About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. What fun and beautiful photos everyone sent in this week! Keep it up! :) I have to admit my favorite photos were the ones the brothers Mathew and Elisha sent in: way to get creative! ?? Trick photography there! ?
And I LOVE your mom’s comment: that’s what dogs do best sometimes… ??
To answer the questions: One of my challenges this year’s Spring100 has been handling a leashes dog AND a stroller on our country road… dogs and strollers don’t always want to go the same direction, or at the same time… ?
And answer #2: The opportunity to pray uninterrupted by household tasks has been precious… I can’t think of a particular verse, since so many come to mind!
Don’t lose heart, everyone! Press on!

    1. I can imagine the combination dogs plus baby strollers can make! And when you add gravel roads!!! ???

Yes, I completely agree about the opportunity these walks allow for uninterrupted prayer. So wonderful!! ? Keep up the wonderful work, Elisha. You are almost there!! ?

  2. Oh, and congratulations to Hannah on winning the gift card! Have fun at Chick-fil-a!

  3. Wow! Thank you!! Can’t believe I won. It will be fun to use the prize and take my dad out – he deserves it after the mileage we logged for our walk together.

Loved everyone’s photos this week with your friends and family!

    1. ?☺️??? I hope and pray you thoroughly enjoy that meal out!!!! So excited to get the gift card off to you, Hannah. ??

    2. Enjoy your gift card Hannah!!! My favorite thing from chick fil a is their ice cream so hopefully you are able to enjoy some of that!! ?

  4. Congrats Hannah! I hope you have a lot of fun with your dad at Chick-Fil-A! So far my biggest obstacle in doing my walks has been just finding the time to do it. There are always so many other things I could be doing rather than walking. But knowing I will get behind if I don’t walk has been a good motivation.

    1. I completely understand the time issue. ? Good for you, Hannah! Keep on keeping up. ??

  5. Loved this post! ❤️ Congratulations, Hannah! ? Thanks again to Rachel for all her encouragement.

My biggest obstacle is if I don’t have a walking buddy. I prefer to walk with someone. ?

    1. Come on over to our house! ? There is always someone waking and you will never be alone. ?????

  6. As of yesterday how many miles are we supposed to be at?

Biggest obstacle is time and finding everyone’s shoes to get out the door and lots of scraped knees afterwards for Kathryn when she runs and trips on a rock. :/

Truth to God’s word….I’m just so awed at how consistent God is. Each time I’m walking in the evening when the sun is going down I just think of how amazing God is to rise and lower the sun every single day. I have been seeing my need to be consistent in lots of things. – child training, reading God’s word, going to bed in time ect and yet God is faithful and consistent in all things. A very good reminder for me to try harder. :)

    Thanks,
    Katelyn

    1. Let’s see, as of yesterday you should have walked 56 miles o believe! There are officially 43 days left in spring as of today.??

Seeing you tackle your miles with all your little ones is encouraging, Katelyn! Keep up the great work.

Ah, wow!! That is such a beautiful reminder and truth. Thank you for that! God continually remains faithful and steadfast. ? So wonderful!

  7. Congratulations, Hannah! Enjoy your time with your dad!!

    Fantastic photos, everyone!

Great questions, Rachel. I’d say the biggest challenge is just getting out there. Some days are easy to schedule and other days are crazy and I have to really squeeze in a mile. But whenever I do get in a mile it is so worth it.
Hebrews 12 keeps coming to my mind. When I ran on Saturday I was reminded of our spiritual journey and walk. How often I focus on either the past or the future and forget the present path I am on. As we look to Jesus we can press on and find joy in all circumstances, because of His unchangeable character and faithfulness. When our joy is found in Him it cannot be shaken. And how often I neglect this truth in the way I react to unexpected circumstances. He is so good to remind us and sustain us!

Keep up the great work everyone!

    1. Mmmmm… so beautiful Leah! Thank you for sharing. ☺️? That encouraged my heart today! Isn’t that the truth. We can find joy and endurance for the race right before us because He is faithful! Praise the Lord.?
Keep on pressing forward and running with endurance Leah!! You’re doing a wonderful job!!

  8. ❤️ the pictures! Any obstacles?… hmmmm… thankfully the only obstacle I’ve had to overcome this Spring100 is figuring out how to get around the droppings our sheep have been leaving on my path.???? Is God putting any truths from His Word…?… ALWAYS! “His mercies are new every morning”… “we shall run and not be weary”…”the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament sheweth His handy work”… old truths but the Lord make them new to me and causes me to understand them better with each walk.???

    1. ???? yes, it’s true!! ? Just DONT wear sandals for your walks. It doesn’t work! Trust me. ???

Amen! His Word is continually revealing itself to us in fresh new ways. So thankful for that!!

  9. Congratulations Hannah! My two biggest obstacles have been travel and sickness, but thankfully they haven’t posed any great threat so far. Lamentations 3 was on my mind this morning as I walked. I’ve really been loving the early morning hours lately (which is unusual for me?)!! ??

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
