“Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.”
Psalm 40:5
When you have too many titles and can’t choose one…. π You title your blog post “Too Many Titles”.π This, my friends, is a very random post! I first thought I would title this post “Knock, Knock.. anybody out there?” as I have been rather quiet here on the blog for quite some time. π€Then I thought “Well, Hello Fall!ππ” would be a fabulous title as we’ve officially entered the Autumn Season!! BUT then I remembered today is national coffee day and thought why not title this post “Happy Coffee Day!” π Oh my. Life lately can only be summed up in “Too many titles”!π It’s so hard to believe it’s been a month since my last post! The Lord has kept my hands busy with a large 6-week work project that was just completed in His strength and by His grace! One of the first things on my mind to do once that project was finished was to sit down and say hello to you all! How have you been? I’ve missed popping in and hearing from you!! It is quite surreal to find myself here at the end of September. I look back over the past 9 months of 2021 and see the Lord’s grace and feel His strength wrapped up in every single day! God’s goodness never ceases to amazing me!! And here we are. β¨π We’ve welcomed the glorious Autumn season. Golden leaves, crisp morning air, breathtaking autumn sunsets. Creation burst forth in magnificent beauty, displaying its brilliant colors as it declares its Maker’s praise! So, my friends, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section!! How have YOU been? How about a few Random Questions for this Wednesday having to do with all things fall, life, and (seeing it’s National coffee day)coffee. ππ Make my day by dropping a note and letting me know you’re still checking in here on the blog!! I will be so blessed to see you pop in.ππΌββοΈ Lord willing, as I get back to a normal work schedule, I won’t be so quiet in the days to come!!ππΌππ»π
Random Question Wednesday:
- What is your favorite thing about Autumn?? i.e. crisp mornings, crunchy leaves, sweater weather, etc.
- What is your favorite Hot Autumn Drink?
- What are you looking forward to most this Autumn?
- Are you a fellow Coffee Enthusist??πβοΈ If so, do you enjoy it best black or with cream and sugar?
- What scripture has the Lord used to encourage your heart as of late?
And how about a few autumn-themed photos to finish off this random post? πΈπππΌββοΈ
βBut unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.β
ββHebrewsβ¬ β1:8-12
I love reading your posts, Rachel! They’re such fun!!! π
My favorite thing about fall is all the leaves changing from green to red, yellow, brown, gold and orange. I live in the mountains so we get lots of variety and it just amazes me so much. God is so creative!!! π
Homemade hot apple cider is my favorite drink in the fall. My sister makes it the best!
Coffee isn’t really my thing but if you add a little coffee to a cup of cream and sugar that tastes really good! π
A scripture the Lord has been encouraging me with lately is from Psalm 18:30-31. “This God–his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?” May we all learn to trust Him as our God whose way is perfect, even if we don’t understand what He’s doing. He is the only God, our rock; may we take refuge in Him alone!!
I LOVE receiving your comments, Joy!! THANK YOU for making my day by leaving one.β₯οΈπ€
ππ I bet the autumn colors are outrageously gorgeous in your area!!! Yes, He is so truly creative and gives us so much beauty to soak up. πππ» Oh, our family loves hot apple cider toooooo. Mmmm can’t wait for it to cool off so we can have some! βοΈ
BEAUTIFUL beautiful verses from Psalm 18, JOY!! Thank you for sharing. Yes, may we trust Him who is faithful! His way is so so so perfect! I can testify to that truth over and again in my life!! ππΌ
Hi, Rachel! I had to laugh at your ‘Too Many Titles’ explanation. As a writer, I get you totally. (I loved all the potential titles.) Love, love, love the pictures!!!!!
1. Fav Autumn thing: cooler, dryer weather! (Wish we had changing leaves in Florida. Here they just die and drop off.)
2. Fav Autumn hot drink: turkey bone broth using my own recipe! Yum! (Store-bought bone broth is really bland.)
Bone Broth Recipe:
Crock Pot on low for 15 hours
12 cups cold water
Turkey (or chicken) carcass, defatted
3 Tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp sea salt (or pink Himalayan salt)
1 Tbsp Bragg Sprinkle (24 herbs)
1/2 tsp ground pepper
Add 2 – 4 cups additional water, if needed, to cover bones while simmering
Ladle into jars using a fine-mesh sieve
Cool and refrigerate
3. Looking forward to most this Autumn: going to see my little brother in prison!! I haven’t seen him in over two years because of COVID lockdowns. He’s in a better prison now, called an “incentive prison” one that is exclusively for non-violent and well behaved criminals. His other prison was notoriously bad – lots of murders and violence and even corruption among the guards. It was oppressive and difficult to visit him there. Looking forward to this time; getting my car ready for the trip!
4. My church has two Sunday morning services, preached by both pastors, then we get together in the Fellowship Hall for lunch and visiting. That’s when I enjoy my once-a-week cup of coffee! It’s a real treat. At my age, coffee isn’t the healthiest thing to drink, but I don’t miss it the rest of the week.
5. Encouraging recent verse: I’m writing a book that is taking from 5 to 12 hours a day. I started it a month ago last Sunday, and I’m already nearly done with chapter 11, plus the prologue. It’s pouring out of me. I can’t stop the deluge. Today’s section includes the first violent death of the story. Setting: My main character and the one that is going to be martyred, have just sung a hymn together. I will record that because it’s on my heart and has encouraged me so much:
Abide with meβfast falls the eventide,
The darkness deepensβLord with me abide;
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me!
Sheri!!ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ So glad you can understand my title. π Sometimes there is just too much to blog about and too many topics to narrow it down to one title!π
Your dryer weather sounds lovely!! Autumn brings a rainy, wet season here. I do very much prefer dry days but will have to rejoice in the Autumn rain and wetness! π§π
Your favorite Autumn drink has to be the most unique I have heard! WOW, sounds like it is packed full of health benefits!!! π§‘
Ah, praise the Lord!!! SO excited for you to finally be able to visit your brother again. AND the blessing of his being moved to a safer facility. I am praying that trip and your time together is blessed!ππΌ
Your Sunday morning cup of coffee during fellowship sounds absolutely lovely! πβοΈ
I had no idea you were writing a book!π± What a huge undertaking but you’ve already made it quite a ways through. Way to go!!! Mm…. love that hymn so much. “Help of the helpless, O abide with me!” YES! Amen. ππ» Help of the helpless. So thankful for that!!
Thank you for blessing me with your comment, Sheri!! I am always so encouraged to hear from you!!ππΌββοΈπβ₯οΈ

Oooooh! Your trip to NC for the retreat sounds like itβs going to be so fun and such a beautiful time of year to travel that direction toooooo!πβ₯οΈπ
So good to have another post Rachel!!πβ€π€πΈ I love Psalm 40:5 and it was such an encouragement to me!!π€π
Hmm…My favorite thing about Autumn is everything having to do with Autumn!!β€πππβ€πππ The colors, the crunchy leaves and crisp mornings, getting to wear my fuzzy sweaters and jackets, πsnuggling in blankets with my little siblings outside on the porch in the morning, the delightful smell of Autumn which is hard to explain but you’ll know what I’m talking about if you like “smells” of the different seasons…πππππ
My favorite hot Autumn drink would have to be fresh apple cider with a cooked orange slice in it or just good old faithful tea…I always love tea anytime of the year!!β€βπ΅πππ
Hmm…I’m not really sure what I’m looking forward to doing this Autumn. Probably just taking pictures of the gorgeous colors and enjoying the lovely weather and breezes and fuzzy sweaters!β€ππππ I’m looking forward to a harvest barn that we’re going to tomorrow with a pumpkin patch, corn maze, crafts, etc. with some friends and then having a picnic afterwards.πππππΈ
YES!! I’m a fellow coffee enthusiast!!β€βπ I LOVE coffee though I only have it like 5 times a year and it’s a special treat but I love it for sure! and I like it with cream and sugar.π
A scripture that has encouraged me recently was.
But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10
Lovely pictures by the way!! The colors are *stunning* and give such a Autumn vibe.β€πππβ€πππ
Caroline!!!!ππΌββοΈπβ₯οΈ
Your comment was filled full of Autumn goodness!!! π€ YES, I know the smell of Autumn well. π It is a delicious fresh crispness mingled with the smell of golden leaves and a touch of spice that fills the air!! ππ I think it is more present up north than it is here in Texas but I know it well!
Oh!! You chose my favorite verse, Caroline! π That verse is the reason I love the color gold so much. A beautiful reminder that He knows what our future holds and is creating in us pure gold! We can face the trials of our faith with joyful confidence because of that truth!! “Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” 1 Peter 1:6-7
Amen!!πI love those verses!!πAnd you described the smell of Fall wonderfully!!β€πππ
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.β
Joshua 1:9

Just letting you know that I still read your blog and LOVE it!!! <3
Aw, praise the Lord. π€ Thank you so much for your encouragement!!!
Ahhhh, Rachel!!!! I’ve SO missed reading your posts!!!!! So excited to get to read this one + answer your questions!!!!!!
1. My favorite thing about autumn is for sure the GORGEOUS leaves! There’s not much that pleases the eye more then the stunning shades of red and gold that the leaves turn to π
2. My favorite hot autumn is coffee π
3. I’m mostly looking forward to the cooler weather! It’s nice to have a break from the exhausting Texas heat! ππ₯
4. Yes! I am very much a coffee enthusiast! And I definitely prefer it black, although sugar and cream is nice upon occasionβββ
5. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.”
(Philippians 4:6β-β¬10) this passage has been of great encourage to me lately! What about you????
