And for the THANK YOU!! β€οΈ Today I was extremely blessed by the gracious hospitality of my sweet friends Anna and family who knows me so well that they made a gorgeous “dessert buffet” and an extra-strong pot of coffee for the visit. π Isn’t it so fun when Blog readers/Spring100ers become dearest of friends and you find you live nearby?! Thank you, Anna, for having me over and the fun morning spent sipping coffee, eating homemade cupcakes + cookies, and good conversation with your family! You truly blessed me beyond words and made me feel so special. ππ§ “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you”Philippians 1:3! Y’all, I was so into the visit(ahem, and cupcakes π) that I didn’t grab a selfie so the picture of the dessert table will have to be my picture proof of a perfect visit!
“For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:8-10
Ooooo! #1 is a hard one!!!!!!!! π€ Okay, maybe……I love the sound of coyotes howling, and it usually puts me to sleep! ππΊ
2) Rachel probably already knows this one, but for everyone else……. Baking and cooking!!!!!! πππ»πππ»
3) “In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
” Psalms 94:14 &
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
” Romans 8:28
I would rather grow my own food! I don’t really know how to sew other than basic hand sewing ππΆπ
Aaaaawwwwwwww!!!!!!!!! Rachel I was SO blessed to have you over!!!!! You have no idea how much I appreciate you coming!!!!!! π You have been such an ENORMOUS blessing to me, and all of us!π I’m so glad we live fairly close to each other so we can have visits like this! The Lord has truly blessed me with you and your sisters β€οΈπ€
Thank you for the fun post!!!! This is the best set of questions yet!!!
Anna!!! Those cupcakes look Dee-lish!!!!!
Thanks!!!! π They were SO fun to make!!!!!
πππ
They were beyond DEEEEE-Lish!!! π€©π§π
Isn’t #1 kinda hard?! π I didn’t really realize how hard until I asked myself that question.π
Yep, I figured anything involving baking would be your choice! SO fun. ππ»
Beautiful verses! Thank you for sharing. Both have blessed me over and again!
π I guess you could always crochet yourself a dress! ;)
Well, praise the Lord! He is so gracious to give good friendships. Some are 100s of miles away and others “just around the corner”!π€ Thankful He allowed our paths to cross! π
Ooh! Glad you think they are the best ever! And always love seeing your answers come in!! ππ»π
π€£π I’ve actually tried crocheting a dress before…….. I never did finish it, and finally unraveled it and made something else with the yarn! π It takes too long π€π
Wow!! what fun questions Rachel!!!!!!! :) :D :)
#1-Hmm…lemme think here….When I find songs or music that I LOVE I find loops of it on YouTube and listen to it super loud (on headphones usually!) on the loop for about a week just over and over again!!! XD Once I found a song by Casting Crowns that I liked so much that I found a 10 hour loop and listened to it every chance I got for about a week before listening to other songs!!!! :0 XD ;) My family doesn’t know how on earth I can listen to it SO much and have it be SO repetitive but it doesn’t bother me!!!!! I love it!!! Also, I like to listen to audio dramas and songs when writing letters and they don’t know how I can concentrate when doing that either but I can! XD Multitasking anyone?!? XD :) :D
#2- One thing that I LOVE that I don’t think I could EVER get tired of is Hand-lettering!!!!!!! or Doodling!!! I LOVE them both and I don’t think I could EVER get tired of doing them!!!!! :) :D :)
#3-For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:7-10
The last one isn’t just 1 verse but I LOVE that whole chapter so much when trails come!!!!! He is ALWAYS there watching over us and taking care of us and will never leave us or forsake us!!!!!
I would rather sew all my clothes!! I really don’t care for gardening….I don’t like having to do all the tedious and time consuming weeding and picking! ;0 XD ;D And I LOVE sewing and sewing my own clothes!!!!!!! I love to try new patterns and styles and being able to make my clothes just how I want them. :) :D :)
I think these were my favorite questions so far!!!!!!!!! :) :D :)
Would YOU rather sew all your clothes or grow your own food??
Would you rather only be able to whisper or only be able to shout??
What is your favorite color and what Bible verse does it remind you of??
Have a lovely day!!!!!! :) :D :) :D :)
“I like to listen to audio dramas and songs when writing letters” Now I can multitask but listening to something and trying to write a letter at the same time never works for me!!ππ Definitely a gift to be able to concentrate on 2 things at once. π
#2 OH! You have been tremendously gifted with handlettering, Caroline! And you use it to encourage others. I hope it is something you never grow tired of as it is used to bless many! π€π
I agree, the entire 139 Psalm is such a comfort and reminder that God is continually with us!! Love these verses:
“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”
I bet you would do a wonderful job at making all your own clothing! π
Aw, SOOOO glad you think these are the best yet!! I had a fun time putting them together. πβ€οΈ
Ok, my answers to your questions:
Would YOU rather sew all your clothes or grow your own food?? I would definitely prefer to grow my own food!! No doubt in my mind. π₯¬ I have never gotten the hang of sewing!π§΅
Would you rather only be able to whisper or only be able to shout?? I would rather only be able to whisper!π
What is your favorite color and what Bible verse does it remind you of?? I have 2 favorite colors. 1 is teal (like this year’s spring100 shirt) and the other is GOLD because of Job 23:10 which is a verse near and dear to my heart, “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
THANK YOU so much for your fun comment, Caroline!!!!! I so soo enjoy seeing your name pop up in my comment section!! π€β€οΈ
Whoops!! I didn’t mean to say sewing twice!!! :0 XD :) ;D
Wait!! oops! I DID mean to say sewing twice!!! XD ;0 :)
Like….I like sewing, and sewing my own clothes too! XD
1. Whatβs something about you that people would be surprised to know? Some people might be surprised that I often prefer salty things over sweet things – or both mixed!
2. Whatβs something you enjoy doing that you never get tired of? Hmm, I tend to like to switch things up a lot, so there’s not much of anything I don’t get tired of at some point or another. I’ll just say making crafts and creating things in general is something I never get tired of, since I can switch to a new one when I get tired of an old one.
3. What are your top 2 favorite Scripture verses for times of trial and challenge?
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
I also really love Psalm 103!!
Would you rather have to sew all your clothes or grow your own food? This one is hard because either one would be challenging for me. I think I would go with sewing my own clothes even though my sewing skills need improvement. I would probably starve trying to live off our poor soil! :D
Well, if we ever get together, Iβll give you all the salty food and you can give me all the sweets. ππ
I love your verse choices!!! Promises we can cling to and take comfort in. β€οΈ Psalm 103 is a favorite for me too. Verses 1-5 especially!!
βBless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefitsβ
ββ
π πitβs true, the soil in these parts would definitely leave us slightly hungry!
Absolutely love your answers, Bethany!!! ππΌββοΈπ Thank you for taking time to comment. Such a day maker!!!
Bethany, you said it best! Me too! I would definitely starve to death if I chose to grow my own food!ππ
Ohhh, these look like fun questions!
1) This one is hard but the first thing that came to my mind is that I am an ennegram 4!π
2) Probably crafting and DIYing in many different forms! Or reading! I get bored of doing the same thing VERY quickly, so I would have to switch it up.π
3) How can I narrow this down to only 2 verses?π§ Iβll try my best:
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
I would much rather grow all my own food, our family always has a huge garden and sewing takes SUCH a long time!
Rachel, have you ever taken an ennegram test? If so, what number are you?
Yes, if you choose crafting or reading you really could choose quite an vast array of crafts or book topics to read! ππ
I know!! π #3 is one of those impossible questions to keep at 2. π I love how you pointed out Psalm 46:10!!! Love the verse that follows too:
βBe still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.β
ββPsalmsβ¬ β46:10-11β¬ β
Oh!!! Good for you. ππΌπ Knowing how to grow your own food is a great skill!!!π§π»βπΎ
Ohπ! No I never have taken the enneagram test and think if I did there probably wouldnβt be an βenneagramβ to match me. π€£ππ€£π€·πΌββοΈπ
You had such fabulous answers, Abigail!!! πππ» Thank you for joining the fun.βΊοΈπ
Ohhh, I just thought of something that most people would probably be surprised to know! I have donated blood 4 times and don’t plan on stopping any time soonβΊ
Wow!! β€οΈ Good for you!! Wouldnβt have guessed that. π
Yaaaaay! Sorry for the late response! :D
Whatβs something about you that people would be surprised to know?
Uhhhhhhh……I don’t really know. Perhaps that I have a dream of starting my own business.
Whatβs something you enjoy doing that you never get tired of?
Blogging, writing, and singing. I NEVER get tired of those things! :D <3
What are your top 2 favorite Scripture verses for times of trial and challenge?
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ Who Strengthens me.
2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Would you rather have to sew all your clothes or grow your own food?
Oof, this one was HARD XD. I guess I would choose to sew my own clothes.
Never late and absolutely no deadlines for answering these random questions so you are just in time! ;) Such a lovely new profile picture, Rae!!β¨ππ
Oh! I didn’t know that about you!! What type of business would you want to start up?? π
Love your list of things you never get tired of doing!πππ
2 Corinthians 4:18 is such a great reminder for those times of chellenge! When we set our eyes on the eternal and the eternal God, we are given perfect peace in the midst of the storm.π§‘
Loved your answers, Rae! Thank you so much for taking time to leave them.π
FIRST QUESTION: Something people would be surprised to know about me.
I was saved in 1986, when I was 33, so I had some years of walking dark paths in my youth. I experienced the hippy movement, and was a medic in the Navy during the Vietnam War era, which wasn’t a good time for a young lady to be in the military. I have some dark places in my past. But, praise God, the Lord saw fit to save me, and make me a new creature! I’m so completely different to the lost person I used to be, that people would be surprised to know some of the things I’ve done, or had done to me.
I will share one thing from those dark years that glorifies God, and not sin. The path that I was on lead me to Satan’s expected end; suicide. It was 1973. I was 20 years old. I had poured sleeping pills into my hand, intending to take my life, when there was a persistent knock at my apartment door. When I opened it, a young man stood there. He was holding a Bible. He said one simple sentence that is burned into my memory: “I just want you to know that God loves you, and I love you too.” Then he just turned and walked away!
God kept me from going to Hell by sending that young man (or angel) at that very moment! Why me? God only knows. But God saved my life that day so that He could save my soul many years later!! I will always praise Him!!!!!
SECOND QUESTION: Something I enjoy doing without getting tired of it.
I have two things that I don’t get tired of doing: reading/studying my Bible, and being on my computer. :-)
THIRD QUESTION: My top 2 favorite comforting scripture verses in times of trial.
When I’m going through a trial, the Lord sometimes brings a verse to my mind that suits the situation. Other times, I pray, then open the Bible, and the Lord directs me to the verse He want’s me to have at that moment. This has happened many times.
Two verses that I love:
“And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.” Isaiah 46:4
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Ps. 147:3
(By the way, I love all the verses that have been shared by everyone!!!!)
LASTLY:
I would rather sew all my clothes. I can sew fairly well, but gardening in Florida isn’t easy for someone that reacts for hours to insect bites: mosquitoes in the air and fire ants in the soil! No, no, no!!!
Thanks, Rachel!!!
Sheri, I am always so blessed to hear a little more of your testimony! As I read how the Lord miraculously saved you from the hard you intended at 20 and then your soul just 13 years later, I was instantly reminded of one of my favorite verses, “He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.” Psalm 55:18 How great our God is!!β€οΈ
Love the verses you shared! Isaiah 46:4… wow! What promises it holds. And yes, Psalm 147:3! He truly does heal the broken hearted. So thankful!!
Oh wow… you better stay away from the insects. π±π€π Sounds like sewing would be a better option for you! π
Thank you, Sheri! Your comments always leave me encouraged in the Lord. He is so faithful! π§‘
Thanks, Rachel! I just got your beautiful scripture-filled text from the first chapter in Ephesians. It was wonderful that the verses were taken from the chapter that I read tonight for my evening quiet-time with the Lord. :-)
I love reading your comments, too!! I’m really enjoying getting to know you and the others that have been sharing on your blogs!
