The Word of God! || November Thanksgivings

Yes, the evening is quickly slipping away but before I find my way to my pillow I wanted to push publish on this post. ? Y’all, I don’t know about you but today I am extremely thankful for The Word of God! His “Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”[Ps 119:105]! ??? God’s Word gives understanding[Ps 119:130],  enlightens the eye[Ps 19:8],  brings joy to the heart[Jer 15:16], convicts, exhorts, and encourages[2 Tim 3:16]. The Word of God is “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” [Heb 4:12]! As I read Matthew 4:4 I am reminded that The Word of God brings nourishment to our souls “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”  I love how it says in Jeremiah 15:16 “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Are you finding joy in His Word today? Open the pages and soak it up. Make His Word your meditation day and night and you will be that well watered tree spoken of in Psalm 1, “his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.Today, on my favorite day of the entire week[y’all, there’s just something so fabulous about Thursdays!] I am thankful for the Word of God!?? Don’t forget, we are counting down thanksgivings together for the month of November. Let me know what you are thankful for today in the comment section  ↓↓ and join me for some thanks-giving-blog-posting fun!  ?

“My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.”
Psalm 119:48

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Amen!! YES!!!! His Word is so rich and beautiful!!! I saw your post this morning and was like, wow, that goes right along with something I was considering sharing!!?
    Sometimes I, even though I know the Bible is God’s Word and I know He inspired it, 2 Tim. 3:16-17; it’s as if I’m reading it as something about God, which it is, but it’s also from God!!
    There is something really special, when God causes us to realize that He inspired His Word, that as you are reading a Psalm of crying out to God or recognizing Him as our Rock; that Psalm isn’t because David says so, it’s because God says so! It’s something that God wants us to do, He wants us to know that He is our Rock, that He is our Strength, He knows our weakness, He loves us, and He is our sufficiency!
    Yes!! So thankful today for His Word, for His love, and His watching over His people!!
    Psalm 23 ❤
    Have a blessed Thursday, Rachel, and thank you for the encouraging posts!! God is sooo good, isn’t He!!?

    1. Jill!! Your comment was just so encouraging and uplifting. Thank you!!?❤️ AMEN! Your thoughts are exactly what a friend and I were talking about recently. She mentioned how we often look at the Word of God as “how does this apply to me”[which is good to do]. We also tend to make His Word all about us but in actuality, the entire Bible is about God. Through the Holy inspired Word of God, we learn more about Him and who He is! Among so many things, He shows us His continued faithfulness, sovereignty, grace, steadfast love, and (yes!!) sufficiency!! Quite an amazing truth.❤️? “Sanctify them through Thy truth: THY WORD is truth.” John 17:17

      Have a beautiful day, Jill!! Yes, He truly is good, always! <3

  2. Thankful today for the responsibility and privilege we have in Christ to declare HIS praise and wield HIS truth as a sword!

    “Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

    Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

    To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

    To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

    To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.”
    Psalm 149:5-9
