Random Question Wednesday!πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Phew! πŸ˜… It’s been an interesting day and a busy work week! I am exhausted but grateful. Isn’t it such a blessing to have work to put your hands to? Whether it’s cleaning the kitchen or running a small business or getting to the grocery store for a month grocery run, I am always thankful for the work the Lord gives me to do. I love Ecclesiastes 9:10 where it says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…”. AND then my mind quickly makes a dash to the New Testament where we are reminded, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” NOOOOOW I find myself with a little time for a fun Random Question Wednesday post before I head off to bed. πŸ™ŒπŸ» If you aren’t familiar with these posts, here is how it works:

  2. What can you do today that you were not capable of 4 years ago?
  3. Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?

Would you rather Name the animals or build the ark?

Can’t wait to hear your answer!! πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ And while you’re at it, if time allows, let me know how your week has been and what has kept your hands busy. Would love to hear! 🧑 Happy Wednesday πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. 1) 😩I have nooooo idea!!! I am not good at any sports, but if I were an athlete, I suppose I would choose swimming πŸ˜‚
    2) Oh wow! That’s a really good question! Hmm…… There are tons of things I can do that I couldn’t 4 years ago, but the one I appreciate the most by far is being able to play hymns on piano!
    3) I’ve always wanted to learn to sew! And I have done that because I don’t really have anyone to teach me, and I’m too chicken to try teaching myself πŸ˜‹

WOW!! I would rather build the ark if I had people to help me, but since help with that isn’t in likely, I guess I’d name the animals! πŸ˜ƒ

Rachel!!!! This is the best set of questions yet!!!! Loved them all!

I especially love all the verses you shared! They were such a huge encouragement to me!! Thank you!!!!!! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»

    1. 😁 I could see you being a great swimmer!! Maybe even a tennis player?! We could be a Team.πŸŽΎπŸ˜‰
I am so glad you have learned to play the piano and those hymns. It has been a blessing to listen to!! 🎢
Oooh! #3 is good! Yes, “too chicken to try teaching myself”… I know that feeling! πŸ˜†

Aw, SOOOO thankful you enjoyed the post and the verses!! I had so much fun putting them together and always look forward to your answers, Anna! 😊❀️

    2. Okay! I’ll tell you how my week has been now…. (I was going to yesterday, but I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open, so I decided to wait πŸ€£πŸ˜‹)

My week has been great!!!! So, so blessed! The Lord is so good, even in the many challenges I’ve had lately! πŸ™ŒπŸ»β€οΈ

I’ve been doing schoolwork (for the first time in over three weeks! Yay!!!! I missed it πŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ), crocheting, cooking, baking, reading, writing letters, writing in my journal, making cards, playing hymns on piano, practicing guitar, and coloring! plus I went on a couple walks with my mom in the lovely cool weather! So I’ve been decently busy! 😁

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
      ” Colossians 3:16‭-‬17

  2. Hmm….I don’t really play sports and I’m not good at the many I’ve played but I might choose swimming(though I’m terrible at it!) and then I could learn to swim better while I as competing!! 😁😁

Wow!!! That’s a really hard question!! Maybe Hand-lettering… I’m not sure how long I’ve been learning that…I’m actually not sure it’s been 4 years. Umm….I can lift a 25 pound weight over my head with one hand 10 times in a row and I DEFINTELY couldn’t do that 4 years ago!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

Something I’ve dreamed of doing for a long time is going to Scotland and I haven’t gone there because it’s a lot of trouble to take our whole family to Scotland so Daddy is taking us in ”Batches” every 6 years! XD He’s already taken my 4 older sibling to Scotland, England, Whales, and Ireland so I’m going to be the oldest on the next trip!! Fun Fun!!!!! I can’t wait!!!!!

I would much rather build the Ark I think!! XD I think it would be really hard to think of names for ALL the animals and this past year we built some additions on to our 4 cabin rentals and I helped almost constantly with that with my Daddy and my brother right under me and an Amish carpenter that was helping us and I found out that I REALLY like construction!!!! Or maybe it was just being with Daddy…But no, I LOVE hard, strenuous, heavy work anyway even before I helped with that and I really enjoyed that A LOT!!! I learned SO VERY much!!! I think that’s also part of the reason that I can now lift the 25 pound weight!!😁😁 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚So I think I would enjoy building the Ark more than naming all the animals! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

This week has been full of cleaning our rental cabins, cleaning our house, cooking and baking, taking LOTS of pictures of the Fall colors here on Ohio, feeding our cats, more cleaning cabins, watching little siblings, and getting over a small cold we’ve had the last few days. It’s been a lot busier than it sounds!!

Such Fun Questions Rachel!!!!! 😁 You always think of such good questions!!!😁

Do you like Chocolate Cake or Pumpkin Pie better??

Would you rather have all traffic lights you approach be green or never have to stand in line again?

Would you rather have an easy job working for someone else or work for yourself but work incredibly hard?

Have a lovely day everyone!!!!!!! πŸ˜πŸ˜ƒπŸ™‚πŸ˜πŸ˜ƒπŸ™‚

    1. That 25lb weight is quite a feat!! That is a good amount of weight for 1 hand. πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ˜ƒ

WOW!!!!!!! That trip with your father sounds absolutely out of this world exciting!!! 😍😍😍 You will have such a fabulous time!!!

Haha, I do agree! I would rather build the ark rather than name the animals. πŸ˜‰ I am not super creative when it comes to names but I do like to work hard! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Your week sounds BUSY and productive!!!! I bet the Fall colors are just gorgeous there now. 😍 πŸ‚ So glad y’all are getting over that cold! ❀️

Aw, glad you enjoyed the questions, Caroline!!!!! I love reading your answers.😁 OHHH! You have some great questions too. Let me see…..

Do you like Chocolate Cake or Pumpkin Pie better??
CHOCOLATE CAKE for sure!! I am not a huge fan of pumpkin pie.πŸ₯§πŸ˜

Would you rather have all traffic lights you approach be green or never have to stand in line again?
I will go with never have to stand in line again!! Sometimes those red lights give me a minute to grab a drink of water or coffee! πŸ˜‰

Would you rather have an easy job working for someone else or work for yourself but work incredibly hard?
Now, this is a fun one! I love hard work and end a day feeling utterly exhausted from tons of good work! I’m currently blessed to be β€œself-employed” too. My job isn’t incredibly hard but it usually entails long workdays. Soooo…. I will go with working for myself and working incredibly hard!

Hope you had a FABULOUS Thursday, Caroline!! Thank you for making my day with your comment.πŸ’—πŸ˜„

  3. 1. I actually trained for the Olympics in my high school years because my family, most especially my dad, were into running. I was pretty fast, and had good endurance. Back in those days athletes were still trying to be the first to break the 4 minute mile. I knew I could never be that fast, but I got down in the mid-six minute range. I lived in a small town in California growing up, and couldn’t find anyone interested in coaching me, so I never made it beyond track and field, and my parents’ approval. Which, in retrospect, is good enough for me. So…I would have run distance, sprint or relay. (My dream sport would have been downhill skiing, which I enjoyed when I lived for 3 years as a young adult in Denver, CO.)

    2. I don’t know of anything that I can do now that I couldn’t do 4 years ago. Honestly, I’m probably more in my twilight years of being able to do less and less, than adding new skills. I’m not feeling sorry for myself, just telling the truth. :-)

    3. I’m a very contented homebody. No dreams, except a longing for loved ones to be saved, and my extended family to one day be united in love. That’s going to take the Lord. :-)

    4. I would rather name all the animals! I love words and I love animals. To be able to see them ALL, and to interact with them, and have the amazing privilege of naming them would be wonderful!

Fun questions, Rachel! Love your picture! Is that your hand? :-)

    1. I loved reading your answers, Sheri! πŸ’— So fun to hear about your experience training for the Olympics. That is incredible!! And your mid-6-minute mile is fast!!😱

2 makes sense!! I actually had a hard time trying to answer that question myself!

That is a good longing! Yes, that is the Lord’s doing. Continue to shine the light of Christ to them!!πŸ™πŸΌ

I have a feeling you would do a great job in the animal naming department!😍😁

Aw, thank you for taking time to answer, Sheri!! πŸ’ž Yep, that is my hand. I set up the trypod and set the timer for that shot.πŸ˜‰
      Have a lovely evening!!

  4. If you were an Olympic athlete, what sport would you compete in? Well, I’m not good at any sports, so I guess running would be best. I do know how to do that! πŸ˜‚

What can you do today that you were not capable of 4 years ago?
I can play tin whistle, and I probably didn’t even know what that was 4 years ago.

Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?
Getting more fluent in Spanish. It’s quite challenging and I’m at the point of just needing to knuckle down and learn verb conjugation. I haven’t been to Mexico in over 2 years, so my incentive has kind of gone down. I was also planning to exchange English lessons for Spanish with someone at church, but the virus hasn’t allowed for that right now.

Would you rather Name the animals or build the ark?
I would rather name the animals!! I love naming pets and take a long time deciding. It would be fun having a lot of animals to name!

Thank you for the fun questions, Rachel!

    1. πŸ˜†πŸ’– I found out the other day that ping pong is an Olympic sport so maybe we Should form a team and see if we can make it. πŸ˜…πŸ“πŸ˜‰

If that is what you were playing in the video you shared last year, you play beautifully!! 😍

πŸ™β€οΈ Keep on pressing forward!!! I can imagine learning the ins a outs of a new language would be quite a mental exercise!!

Aw, THANK YOU for taking time to answer Bethany!!!!❀️ So enjoyed reading your answers!! ☺️

      1. Great idea, Rachel!! I’m on for the ping pong. That’s a “sport” I love. :D Thank you for your encouraging reply!! :) <3

  5. I’m finally answering the questions now😊

1)I’m not really good at any sports or enjoy them; so maybe, running?πŸ€”
    2) Well there is a lot of things I’ve learned in the last 4 years, but one of the bigger ones, at least to me is learning handlettering! I only really got into that last fall.
    3) Something I’ve always wanted to do is go skydiving😝 I guess why I haven’t done it is because it’s pretty expensive and I don’t think my Mom would let meπŸ™ˆ

I would much rather name the animals! My younger brother and I always invent new words, so I think inventing names would be really funπŸ˜†

As to what I’ve been busy with recently; my older brother and his fiancee decided to advance their wedding date by 6 weeks (November 28 to October 18). So that’s coming up in 8 days now and wedding and food prep are in full craze right now. But’s it been really fun😊

Question for you Rachel; what kind of business do you own?

    These questions were really fun!😁

    1. Oooh! I do love to see those who can perfect hand lettering!! 😍It is a beautiful skill that can be used to bless many. 😁🧑

      🀣 I don’t blame your mother!!! πŸ™ˆπŸ˜±πŸ˜‰

Oh wow!!! That change of dates had to throw some excitement into your week. Sounds busy but so fun!!! ☺️❀️ What a blessed time for you all. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Answer for you: handmade women’s Headwraps and hair accessors. It is a business my sister and I started 14 years ago and the Lord has been gracious to bless it and allow us to work full time doing it since. Very thankful for His provision! πŸ™πŸ§‘

Thank you so much for your fun answers and question!! Loved hearing from you. πŸ€—πŸ€—

  6. Thanks to those that took the time to answer this week! I really enjoy reading everyone’s comments, and Rachel’s answers to all of us!! :-D

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
