Favorite things…✨😍

πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈFridays are for… blogging a few favorite things! πŸ™ŒπŸ» From old rustic barns to gorgeous cakes, pretty flowers, happy mail, “home happiness”, cute quilts, and pretty prints. 😍 This is what I would call an “Eyecandy” overload! πŸ˜‰ I was thinking this morning about how good the Lord is to give us lovely views, vivid colors, gorgeous textures, and breathtaking sights. He is the Giver of every good and perfect gift! And in the same instance, I was reminded of 1 Corinthians 2:9 where we are promised, “…hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”!πŸ’– How is that for blessed hope and glorious truth?! πŸ˜ƒ That is a bit of Randomness for your Friday! πŸ˜‰

QUESTION!! Since today I’m sharing a few of my “Favorite Things”, I would LOVE to hear a few of YOURS! 1.) Favorite Color 2.) Favorite place to travel 3.) Favorite hymn

“Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.”
Psal 65:11-13

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Lovely post, Rachel! 😍😍😍 (I love randomness πŸ˜πŸ˜‰)

Favorite color: lavender or light teal (a tie between the two πŸ˜„)

Favorite place to travel: hmm….. Jefferson, Texas 😁 Love visiting antique shops and just looking around πŸ˜πŸ’•

Favorite hymn: 😱 that question is SO hard to answer!!!!!!!! My favorite for today is “In Christ Alone”, but my Facebook hymn changes every day! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹

    1. *it was supposed to say “favorite”, not “Facebook”! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      1. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚I was about to ask what a β€œFacebook hymn” was! πŸ˜‰ Gotta love auto correct πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‹

    2. Randomness is a favorite for me! πŸ˜‰πŸ€©πŸ˜β€οΈπŸŽ‰

Love your favorites, Anna!! In Christ Alone is such a beautiful hymn.🧑 You know, 😱 I quickly drove through Jefferson TX this past winter and said β€œI need to come back!” I hear it’s a great place for a day trip.☺️ I’m putting into my β€œTo do” list for a cool Autumn day! 😍

      1. Yeah!!! It’s super fun to just walk around, view the old buildings, antique shops, and. …..😱 icecream shops! πŸ˜‹

  2. 1.) Favorite Color – Orange
2.) Favorite place to travel – Anywhere with mountains or western looking (2 separate things ;) )
3.) Favorite hymn – The Love of God

    1. 🧑🧑🧑 Love your favorite color!! 😁
“Anywhere with mountains” Ah, yes!!! πŸ˜πŸ”

  3. Oh wow! Such beautiful photography! :D

My favorite color is blue because it matches the color of my eyes, the color of the ocean and sky and so many other things that I love!

My favorite place to travel is the ocean. (I loooove the ocean). Even though I only went a few times when I was younger and then once recently with my mom and her friend, I love the ocean! I am the type of person who likes to wade in the water and find sea shells and walk in the sand.

I only know one hymn, Amazing Grace, so I guess that is my favorite hymn :) Great post! I enjoyed answering the questions! <3 I love how you always include a Bible verse in your posts <3 Keep on shining for Jesus!

    1. The ocean is such a fun place to visit and so beautiful! Ooooh, great hymn choice!! Love this verse:
The Lord has promised good to me,
      His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
      As long as life endures.
      πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
Aw, thank you for your sweet encouragement Rae! 😊 The Lord always gives me a verse or portion of scripture to share and it is my greatest desire and joy to exalt HIS Word above any other here on the Blog. I often think of Matthew 24:35 as it says, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but MY Word shall not pass away.” One day my photos and my quirky words I share here on the blog will pass away BUT the Living Word of God shared will remain!! Praising the Lord for that.❀️

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

  4. 1. Teal/turquoise
    2. In the US, and that I’ve been to?: Northern California
    3. Amazing Grace

    1. We share favorite colors! ☺️
If Northern California is anything like the coast of Oregon, I can see why it’s a favorite. 😍❀️ Definitely gorgeous!

  5. Favorites:
    Color: light pink
Travel: anywhere with clean water. :)
Hymn: I live to tell the story

    1. β€œAnywhere with clean water” πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜ Love that!!
Your favorite hymn is beautiful too! Love this verse from it:

      I love to tell the story;
For those who know it best
      Seem hungering and thirsting
To hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory,
I sing the new, new song,
’Twill be the old, old story,
That I have loved so long.

πŸ’– So enjoyed your comment!! Thank you, Katelyn. ☺️

  6. I love the gentle feel of your peaceful “home-and-hearth” pictures! I also love how Anna called your collection bits of “randomness.” Perfect!

Favorite color: I have favorite seasonal combinations — rich shades of brown, russet, red, orange and golds for Autumn; burgundy, hunter green, and tan for Winter; Pink (or lavender), lime green, and white for Spring; and yellow, sky blue, and cream for Summer. In July, I crave patriotic navy, red, and white. In December I want mainly shades of dark green, antique gold and burgundy. I also absolutely love earth tones. I guess I just picked the whole crayon box.

Travel: Favorite places that filled my childhood with special delight — Patrick’s Point State Park on the coast of Northern California, or Lake Tahoe, California. I now live in Florida and haven’t returned to California in many years, so this is a dream list.

Favorite hymns: (I couldn’t do just one!)
    1. Nearer My God to Thee (It was the last thing the ship’s band played when the Titanic was sinking, and could be heard across the water by those in life rafts.)
    2. Be Still My Soul (I love the verse: Be still my soul – the hour is hast’ning on, When we shall be forever with the Lord, When disappointment, grief and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored, Be still my soul – when change and tears are past, All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
    3. It Is Well with My Soul (I love the verse: My sin – O the bliss of this glorious tho’t – My sin, not in part, but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more: Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!)

I guess the older we get, the harder it gets to narrow choices down. ;-)

    1. I love your seasonal color combinations, Sheri!! πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’– I have a friend who does the same seasonal color pallets for her wardrobe and she always looks so lovely and seasonally fitting. ☺️ I do agree, my favorite color does tend to change depending on the time of year!

☺️your dream destination list sounds perfect!

Oh! Beautiful choices for hymn favorites. Isn’t it so hard to narrow down the list of favorite hymns?! That’s a hard question for me to answer when asked. I think the same with colors, it can change depending on the season of life I’m in! 😁Love this verse for Be Still My Soul:

Be still, my soul: your God will undertake
to guide the future as he has the past.
      Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
his voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Hehe, I don’t know if it has to do with age! I have the same β€œproblem” and always have. Never can stick with just 1 Favorite!! πŸ˜‰πŸ’– So enjoyed your comment Sheri!

      1. My house stays the same year around, except for Christmas. I’ve never spent extra money on seasonal changes/decorations, and don’t have extra storage space for different seasons. But I love the variations of colors. :-)

I also love the verse you pointed out! Such a beautiful hymn!

  7. What a fun post!! Hmmm, some favorites of mine (though I agree, just ONE favorite can be hard sometimesπŸ˜‰) are:

Color: I love GREEN!! A sage/olive/country-type green. But there are so many pretty colors to the rainbow!
Travel: It’s funny, because I’m really not much of a travel person! I tend to enjoy staying in close proximity to my home grounds, but I will say I really enjoyed a trip this June to the Outerbanks of NC!! Special sibling and friend time, and such a BEAUTIFUL part of God’s creation!
Hymn: Some favorites are Be Thou My Vision, In Christ Alone, Great is Thy Faithfulness, How Great Thou Art…

Thank you for this fun “Favorite Things Friday”, Rachel!!❀️

    1. πŸ˜πŸ’– I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has a hard time choosing just one favorite!! πŸ™ˆ

Olive is such a lovely shade and seems to compliment everything! I’ve been really liking the deeper olive tones this summer as we transition into autumn. πŸ’š

Well, as much as I enjoy traveling when it happens, I very much to love home too. 😁 I’ve been meaning to ask you how the trip to the outer banks of NC was. Next email I’ll have to get filled in! πŸ˜‰πŸ’›

Great hymn choices!! 😍 Love this verse of How Great Thou Art:

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow with humble adoration
And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art

Thank YOU, Martha Joy. I soooo enjoyed hearing your favorites!!! πŸ’–πŸ™ŒπŸ»

  8. Help!!! I can’t have a favorite!!πŸ˜†Alrighty, I’m an artist so I just love color!🎨😍

Love high deserts, the ocean, mountains…the intricate variety in God’s creation is just so amazing!!πŸ™ŒπŸ˜

Oh no! Can’t have a favorite here either!πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†
However, a few would be; “More Secure Is No One Ever”, “How Great Thou Art”, “It Is Well With My Soul”, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”,
    “Be Still My Soul”……!πŸŽΆπŸŽ΅πŸ™ŒπŸ™

    1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I love that! Yep, artists should never have just 1 favorite color. πŸ˜‰πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ€

You know, I have never heard of β€œMore Secure Is No One Ever”! *looking up* BEAUTIFUL. I love this:
      Rest secure in this Defender
At HIS will all foes surrender

Thank you for introducing me to a new hymn, Jill! πŸ’ž I absolutely loved seeing your comment come through!! πŸ’–

  9. Such a lovely post Rachel! :) I LOVE all the pictures!! :D You have good taste. :)

My favorite color is any shade of blue and dusty pink. :D

My favorite place to travel would probably be somewhere with big mountains with beautiful views. :) Maybe Colorado.
I also LOVE to travel to friends houses! ;) :D :) even if they’re really close by! XD

My favorite Hymn is “In Christ Alone” or “How Great Thou Art”. :) Both of them are so pretty and I love them so much! :)

    1. Aw, thanks, Caroline!! I had so much fun finding the photos and putting the post together.πŸ’–πŸ˜ƒ I SO enjoyed your comment so THANK YOU for taking the time to leave it!

Oh, lovely favorite colors! They probably look beautiful paired together too.😍😍😍

Love the favorite hymn choices! How Great Thou Art is a favorite for me too. I used to have a mug that had “Then sings my soul” on it! It would have me singing the entire hymn for the rest of the day whenever I finished my cup of coffee!πŸ˜‰

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow with humble adoration
And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art
