Well, Hello November!🙋🏼♀️ Where did you come? You’ve caught me by surprise but how happy I am to see you here! 😍🍂 November seemed to slip in unawares, the days have been full for my family, and God’s unfathomable faithfulness has been the continual theme over the past few weeks of my life and all those which came before. 😉 “… great is THY faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in HIM.” Lamentations 3:23-24! Trials have been faced and challenges overcome by His faithfulness and grace! The past few weeks haven’t been the easiest for my family but they have been the most blessed as I have seen more deeply the steadfast love of my Lord and Savoir! I am so thankful that I can confidently say, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”🙏🏼✨ Isn’t it amazing to know that He restores our souls when we are weary and HE leads us in the paths of righteousness for HIS name’s sake(Psalm 23)?! 🤗🙌🏻 And my friends, here we are, in the month of Thanksgiving! The beautiful month of brisk morning walks, crisp autumn air, and golden leaves gracefully falling to the ground! I wanted to take a second and a half to pop in and say “helllo” to YOU! How have you been??
Seeing today is Wednesday + almost THURSDAY, I thought why not have a Random Question Wednesday and Thankful Thursday collaboration? 😉🎉 Leaving you all with a a dozen or so Random photos + 3 random Questions + asking you all to name 4 things you are thankful for today! Would you drop me a note with your answers or just to say “hi”👋 ? I would love to hear from YOU!
RANDOM Questions:
1.) Describe the perfect Autumn Day! What would you do, how would the weather be, and who would you spend it with??
2.) Share 1 very random fact about yourself that most people don’t know! (I.E. You know how to ride a unicycle, love to bake pies, or have successfully gone over the Niagara Falls in a barrel.😉😆)
3.) What is your favorite Thanksgiving Hymn?
Don’t forget to share 4 Thanksgivings!
💁🏼♀️And now for random photos from the past 8 weeks! All very random but I am amazed to see the memories made and time we all enjoyed together these past 2 months! 🙌🏻🧡 Yes, there have been hard days BUT God is so faithful and filled each day with blessings + benefits that cannot be counted!! This reminds me of Psalm 139 as it says, “How precious also are THY thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with THEE.” Hope y’all enjoy the most random of photos from my daily and sometimes crazy life! 😉🙋🏼♀️
“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: Thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.”
Psalm 89:1-2
Hello Rachel,
It is so good to hear from you! Looks like y’all have been busy but having fun like any family would! I hope to meet you and your family one day soon!
#1 I would want to spend my autumn day probably walking on our side walk down the road, visiting one of our friends farms and enjoying the weather, or going to NC. to see all our friends and the beautiful trees.
#2 don’t have a favorite thanksgiving hymn.
#3 I really like to write letters and checking the mail is so fun!
God bless you.
Your ideal autumn day with the neighborhood walk sounds so lovely! 🍂😍 So love hearing from you, Elizabeth!! ♥️
Thank you so much for your encouraging post Rachel! I am always so blessed by what you write!!! 😊
The perfect autumn day…sleeping in until I wake up without my alarm 😂, spending time with my best friend and riding our neighbor’s horse for a few hours with the weather at 72 degrees (partly cloudy with a gentle breeze), going on a walk to our creek and watching the sunset. 😊
A couple very random facts about me most people don’t know is that I’m writing a symphony for orchestra this fall and that I LOVE blueberries 😅
My favorite Thanksgiving hymn is “My Heart is Filled with Thankfulness” by Keith and Kristyn Getty. It’s our hymn of the month right now actually!
I’m thankful for the beauty of God’s handiwork in creation, especially this fall…I took a walk in the woods yesterday and His glory seemed to shine all around me through the rays of the setting sun on the trees. (I SO wish I could share some photos, it was absolutely amazing!!!)
I’m thankful for my Dad because he faithfully trains us and teaches us the Word of God. I know a lot of homes don’t have fathers who lead so well, especially in our culture.
I’m thankful for the gift of music that helps me express my worship to the Lord in ways my words often can’t. Also that God blessed me with the opportunity to share a song I wrote with the University of North Georgia and they performed it at their fall concert…that was a huge answer to prayer and a lifelong dream come true!
Most of all I’m thankful for Jesus Christ and that He humbled himself by coming to live among men and sacrificed His life so I might live for all eternity with Him in heaven, in the very presence of God, face to face with Him in all His glory! Not by any work I have done but only through the righteousness of Christ! “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21
Have a blessed day!
Joy!!!! THANK YOU for your encouraging comment!! So blessed to receive it. 😃
Your ideal autumn weather sounds perfect! 😆🍁
“I SO wish I could share some photos, it was absolutely amazing!!!” I so wish I could see it!! Autumn walks always leave me in awe of God’s glory and His beauty! Absolutely breathtaking. 🤗
OHHH! I love “My Heart is Filled with Thankfulness”. I had forgotten about that one!! SO GOOD!
😮 You’re writing a symphony?? That is so incredible!! And it takes talent too. So exciting! Hehe, as I writ this, I am eating blueberries so we both share that love.😉🧡
“I’m thankful for my Dad because he faithfully trains us and teaches us the Word of God. I know a lot of homes don’t have fathers who lead so well, especially in our culture.” AMMMMMEEEEEEN!!!!!!! We are so truly blessed to have fathers who lead us in the Word! That is such an incredible blessing!
Thank you so much for popping in today, Joy! Your comments always put a huge smile on my face.🤗
Hi Rachel! Thank you for putting this post together… I loved seeing all the pictures! This year has gone by so fast and I can’t believe we are already in this fall season, and getting ready to head into winter. It reminds me of some lyrics in a song, “The days are long, but the years are brief”! It also reminds me to rejoice in each day and cherish the season God has me in, because it won’t last forever! <3
1. A perfect autumn day for me is windy, the air smells fresh and clean, and it is just cold enough for long sleeves. :) And I would spend it taking a walk, my favorite walking companions being my family and some friends from church!
2. A very random fact about me is that I have always REALLY wanted to go to the moon! :D I know there is a one-in-a-million chance of ever getting to do that, but I still think it would be SOO amazing!!! My next dream is to get to ride in an airplane, which is a lot more likely, haha!
3. I don't have a favorite Thanksgiving HYMN, but there is a Thanksgiving song that I really love… "Thank You, Lord". The chorus goes like this: "There's a roof up above me, I've a good place to sleep; There's food on my table, and shoes on my feet; You gave me Your love, Lord, and a fine family; Thank You, Lord, for Your blessings on me"
And four things I am thankful for today are:
-The time change last Sunday! My body is still waking up at the same time, but with the time change that time is an hour earlier now, and it has been so nice to have that extra hour, which I really enjoyed today :)
-God's provision of food every single day! For lunch today I had to eat something that isn't my favorite and I almost started to complain, but then I decided to thank the Lord for what I had to eat and be grateful that I had food and wasn't starving! It is amazing that when you start to think of reasons to be grateful about something unpleasant, it just changes your perspective!
-God's Word-the TRUTH
-An encouraging sermon!
Sarah! 🤗💝 How I loved seeing your comment fly in!
Yes, cherish the days and don’t always be waiting for something bigger or other seasons or better days. TODAY is a gift from God to you! Rejoice and ENJOY it thoroughly. When I find days are flying by I am always reminded of Psalm 84:5 as it says, “Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.” May we have our hearts set on a pilgrimage knowing that we seek a better country—a heavenly one!
🤩🚀 That is so fun!! Your desire to go to the moon one day shows you have quite an adventurous spirit. 🌝 You never do know what the Lord may have in store! 😉 I do think flying is definitely a must you should try someday!! Take your favorite people with you and you will have a blast!✈️
I love your thanksgiving! The time change was so helpful for me too. Yes, God is so good to provide us with our “daily bread”. What a blessing and great reminder the give thanks even when it’s not your favorite!🤗♥️
Happy Thursday, Sarah!! 🙋🏼♀️ Thank you for blessing me with your comment!🤗
I can’t believe November is already here either! 😱
1. My perfect autumn day is cool temps (low 70’s), a clear vivd blue sky, and all of the trees dressed in bright oranges, reds, and yellows. 😊 I would have a picnic lunch in a pretty spot with my family and some friends and take a walk.
2. Random fact about myself…I play the guitar; but only when I’m composing music or filling in for my brother. (the latter one being very rare) 😁
3. Favorite Thanksgiving Hymn – For the Beauty of the Earth
Four things I am thankful for today…
1) The veterans who have served our country.
2) The helpful person at the hardware store this morning.
3) Getting our herbal tea cabinet restocked!
4) All of the lovely fall colors that have been on display this week. 🍁
I just realized that 70’s temps sounded more on the warmer side as opposed to cooler, so probably more like 60’s. ;)
Oh! Amanda, I think I’d join you in a heartbeat for your “perfect autumn day”!! 😍 Do y’all get a lot of fall colors up there?
I knew you played the piano but had no idea you played the guitar. Love learning that new fun fact!
Isn’t it such a blessing to find helpful people at the hardware store?? Oh my, I can easily get myself lost when I am there! 😅
So so enjoyed seeing your comment come in, Amanda!! Thank you! 🧡🙋🏼♀️
Lovely post Rachel!!😁🤗 Thank you for taking the time to put it together.😀🤗 Love all the pictures!! 😍❤
My perfect Autumn day would be a cool but not too cold day with pretty colors on the trees and a little bit of wind to rustle them and blow them down.🙂 I would take a walk with a friend, write letters to friends while sitting underneath a big tree in our yard, and play tag with my siblings in the lovely weather or make a leaf pile!! 😁😉🙂
Hmm…A very random fact about myself. Well, everyone knows that I LOVE cats, so that won’t work!!😂😉😂 How about that I love to ride my bike and play tag with my siblings when it’s raining and I used to go and stand under our gutters and get soaked from the rain water gushing down the gutter!!😱😜😂😉
I don’t have a favorite Thanksgiving hymn but I really love the song that Sarah Silvey mentioned and also one called “My Heart is Filled with Thankfulness” by Keith and Kristyn Getty.❤ Looks like someone already mentioned both of my favorites!!!😀😉😂
What are YOUR answers to the questions?? I would love to know!!😁😉🙂
#1-A very long letter from a friend a couple days ago that brightened my day!!😁
#2-Generous and Thoughtful friends that encourage me in the Lord and I can have good conversations with.😉🤗
#3-Generous neighbors that have been driving some of us to Bible Study every Sunday night.🙂
#4-The Freedom to worship God and read our Bibles and pray in America!!📖❤😊
🍂💓Caroline!!!
Your perfect Autumn day sounds so peaceful.😍 I hope you get to enjoy couple of them this fall!!!
Hehe, your random facts made me smile! I thought I was the only one who would enjoy a good soaking from the gutter when I was younger! 🤭😝♥️
Hmmm. Let’s see… my answers…🧐☺️
Perfect autumn day would be sunny and mid-60 with that beautiful smell of autumn filling the air. I’d take an early morning walk all bundled up, crunching leaves under foot! Then I’d enjoy a quiet day with family doing random yard work, soaking up the sunshine, ending the day with a warm chili dinner, homemade cornbread and maybe hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows on top!! 😍 not super exciting but Quiet, peaceful, and oh so pleasant!
Oh my, random fact about myself! 😆😄 Hmmm… I know if I asked my sisters they’d have a dozen or so funny ones. But they are all sleeping! 😂😅 Random fact: I don’t like to go shopping unless it’s for groceries BUT I love grocery shopping. 😏 That’s not Super exciting but all I could come up with!!😝
Favorite thanksgiving hymn would be ‘We Gather Together’ which I don’t know if it’s a traditional thanksgiving hymn now that I think of it?! But my family sings it often during thanksgiving and I love it. ☺️♥️
Love all those thanksgivings!! 💕 #4 is such a good reminder. So many Christians around the world are being persecuted for worshiping the Lord and owning a bible! So thankful for that freedom we have. ♥️May we never take it for granted!!
Always so encouraged by you, Caroline!!! Thank you for commenting!!! 🎉
“I thought I was the only one who would enjoy a good soaking from the gutter when I was younger!”
Definitely not! me and my siblings all love a good soaking from the gutter!😄😂
Your Autumn day sounds perfectly lovely and pleasant.😍🍁😊
Very interesting fact.😄 It does seem like you would like to shop. 🙂
Oh yes! We sang that just this morning during family devotions!😊 I love it! 🥰
Yes! may we never take it for granted! Amen!🙏
Have a lovey day Rachel!🤗🤗🤗
Yay, it’s November!🥰🍁🍂🍁
1. A perfect fall day? Hmmm…sweet fellowship with my family…a warm pot of tea or mug of strong coffee…a walk enjoying all the signs of fall, camera and coffee in hand…curling up inside with a knitting or art project, pretty music in the background…
2. Lol, I used to think skydiving during sunset would be such an amazing experience…still think so…but would I actually do it? I don’t know! 🤔😬😄
3. The Doxology…”Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow…”, “Great is Thy Faithfulness”…❤✝️🙌
1. A warm, dry house during the terrific windstorm that is going on as I write this!
2. God’s amazing love and patience with me!
3. God’s never-failing, never-ending truth and righteousness!
4. Good music and hymns that encourage the soul!
Enjoyed reading your post and seeing your pics, Rachel!😃 I love Psalm 23 too!❤🐑
I hope you have a very blessed Thanksgiving month, full of His peace! Blessings to you, sweet sister in Jesus!🤗
Wow, skydiving during sunset…. Jill, you have quite an adventurous side!! I’d probably do a hot air balloon ride At sunset so I could have a front row seat as you sky dive out of the air plane! 🤭🙈😝😉
Oh. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the hymn Great is Thy Faithfulness!! One of my absolute favorites. 💗
#2!!!!! Amen!!!!!! I’m so thankful for His love and patience too. Wow!!♥️♥️♥️
