The Attitude of Gratitude!

The Attitude of Gratitude…. πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ do you have it?? The longer I live, the more I find out just how much I lack it! Have you stopped to consider the goodness of God today in your life and give thanks? Our every moment of life is sustained by the Creator of the universe! Each heartbeat(100,000 every single day pumping blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels) is divinely ordained by our sovereign Savior and the ability to take another breath is a demonstration of His extreme goodness & handiwork! 🧑 His mercy is abundant(Psalm 103:11), His grace is sufficient(2 Cor 12:9), His faithfulness is constant(Lam 3:21-22), He satisfies the longing soul(Psalm 107:9), He offers hope to the hopeless(1 Peter 1:3-4), and salvation to all who call upon His name(Romans 10:13)! We serve an awesome God who is worthy of our constant praise! β€œOh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!” Today I want to encourage you all to seek to have an attitude of gratitude. To give thanks to the Lord, count your blessings, rejoice always, and sing His praise! I love how the Psalmist says, “I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving”. How amazing and truly humbling it is that our praise + thanksgiving is considered a sacrifice to the Lord(Hebrews 13:15, Ps 50:14, Ps 107:22). May we continually meditate on His goodness and offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

β€œI will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.”
Psalm 86:12

QUESTION!!! I’d love to hear from you. What are a few things YOU are thankful for today?? Big or small. Don’t leave without leaving a comment below and letting me know! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‚

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.”
Hebrews 13:12

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Thank you for this reminder!!!! Definitely thankful, not only for each heartbeat God gives me, but for each heartbeat He gives my unborn baby… God is so gracious and good, and I appreciated this reminder to rejoice in ALL He does for us!!!

    1. So excited to finally meet that little guy in person!! SO close, Elisha. πŸ€—πŸ’› You’re doing a great job!!!

  2. Just the reminder I needed. Thanks. I am thankful for God’s mercies and His grace. For today and all that it holds!

    1. Aw, praise the Lord!! I am so glad and thankful it was the reminder you needed.πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Yes, I am thankful for today too!!!!! Another day of life to live for HIM!πŸ™ŒπŸ»

  3. Hi Rachel! I’ve followed your blog for a while but this is the first time I’ve commented, I think. :) Today I am so thankful for God’s blessing of good health.

    1. Ashley!! Thank you so much for making my day with your comment. 😁🧑 Yes!!! Such a good thanksgiving. πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™

  4. A much needed reminder here too! Romans 1 talks about ingratitude…

“For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or *give thanks* to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
    Romans 1:21 ESV

*shudder* *take OFF the ingratitude* *put ON thankfulness* !!!

Thankfulness is ALWAYS (1 Thessalonians 5:18) appropriate for debtors to grace, huh? πŸ’•

I’m thankful for Christ having suffered and died for my sins! For my husband, Joseph and our children…Adeline, Mable, Eleanor, Ruth, Benton, Ona, and Bethany Joy!

I’m thankful for a roof over our heads, a washer and dryer, running water, a woodstove and wood! Food, baby formula (as I have struggled to produce enough for our little one this time around…), for the Lord humbling my heart through meeting and beginning to form friendships with both the Old and New Order Mennonites in our small town. (I once had a poor opinion of both.) For forgiveness. For discipline. For the steadfast love of the Lord. For a bed. For beds for my children. For creativity. For a good Christian school for our children to attend. For God’s patience…I could continue and I think I will…but not here, for your sake! πŸ™‚

Thank you for the reminder! Keep reminding us of God’s truths and smoking us in the way we should go, Rachel! Love you, in the Lord. ❀️

    (Rebekah)

      1. πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‹ I will refrain from smoking y’all and seek to encourage you in Him!! By His strength and for His glory. Psalm 115:1 β™₯️

    1. Yes, thankfulness is always appropriate and it is a command!! “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”! I love all your thanksgivings, Rebekah. πŸ€—β™₯️ Praise The Lord for all those precious children He has given you! You are blessed. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

  5. I’m so sorry I haven’t been answering your blogs. I do read them and get a blessing out of them though! Just so tired these days. I’m on the 100th chapter of my book series (chapter 23 of book 3) as well as three or four edit-rewrites of the first 2 books, as the storyline matures and morphs. Between that and just life, it leaves so little extra energy.

Also, my email service has been messing up ever since my carrier “upgraded” their email system. I’m losing emails and getting back really old ones that I deleted long ago. What a mess! This email actually showed back up in my inbox, when I had a bit of energy to answer!! :-) :-) :-)

What am I grateful for? Literally everything! Everything!! Everything!!! God makes no apologies to what He allows to happen in our lives. It is ALL for the good of His children and His own glory. I’ve seen this over and over in my own life and the lives of other Christians. We have no room to complain. None! Our loving task is to praise Him, forever and always.

I’m so glad your blog showed back up in my inbox! :-D

    1. “What am I grateful for? Literally everything!” I love this so much!!! YES!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord!!! What a joy to hear from you, Sheri!! I figured you were deep into finish out your book series.😁🧑
