“Because THOU hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of THY wings will I rejoice.”
Psalm 63:7
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
Psalm 91:1-4
The shaodw of His wings = the protecting power of the Almighty who “is able to do all things for his people, and is “Shaddai”, all sufficient, as this word is thought to signify; has a sufficiency of happiness in and for Himself, and of provisions for all His creatures, and of power and grace for His own children”! The name El Shaddai has been a favorite for me lately and it means “The ALL Sufficient One”. :) The Lord God Almighty is all sufficient in all things! As I read Psalm 63:7, “Because THOU hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of THY wings will I rejoice.” my instant thought was “YES!” we[God’s children] truly can rejoice even in the darkest of trials knowing we are covered in the Shadow of His wings. No darkness has overtaken us that He is unaware of, there is no trial that He is not able bring us through[Is 46:4], and no need that He will not suffice[Phil 4:19]! He is El Shaddai. We can rejoice because He is our Help, our Refuge, and our Fortress! He promises to cover us with His feathers and He will keep and preserve us safe to His kingdom because He is faithful[1 Thes 5:23-24]! His TRUTH shall be our shield and buckler, His mercies our hope[Ps 147:11]! Simply abide in the shadow of His wings and trust His sufficient protection and plan. :) Happy Monday y’all????!
“His Son, who is “truth” itself, John 14:6, and whose person, blood, righteousness, and salvation, are as a shield and buckler all around the saints, to secure them from ruin and destruction…. the word of God also, which is truth, John 17:19, every promise in it, and doctrine of it, is as a shield and buckler to strengthen, support, and secure the faith of His people” Gill
