Snow Day?! ❄️😲

Well, Hello Texas!! How are you liking this snow?? ❄️☃️🥶😉 In a blink, an arctic blast swept through our normally warm and vast Texas turning it into a winter wonderland. What a surprise to wake up to a foot of snow and sub-zero temperatures!!😆♥️ The morning held plenty of hustle and bustle as side-walks were shoveled and farm animals were cared for. Frozen water trough broken open and fresh water and plenty of hay hauled by quite a few helping hands. Tiny Lambs snuggled close to their mother as they cautiously explored the snowy ground and chickens quickly ruffled their feathers while settling into their cozy nesting boxes!🐓 Girls bundled up and made their way outside for hours to build snowmen, sled down mounds[y’all, we are flat prairie land here so mounds turn into hills for sledding], and have a snowball fight or two! The evening was finished off with a large pot of chili to warm everyone up after the unexpected Texas Blizzard of 2021… Unprecedented? I would have to say so. Enjoyed? For this warm-weather-lover, Surprisingly yes.😄❄️ Thankful for God’s protection and the ability to see His beauty in the lovely snowy day! 💕 Happy Snow Day y’all!!

QUESTION! Have you been affected by this winter storm?? If so, how much snow have you gotten? Have you lost your power??

“The eyes of all wait upon Thee; and Thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest Thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.”
Psalm 145:15-16

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Hello Rachel!
I was excited to see your email in my inbox!!
    Looks like y’all had fun!
We also got a lot of snow, it’s been -12 degrees here, at first we got 5 inches which has now turned into about 2ft deep due to snow not melting and getting more snow throughout the week!! We built a snowman around our mailbox, the mouth being the box itself! Quite humorous to see the Amish stop and look at it.
We haven’t lost power, but have been preparing just in case.
Hope you all continue to have a happy, & blessed winter wonderland season❄🥶☃️⛄
    Blessings,
    Trinity
    Jeremiah 29:11

    1. Trinity!!! I was SO excited to see your comment fly into my inbox. THANK YOU!! 😊❤️ Your comment was such a fun blessing to receive!!
Brrr… y’all have been getting COLD weather. Makes me feel a little warmer just hearing -12 degrees!! 😲🤭
I LOVE the Snowman mailbox. That has to be TOOOOO CUTE!!!
Praying you all are blessed with power through the storm and enjoy a cozy warm house during this cold weather. 🙏🏼💗

Thank you for sharing Jeremiah 29:11 with me today!! What an amazing promise.GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

  2. WOOOOOWWWWWOOOOWWWWWOOOOOWWWWWOOOOWWWW!!!! Y’all got TONNNNNSSSS of snow!!! We got a LOT toooooo!!!!!!! I think 6 or 7 inches😳🥶 but I love it! It’s a nice change even though I typically like warm weather better! 😉 Looks like y’all had a lot of fun!!!!!! And WOW! Where did Ruth find that icicle?!?!? 😱

    1. Hi Anna!! I just wanted to tell you that I love your new profile picture!!🙂😍🤗😁😃
Also, I’ll try to respond to your e-mail soon!! we’ve been SOO busy!!!🙃

      1. Aww, thanks so much Caroline!!!!! I love yours too!! 😍 Haha! No rush in answering! 😉 You know that I know that when it takes you a long time to answer that it means you’re busy! 😉

  3. Yes!! We have about 10 inches of snow right now and a lot of ice as well!! 🙃😱🥶
Looks like y’all have a lot of fun though!! 🙂The chickens look a little bit uncertain about their frozen water.😂😉😄
We haven’t had any power outages but I’ve heard that that’s been happening in Texas.🙃😱 We were out shoveling today as well and we got rather cold! It’s been in the teens for a lot of the last few days! It’s very cold!!😱🥶 😂 Great pictures! and y’all’s dog is beautiful!!🙂☺️😁 What breed is she/he?? Stay warm down there!!😄🤗😁

    1. SOOOO thankful you all still have power! Yes, so many without power here in Texas.🙈♥️
The hens weren’t quite sure what had happened to them!🐔😆
Our dog, Lou, is a Border collie. I believe(if I remember correctly?!) he is a Blue Heeler Border collie! Quite a funny dog.😁

STAY WARM and keep up the great work, Caroline!!!!💕

  4. Well, Florida is the exception to the rule, I think. I quite envy all of you your beautiful snow!!! We have had powerful thunder storms here, lately, without power loss, praise the Lord. I had my car air conditioning on a couple of days ago! We flip-flop from colder weather, to weather in the low 80s! I love cooler weather. I have so much more energy. But cool weather is not the norm, here, unfortunately.

Ah, well, it’s where the Lord planted me, so here I will stay, unless He providentially moves me out someday.

Stay warm everyone, and enjoy the beauty of your white world!

    1. 😅 80 degrees sounds rather nice at the moment!! Thankful you are safe and sound. Enjoy the warmth for me and I will soak up some of the snow for you!! 🤗💗

  5. That’s exciting that you got snow!! Here in MI, it is not abnormal to get a good amount of snow, but I’m always happy to see the beautiful white outdoors! Right now we have accumulated about a foot of snow, and walking through it is a workout. Yesterday my dad plowed our driveway with the tractor for hours after it snowed. It’s been consistently in the teens for temperature, right now it’s 10 degrees F. We have not made anything yet, but probably sometime this week we will go out and have some fun 😊
Thankfully, our power did not go out. I’m happy to see that you got so much snow and are excited!

    1. When I posted this I laughed knowing all my Northern friends would laugh over my snow-excitement.😉❄️ Keep warm, Alaina!! Spring is on its way!! 😍💐

  6. I finally got to read this post because we have power again!!! Ours went off Monday evening and we were out of power for 45 hours (other than a couple times where it came on for a few minutes just enough to get our hopes up :D). So, we haven’t been out in the snow a lot because we have been trying to keep the door shut and keep the heat in. We got around 5 inches total. It’s been pretty exciting! Our area beat the record cold of -2 when we hit -4!!! Thank you for the fun snow pictures, Rachel!! That was a fun post. :)

    1. 😲🤭BETHANY!!! Y’all lost it again after you texted. OH MY! So thankful you are safe. Going to have to send you a text and check in on you now!!💖

  7. YES!!!!! SNOW!!!! 🤗❄️☃️🥶 Here in Arkansas we got 6 or 7 inches on Monday and today we have gotten LOTS! I think the last count was 18 inches (including the snow from Monday) and it is still snowing hard!! We have enjoyed lots of sled rides behind our four wheeler! 😊🤗 And it’s been fun to have all the working boys home for a few days… we’ve played lots of games, watched movies, and just enjoyed hanging out together! We will definitely remember Winter 2021 for a long time!!

    1. Your snowed-in a week sounds absolutely lovely, Sarah! 🤗❄️☃️ That is quite a bit of snow too. Definitely a winter to remember!!! 💗 Stay safe and enjoy the final Snow Days!! ❄️

  8. So much SNOW!!!!!!!!!😍😍😍 It looks so very white and beautiful and cold and fun!!!😄🤗❄️ Thank you so much for ALL of the beautiful photos!!! I can definitely relate to the frozen animal waters…Awww, the sweet baby lambs and sheep look slightly confused, but so very cute!😊🤗

With our ICE it was soooo very beautiful when the sun popped out this morning!!! Everything was so sparkly!!!🤗😍 Things warmed up a bit and snow started melting, but tonight a snow shower is BACK, and I’m excited.😉❄️ For us warm-state people, it’s exciting to get a “winter storm” every once in awhile!!!😄🤗😍

Thank you again for sharing, Rachel! Keep WARM out there!!!!

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” -Isaiah 1:18 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

    1. I have so enjoyed seeing Alabama’s rendition of our wintery storm!!😍❄️ Y’all have quite the lovely ice storm there. Isn’t it exciting?!? 😊😊😊 Definitely not something we get every winter!

Oh, love love love that verse from Isaiah! Perfect for the snowy day.💕

  9. Whoa!!! That’s a lot of snow!!😃❄☃️
We got a foot or so this month in Idaho, thankfully we haven’t lost our power this month, which has been a huge blessing!

To think, God knows what EVERY single snowflake looks like! After all, our Creator made them! ☺ We see them falling, but not all the intricate detail of each and every one! We see the beautiful blanket of snow coating the land, but have no comprehension of the millions of little snowflakes that make up that vast blanket of white! Yet God knows the number!
And He loves us, cares for us, and watches over us!❤☺🙌 What a wonderful Saviour!☺🎶❤

    1. Amen! I love your observation of a snowflake. It is humbling to think God made every single snowflake that has made up the snowfall here in Texas… and beyond! Isn’t the unique design of a snowflake so amazing? And to think, no two snowflakes are alike!!! Each snowflake points to our AWEsome Creator! 😊💕❄️ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork.-Ps 19:1 What a wonderful Savior, indeed!!
      LOVE hearing from you, Jill!

  10. P.S. 😄 I so enjoyed seeing all of your fun and lovely pictures and the bird at the bird feeder particularly warmed my heart! 🐦 So beautiful!☺

    1. Aw, thank you!! I had tons of fun taking the photos. The bird photo was super special to capture. My brother yelled from the door, “RACHEL! You got to come out and get a picture of the birds NOW!!!!!!!” So thankful he pulled me away from dinner prep to snap a few photos! :) :) :)

  11. I know it’s been a while since you’d posted that, we have been really busy! But, I wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoyed seeing the Photos and the beautiful way you wrote the post! I love to see the beautiful talent God has given you in photography and someone capturing it the way you do is so lovely and I just sit back and admire God’s handiwork. You are an amazing person Rachel! Your whole family is and I’m so glad we have gotten to “Meet” each other over Spring 100!!!

    May God bless you all,

    Hope for the J team.

    1. Hope, you are a blogging encouragement. THANK YOU for your kind words!! 💕 I am far from amazing🙈 BUT I serve an AMAZING God who is faithfully doing a good work in me which He began and promises to continue until the day of Jesus Christ!! ♥️ So thankful. 🤗
