In honor of keeping it real, I leave you with my favorite picture of Rachel. This was taken during the swine flu “pandemic” of 2009.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

Psalm 37:23-24

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RACHEL! I just love this, Grace, I’m actually sitting here crying…how crazy is that??? Well, my excuse I didn’t get much sleep last night, because I had a latte too late in the evening and as I was lying there trying to sleep, I kept going over my memory verses…and it’s because of Rachel that I’m falling in love again with memorizing scripture. I don’t even know you all in real life, but your family is wonderful!
I hope Rachel, that you know what a blessing you are and that you are right where God wants you. I have 4 daughters of my own…Godly women who struggle sometimes, largely because of the “world”, with being single and still being at home, but always remember “godliness with contentment is great gain” 1 Timothy 6:6. You ARE exactly where God wants you to be.
Praying that you will have a year of blessings in return for the blessing that you have been to those around you. You have blessed me beyond measure. <3 <3 <3
By the way, my son John who is 23 this year, too, had chicken pox last year, as well…and he was really, really sick with it…poor guy. At least you have this behind you now… :)

    1. Your birthday blessings filled my heart with joy today. THANK YOU!! You (and your daughters) have blessed me beyond measure with your kindness via blog comments(strange to be so blessed by people you haven’t even met in person!) (:
I am so thankful Im where I am meant to be. At times it can be quite a struggle(<to be 100% honest :) but God is always so good and patient and surrounds me with His unfailing love while reminding me His plans are so much greater than I could ever imagine. I praise the Lord for placing me right where He wants me and giving me a the assurance that He will lead me wherever He wants me to go in His perfect timing! It reminds me of something Joni Eareckson Tada once said:
“we will stand amazed to see the topside of the tapestry and how God beautifully embroidered each circumstance into a pattern for our good and His glory.”

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. " Jer 29:11

      THANK YOU, again!!
P.S. The chicken pox where quite painful and EXTREMELY glad to have them behind me. :)

  2. Happy Birthday Rachel!
Hope you have a year full of the abundance that Our Father in heaven so lovingly shares with His children. Many blessings!
And thanks for the post Grace…I loved reading this!

  3. Dear Rachel,
Happy birthday to you!!!! May this day be filled with special tokens of God’s love and blessing for you. I appreciate the Scripture memory challenge you are doing with your readers. That is a precious thing to instill in our lives and something that is so amazing to see encouraged in other believers. That will reap fruits throughout our entire lifetimes. This morning Deut 32:46-47 struck me – God’s law “is our life.” May God bless you as you hide His Word in your heart….for eternity.

    1. Thank you, Sarah! So good to hear from you! :) Amen, “God’s law is our life” (: That might sound repetitive but I couldn’t help but say it!! I am thankful the Lord led me to start this challenge and know that His word does not return void! God is so good! “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

The Lord abundantly bless you, Sarah!!

  4. Happy Birthday! You and your blog have been a blessing and I’m thankful I ran across your blog one long ago day. Your love for the Lord is convicting and encouraging, and you take amazingly natural photos! Hope your birthday is wonderful!

    1. Thank you, RuthAnne! My birthday was wonderful. I am thankful you ran across my blog one long day ago! You have been an encouragement and blessing to me from the begining. (: God is so good to bring His people together to encourage each other!

  5. So….because I was practicing avoidance….I missed your birthday! But I wish you a very happy, VERY late birthday, Rachel. You are a blessing, a light, and an inspiration. I’ve loved the way you use Scripture so much in your blog and writing, even before you started this Scripture challenge. Don’t doubt that God is using you. Thank you for being faithful. Love and hugs!

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
