I am truly honored to be chosen.💕🤗 I know what y’all may be thinking… “what in the world is a Liebster award??” Ahem… hold on one moment… *Runs to search engine and types in “what is Liebster award”.* First answer to appear reads, “The Liebster Award is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. 1.) What is your favorite Psalm?
This changes yearly and sometimes more often! But for this year, Psalm 23 is my favorite Psalm. 💕

2.) If you just found out that you had a vacation paid for to your top destination, where would you be going?
I’m pretty easy to please here! A beautiful warm beach or cozy mountain cabin with hiking to enjoy! 😍 It doesn’t have to be fancy just as long as there’s a good bakery or coffee shop nearby, camera in hand, and someone(s) to enjoy it with! 😊
3.) What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Being able to share the Word of God! I don’t know who will find my tiny spot on the world wide web but I do know the Word of God gives hope and shines light in the darkness. As I post in faith, I know that The Lord will use the scripture shared here to accomplish the purpose He has for it, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11. Every time I am able to share God’s Holy Word I think of the power it holds and the way the Lord can use it to encourage, equip, and convict hearts. God’s Word gives us hope! 🙏🏼
4.) Do you use a planner? If so, what is it like? If not, how do you keep track of your to-do list?
Noooooo. I am not a planner person! I keep track of my to-do lists in my brain. If my brain has reached max capacity, sticky notes stuck to my desk. 😉
5.) What is one of your favorite hymns?
😅 I have a few… dozen favorites! But one that has been a sweet blessing to me is “I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice”. The below verse is one I started praying years ago:
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
6.) Do you play a musical instrument?
Long story short, Clapping Sticks.🙊 Don’t ask and I won’t tell but if you are super curious, ask and I will fill you in! 😉😶
7.) What is one thing the Lord taught you in 2020?
Let’s see if I can answer this without making it 400 words! 😉 SURRENDER and ACCEPTANCE was 2020’s lesson. Before y’all start thinking about what I had to surrender and accept and jumping to assumptions, I will put your mind at ease. It was not one single big thing but just those little things that find their way into one’s day. We will daily be faced with the need to surrender our desires to the Lord’s, accept His will(“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done“), take up our cross (daily-Luke 9:23), and follow Him. This is a lesson I am still daily learning and will continue to learn in new ways with each day the Lord gives me! “As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.”Psalm 18:30
In acceptance lieth peace,
O my heart be still;
Let thy restless worries cease
And accept His will.
Though this test be not thy choice,
It is His — therefore rejoice.
8.) Who is one of your favorite Bible characters?
We will all agree that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is our favorite BUT if I had to choose a second it would be Ruth the Moabite!! Ruth is a continual example to me of selfless love and sacrifice. 💖
9.) What is one character quality you would like to grow in this year?
Meekness! Meekness= humility; resignation(←surrender); submission to the divine will, without murmuring or peevishness(peevish=easily irritated, especially by unimportant things); OPPOSED to pride, arrogance and refractoriness(← refractoriness=stubbornness; not easily melted or worked!) 🧡
“The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach His way.” Psalm 25:9,

10.) Do you prefer living a fast-paced life and being busy all the time or a more slow-paced, relaxing life?
Okay… I will answer but then define my answer! For me, Fast-Paced. Not fast-paced in the sense I have to always be going somewhere, at every social event, always seeking entertainment BUUUUT Fast-paced in the sense I like to have work to keep my hands busy and end the day with that good utterly-exhausted feeling knowing I have accomplished the tasks the Lord has put before me and given it my all!! We are told to do that which is before us “heartily” and with all our might. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord”!
11.) What is your top time management tip?
JUST DO IT! 😉 BE INTENTIONAL yet FLEXIBLE with your day. Set goals for the day, don’t dilly dally, and prioritize BUT remember, as servants of the Lord, our time is not our own and we must be willing to sacrifice our own schedules/goals for the sake/betterment of others and ultimately the will of the Lord. “And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.” Mark 9:25! Please note, just because I give this advice does not mean I am perfect in my performance of time management. 🙈 I am daily learning how to best redeem the time for Christ and sacrificing my own daily schedule for the sake of others!

💁🏼♀️ 11 completely random facts about me:
1.) I love to do the grocery shopping and organizing the deep freeze makes me happy!!!!😍😍😍 Strange but true.🤷🏼♀️
2.) I drink too much coffee!! Can’t sleep without it.😉☕️ Usually strong and black in a cute mug but will take a Caramel Mocha with 2 extra shots of espresso on special occasions!
3.) I have been extremely blessed to grow up in a large family and was gifted with a Home Education from k-12! ♥️ BEST EVER. So thankful and so tremendously blessed!!
4.) I’ve helped with chicken butchering… once!!!!! I was the feather girl. 😱🐓
5.) I’m a firm believer that Spring + Summer sunsets are best enjoyed during a loooong walk! In other words, I am somewhat of a walking fanatic.😍 Random side note: I can’t run to save my life! 🏃🏼♀️😘
6.) I have a sweet tooth the size of Texas! 🤭💕
7.) I am blessed by the Lord to be a product photographer and am so thankful my occupation! 📸

Your favorite thing about blogging was very encouraging to me and something I’ll be thinking about in my blogging journey. ❤ I loved your time management tip top. Procrastination is an area where the Lord is growing me right now.
I think I’ll skip the 11 random facts about me and people can jump over to my post to see what I put there, but I want to answer the 4 questions. 😊
1.) What is your current favorite Psalm?
Hmm, the one I have thought about the most lately would also be Psalm 23, since I’ve been learning a song based on it. So I think I’ll go with that!
2.) If you just found out that you had a vacation paid for to your top destination, where would you be going?
My top destination at this point would probably be Israel, but the place I want to get to the most right now is Mexico. I have a lot of friends there that I miss!
3.) As we enter March, what goals or plans do you have for this month?
I’m hoping to get ahead in blogging in March so that I can have a structured schedule for it. I would also like to get some scrapbooking and editing on a book done.
4.) Do you prefer living a fast-paced life and being busy all the time or a more slow-paced, relaxing life?
My personality is the kind that always wants to be busy doing something or going somewhere, but the Lord has been teaching me a lot in that area. So, while I still don’t like to just sit and do nothing very often, I have been learning to enjoy a more relaxed pace of life and just keeping busy at home.

Loved this post Rachel!! I was having some struggles this morning and some things you said really helped me. I do appreciate how you make Scripture a major theme on your blog, because it strengthens/encourages/convicts and speaks truth to your readers like nothing else can! Thank you! I loved reading your answers to the questions! And that definition of the word ‘meekness’- WOW!! That was pretty convicting and thought-provoking.
Okay, so here are my answers:
1. I love the Psalms so much, thus it is almost impossible to pick a favorite, but right now Psalm 16 has been really encouraging to me. “I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
2. If I had a paid vacation I would go to TN to meet my best friend who I’ve never met! <3
3. Goals for March… learn three new hymns on the piano, and to be faithful in the little things that God gives me to do each day!
4. I'm kinda like you on this one, Rachel. I prefer a slow-paced life when it comes to social events and always having to go somewhere, but I like a fast-paced life in the sense of keeping busy with projects, responsibilities, work, etc.. at home. :)
Random facts:
1. I love politics… whether it's getting informed by listening to my favorite Christian talk radio station (AFR), discussing politics with my siblings, or hearing a political discussion. :)
2. One of my favorite Bible characters is Paul.
3. I eat gluten, sugar, and dairy free because of some health problems.
4. I LOVE Chemistry! (Any other Chemistry-lovers out there?? I've discovered we are kind of few and far between! Lol!).
5. Going to concerts is one of my favorite things to do with my siblings!
6. Southern Gospel music pushes my happy button!!
7. I have six siblings, one sister-in-love, and one precious niece!
8. I was homeschooled all my life and I am so thankful for my godly parents and the teaching/training they have given me.
9. I don't enjoy grocery shopping (sorry to burst your bubble Rachel!! ;) ;) )
10. I have blue eyes, brown hair, and I'm 5'2".

1.) My current favorite Psalm is Psalm 62!! Especially verses 5-8 which say “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

2.)I would totally go to Montana and go fishing with my family + visit my friend that lives there!!! 🤩
3.) My biggest goal for this month is to be more faithful in reading the Bible!!! And then the next biggest goal would be better keeping in touch with friends and family, as well as managing time better! 😉
4.) I would have to say I prefer a more fast paced, busy life…. EXCEPT I like having some more relaxing days thrown in amongst the business!
Okay……. Random facts about myself😳😂…..
1.) I love to go on long walks
2.) I love to do pretty much any kind of yardwork or household chore! It keeps me nice and busy, and it’s nice to see progress as you go along with the work!
3.) I have never been on an airplane!
4.) I used to catch green anoles (A type of lizard), and keep them as pets when I was a little bit younger!
5.) I love to bake and cook, and like to experiment and come up with new recipes or make modifications to recipes to make them better
6.) I enjoy spending lots of time outside, watching birds and squirrels in the yard! And I get an especially nice view of our yard from our treehouse!
7.) I am very clumsy and am often getting cuts and bruises😝😂 but somehow have never broken a bone! Even though I trip and fall a lot🤦🏼♀️ But I’m thankful to not have had a broken bone yet😋☺️😃
8.) I love to have company to over for morning visits, and serving coffee and making baked treats for them when they come! (As you probably know by now, Rachel 😝😉)
9.) I am not a very good teacher! I’ve tried teaching family members and friends how to crochet or other things, and I’ve never had the patience to be a good teacher🤐😐🤦🏼♀️😂
10.) I don’t like cucumbers or any type of melon!!.😝🤢 I’ve tried to find ways to eat them so that I like them, but so far haven’t found a way to like them (EXCEPT for pickles)!!! Even the smell of them makes me nauseous, so I try to avoid them.
11.) I love to play board and card games with my family!!!! 🤩

If I found out my vacation had been paid for I would go to a small mountain cabin with lots of pine trees and hiking trails and my camera and hang out there with a friend for a week or so. 🤗😊
One of my goals for this month is to get most of my boxes unpacked (we just moved last week to Iowa) and in a semblance of order before the month is up… I have a lot of boxes!!😂 And also to spend more time with my siblings and keep in touch with all my friends.🤗🙂☺️😀😊🥰😃😉😁
I enjoy a mix of those 2 lifestyles…. I would definitely say that I enjoy more of a fast paced life(esp. when is comes to social life) but not too fast or I get really stressed. I like to stay busy but if I’m always running around and doing everything at once than I get stressed and tired. 🙃
#1- I LOVE cats!!! they are my favorite animal!!!🥰
#2- I LOVE to take pictures with my pocket digital camera!🥰
#3-My favorite kind of weather is in the 70’s with lots of sunshine and a little bit of wind. 😀

1. A current favorite Psalm for me is PSALM 23!!!!!!! (hmmmm, I wonder if you already knew that??!😉) So blessed by the peace and the close walk with our Lord that this Psalm paints a picture of and encourages us to.♥️
2. Wow, a surprise paid vacation???!!! I’m actually fairly easy to please too…because I’m not huge on traveling!!!😂 Hmmm, but I’d say either to visit a dear friend somewhere, and/or to a weekend cabin in the mountains.😁
3. Some goals! There’s some writing projects I want to get done, and more progress on the house!!!
4. Yep, pretty similar to your answer. I do enjoy some “slower” days, but I also LOVE the feeling of a good, productive day, and hands kept busy accomplishing the tasks of the day! I’m so thankful for the work that God has given me to do!!!
Okay, now for random stuff.🤭
1. Two foods that I enjoy making are 1. Pizza and 2. Cheesecake!!😀
2. I am NOT a good swimmer!! In fact, water sometimes scares me, but thankfully I’ve had opportunities the past couple summers to face those fears and be around water some. I’m slowly getting there.😉 However I love canoeing!!!🤗🛶
3. I really enjoy music!!! I enjoy playing some instruments, as well as listening to them! Fiddle, mandolin, piano, irish pennywhistle, and cello can all push my happy button.😁🤗
4. I really enjoy having flower bulbs planted! SUCH a sweet surprise in the springtime to find little shoots popping up!!!🤗🌷 Right now we’ve got tulips, irises, buttercups, a little hyacinth, and some others making their appearance!!! Love it!!😍
5. I am SO very blessed to work for my brother as his secretary/website manager/photographer/office girl! SUCH a privilege and an ideal job for me!!!😁
6. I rather enjoy emojis and use a lot of them!!!😂
7. I love evenings and nights! Such beauty as the sun sets, and such beauty in the night sky!!!
8. I love taco salad and can eat it for days straight!🤭
9. Although sewing used to frustrate me, I now enjoy SEWING blouses, and an occasional dress or skirt!! (Not to say that it doesn’t ever frustrate me anymore, but…) I love having those handmade clothes to wear, and sometimes I just feel like starting a project!!!
10. I have been so blessed to work on a house remodel project with my Daddy!!! It’s been SO special to learn so many new skills, and especially to work as a team with him!♥️
11. Hearing someone laugh quite often makes me laugh!!!😂 Isn’t it so amazing how contagious a joyful spirit can be???!!!♥️🤭😁😂🎉🤗 So thankful for the joy of the Lord…as Jesus said (John 15:11), “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”🙌🏻💕

I hope you’re all enjoying a very blessed day! Our God is good!! What a precious, loving Father we serve! To think of Him reaching down to us in our daily needs and weaknesses, to be our strength and our joy and give us the victory through Jesus! I just read John 16, where Jesus says in verse 33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Keep looking to Jesus today, whatever you’re going through. May He strengthen and encourage your hearts! Keep living faithfully for Him right where you are.

#2 I am would really like to go to the beach for 1 whole week or to the mountains in the spring or fall if it was paid for by someone!!!!!
#3 I don’t have ay specific goals for this month but as if every month my goals is to grow more in my walk with the Lord and to love more day to day, and to look to his word for help and guidance in my life!
#4 I would prefer a fast paced life where I was always busy and had things to do all time. I would love it if my life was fast abs the weeks went by quicker!!
