The rejoicing of my heart…

“Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart… Thou art my HIDING PLACE and my SHIELD: I hope in thy word.”
Psalm 119:111 &114

Well, Hello and Happy Monday!! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ» Can you all believe it’s one of the final days of August? This month is flying by! Today, as I jump into a new week, I am reminded of the rich heritage we have in God’s Holy Word. I read this little snippet written over 300 years ago and loved its truth, “The Scriptures, which testify of Christ and of His grace, and of the mind and will of God, are a portion of themselves; and a goodly heritage they are, better than thousands of gold and silver, preferable to all worldly inheritances; as they have been to many, who have forsaken all for Christ and his Gospel.” Better than thousands of gold and silver! 😊 YES!! LOVE THAT.β™₯️ God’s Word is like a treasure chest, full of the finest riches, just waiting for you to dig in and discover the beauty it holds! I often call verses that encourage my day “golden nuggets” πŸ˜‰ as His Word is just that. Pure Gold! I love how Psalm 12:6 puts it as it says, “The words of the LORD are PURE WORDS: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” SOOOOO, today I would love to hear what golden nuggets you’ve been digging up in God’s word! ☺️ Please make my day by taking a moment and leave a verse or portion of scripture that’s been encouraging you in the comment box below!! πŸ‘‡πŸΌ Ready, Set, Go… can’t wait to hear from YOU! πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

“The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.”
Psalm 19:8

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Lovely post Rachel and Amen!!πŸ˜πŸ˜ŠπŸ™‚

A couple verses that I read and have encouraged me in the last couple days are…
For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. Psalm 18:28

But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10

  2. I really was blest that you did this post!!! I always enjoy all of your posts!
I really have been encouraged by the verse I read recently that says As for me in my house we will serve the Lord Joshua 24:15. I am also always encouraged by Matthew 19:26 With God all things are possible. I don’t read it everyday but do try to quote it!!
    Have a great day!
    In Christ, your friend, Elizabeth

    1. Love those verses you shared, Elizabeth! β™₯️ I love the truth that there is absolutely NOTHING impossible with God and because of that truth, we can rest in whatever He may see fit to give/withhold/do knowing He is completely in control and the Giver of every good and perfect gift! Thank you for your comment. Such a blessing! πŸ€—

  3. John 11:25 has encouraged my heart recently. I put the verse on a card that I made for a friend, along with the picture a half circle rainbow that another friend photographed from her yard. It was partially reflected in huge puddles from the rainstorm that produced i, along with a telephone pole in the shape of a cross on the right side of the photo! The verse is a wonderful reminder that though WE were DEAD (in trespasses and sins), YET SHALL WE LIVE IN CHRIST!

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” Jn 11:25

    1. I love that reminder and that verse! I love the verses that follow and Martha’s reply:

And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, β€œYes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

      Yes, Lord, I believe! Amen!!πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜

  4. Thank you so much for this beautiful post, Rachel!! YES, what a delightful treasure hunt God gives us in His Word, as we find those “golden nuggets”🧑!!! I always love those passages that we “discover” and are so blessed by, as if we’ve never even seen before!!😍 It’s so amazing how often we may read a passage, and yet it’s new and fresh for us when we really need it the most!

THIS passage has been a go-to for me this week!!

“Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth, FOR IN THESE I DELIGHT,” says the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:23-24

  5. Martha Joy!! β™₯️ So loved seeing your comment come in. THANK YOU!! Mmmm, amen! He is the Lord, “exercising lovingkindness, judgement, and righteousness”!!! Praise God!! πŸ™ŒπŸ» Rejoicing in this truth tonight.

  6. Yes, I am SO grateful for His holy word!

“On that day Yahweh will become King over the whole earth – the LORD alone, and His name alone.” Zechariah 14:9
