Yet will I trust in Him…

I am reading through Job at the moment and ran across Job 13:15 last night:

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him”

Job 13:15

Beautiful isn’t it? For me, yes! :) Then it reminded me of Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.” Yes, this is all very random(my writing is always a bit random) but I couldn’t help but share this verse from Job. I pray that even though He may “slay” me, I still will trust in Him. We truly serve an Awesome God! (: I also found a short 5 minute clip of a message from Voddie Baucham that goes perfectly with this. I have posted it bellow my picture! Have a blessed evening. :)

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
Psalm 9:10

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Incredible, Rachel! Thank you SO much for sharing this verse. I am reading in Job as well, and his great faith in God has been a challenge to me right now. Job’s trials were probably the worst things any human being would ever face, besides Christ Himself at the Cross, because God had given Satan all power to do what he could to make him curse God (Job 6:4). The first things he said following such things were, Job 1:21: “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” and Job 2:9: “What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” Job’s faith was such that in his darkest trial, he still trusted God. What is the first thing I say when some tragedy strikes or something happens that shatters my world? Do I fall on my knees and bless the holy name of God? Thank you for sharing this verse and the timely message clip. May your new year be blessed as you trust in our God, Rachel!

    “Our call is to trust God at all times–whether good or bad. For even if sorrow should enter our home, He is able, even in the midst of sorrow, to make our home-life sweeter, purer, and more Christ-like.” -J.R. Miller

  2. Thank you, Sarah, for your encouraging comment! It is so good to hear form you. You always leave me basking in the goodness of our Savior. I have been thinking on a portion of Job 1:2 & psalm 34:1 quite a bit lately:

    “Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
    And naked shall I return there.
    The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
    Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

    “…I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth”

    Isn’t it so true and beautiful!?! God is so good and has been teaching me to fall on my knees before Him during the good & the hard times and praise His blessed name as of late. Blessed be the name of the LORD! :) Thank you again, Sarah! I pray that this new year is filled to the brim with blessings for you. It has already promised to be a good year for the both of us as we are in Christ and being led by a Perfect Shepherd!

  3. I’ve been reading Job too. Caleb was reading his Bible in chronological order and I joined him. So many scriptures have come alive to me this time, and I’m finding such beauty in Job, like never before. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him” has always been one of my most cherished scriptures.

    1. I had never noticed Job 13:15 until this time through Job. It is now a favorite for me! This time around Job has definitely been revealed to me more than ever before. :) I am thankful for that!!
