themselves across a mug…. I’m a Texan. :)} and the Word of God. The only Book that is “living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The only Book that promises “it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” They only book that “is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”. It is a lamp unto our feet & light unto our path…. Don’t neglect it!

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to Thy Word.”
Psalm 119:9

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. What a beautiful post, Rachel! Thank you for sharing. God’s Word is one of the most precious gifts we have, and certainly a responsibility we have to seek it! Wish I could send some snow your way; enjoy your warm weather for us. :) Psalms 125:1. “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” Praying for you!

    1. Thank you for your beautiful comment, Sarah! And for that verse and your faithful continued prayers{they have meant so much to me the past few months}. All have encouraged me today! :)
God’s word is a priceless gift. A treasure worth digging into! It leads, encourages, admonishes, soothes a hurting heart better than any cup of tea can ever do, and is filled full of so many promises that a child of the King can’t help but rejoice when reading through His word! :)
“God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: has He said, and shall He not do it? or has He spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:19

  2. Rachel,

I have visited your blog and love your artistic eye with photography! Beautiful!

I have a question. I notice you highlight in your Bible using different colors. Do they have a significance? Help you categorize? Right now I just use a yellow highlighter, nut would love a more organized, meaningful approach to my highlighting.

    Just curious!

    1. Hello Trish! :)
Thank you for your kind words. Such an encouragement and blessing to hear!

I have heard of people using different colors of highlighters to categorize verses. I actually hadn’t heard about it until I had used practically every color in the rainbow to highlight verses that stood out to me. :) So, no significance to color in this bible but I do plan on doing that as soon as this bible is old and tattered from use!

Have a blessed day, Trish!! Thank you for stopping by. :)

  3. Sigh. Should be ‘but I would love a more organized approach’. Using an iPad to type is always challenging for me!!
