“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
Romans 8:22-26
“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” 😊 I absolutely love Romans 8 and the abundance of goodness found in that chapter!!♥️ With a cup of Hot Cocoa in hand, I am here and happy to be back at our Random Question Wednesday posts!! ☕️ A necessary break was taken to focus on a few work-related projects but thankfully it was just a pause in the Wednesday fun I so enjoy posting here!!😍 Can you believe we are in the middle of December? The days have grown short and wintery here in North Texas. Drizzly, misty rain and moody clouds can be seen out the window. No snow for us but the cold weather these past few days sure does feel like it wants to give us a winter storm! It has given me a good excuse to have extra Hot Cocoa and wear extra-festive sweaters! How has your December been? Have you gotten snow in your part of the country?? ❄️

“And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:27-28
😍😍😍 Ah!!! I so missed these posts, and was thrilled to see a new post notification in my emails today!!!
No!! I can hardly believe it’s the middle of December! These past few months have really flown by fast!!🙊
1). Thanksgiving!!! 😁
2). Oh noooooo!!!!!! How am I supposed to choose just one?! There are sooooooo many good memories from this year!! Hmm…… I’ll just list a handful of them: My sister, music teacher, and I played music on piano and mandolin got for my parents on their anniversary; we did the Spring 100 for the first time this year, and we had a BLAST!; Got to meet you (Rachel), and some of your family; my sister and I got to spend an entire day with some of very best friends that we don’t get to see often; but one of the best yet would be when my mom and I heard the news that my Dad could come to the hospital with us when I had my surgery! Originally, my hospital was allowing only one parent into the hospital, but because of the severity of the procedure, they made an exception and let my dad come, too! 😍
3). So my theme verse for 2020 is Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
” this year has had its challenges, but it is such a blessing to know that all things will work for good in the Lord’s timing! HE will help us through the challenges…. We Just have to trust in Him! 💖
Ooooooh! I would have to say ski lift… Even though I’ve never been on one and would probably be terrified, because I DO NOT like elevators at all!!!!! 😬 They make me nervous 😂 Plus at least with the ski lift I’d be outside 😋
LOVED your questions and the super encourageing verses you shared!!!!!! 😍😁💖
Ooh!!! Loved seeing your answers, Anna!! ♥️🙌🏻 Day maker.😊😊😊
You have some fabulous memories from 2020. So enjoyed reading through them and being a part of your 2020!! 🎉🎉🎉
Great verse too!! That is a promise worth remembering.💗
Oooh! To answer your question “Would you rather never be able to have coffee again, or never have dessert again?” WOW! That is hard. 😂 I had to think about that for a few hours!😉🤪 Probably if I had to choose, I would say I’d rather never have coffee again.😉🙈
Happy Wednesday, ANNA!!! :)
Yeah… At Least if you never had coffee again, you could have coffee-flavored desserts 😋😂 let’s hope you never have to never have coffee again, tho! 😉 That would be sad! 😭😂😋
Hehe, I was thinking the same thing about coffee flavored desserts! ;) ;) ;)
Oh, and a random question for you….. Would you rather never be able to have coffee again, or never have dessert again? 😜😂😆
No snow here in Florida, just some chilly, but beautiful walking weather. I have so much more energy this time of year! A sweater and/or a jacket, and I’m good to go! (I would love to have some Christmas snow, though!!!!!! YES!!)
1. Favorite holiday? I think I prefer Christmas, though Thanksgiving with my church on the Sunday before the holiday is very rapidly catching up! I love the Christ-like joy that permeates Christmas, and how friendly even strangers get during this time of year. They reflect Jesus, whether they know it or not. Halloween, on the other hand, is reflected negatively through people, I have noticed. It is the vast difference between light and dark. Even in observed days! (I refuse to call Halloween a holiday.)
2. Best memory from 2020? I marveled at Anna, whose joy raced through her entire answer! I was wracking my brain to come up with even ONE good memory from 2020!!! Oh, what a year!!! I’ll not go into details, but I’d actually like to drop-kick 2020 all the way into tomorrow. :-D
Don’t get me wrong, I have LOTS to be thankful for; God is so good!!! I’ll smile and leave it at that. :-)
3. Many verses have blessed me in a special way this year, but one that comes to mind that may be a good one for 2020 is found in I Tim 2:8: “I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” God is always on the throne and His children glorify Him by not getting angry at circumstances and changes, or doubting what He is doing in our lives. Pray, and then let God be God.
Another excellent verse for 2020 is found in Colossians 3:15: “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Oh, how I need to daily practice that!
Stuck on a ski lift or in an elevator? An elevator, definitely! Ski lifts are COLD!!! They sway and rock when stopped. (Cue the chattering teeth!) At least an elevator is dry and relatively warm. It also has a hatch in the roof for rescuers to help out stranded victims. :-)
Excellent questions, Rachel!!! Soooo, what are your answers to the above questions?
Sheri!!!!! What a joy to see your comment come in. I SOOOO ENJOYED all your answers!! And my reply is going to be way too long I fear. 🤣
A Christmas Eve-Christmas Day snow would be lovely and very welcome for me!! As long as it warmed back up to 60 within a few days.😉 Glad the weather is exhilarating in your area!! ☺️🧡
I love your reasons for choosing Christmas!! And I very much agree regarding Halloween.🙈 I guess for those who enjoy exalting death and darkness, it sadly would be a holiday! 😬😬😬
” For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Ephesians 5:8-11
😅 I have a feeling many people would like “to drop-kick 2020 all the way into tomorrow.” 😉 I am thankful to the Lord that though many challenges were faced, He showed Himsefl faithful every step of the way! I’m thanking the Lord for the hope of 2021 and His continued mercies through it all. ❤️
Great verses, so encouraging!! I love Colossians 3:15! ❤️
“what are your answers to the above questions?” Oooh! Let’s see… I hadn’t even started thinking up my answers until you asked!!
Favorite Holiday is Thanksgiving though this year Christmas may be coming close to tying! 💗 (I would fill you in on why Thanksgiving over Christmas with a close tie this 2020 but this comment would turn into novel lenght😉) It’s been a beautiful December filled with grace from the Lord and the ability to slowly unwi and I have been reminded in a deeper way this year of the Peace that came to earth that night long ago. “For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us” Eph 2:14
Favorite Memery from 2020! Definitely, hands down, the week my 2 youngest sisters both made an open profession of faith, acknowledging The Lord as their SAVOIR! Wowowowow, 12 years of prayers I have prayed for both of them answered in 2 days….😭💗 I am usually not one who cries happy tears but that was the day things changed! Sooooo happy beyond words. So thankful!!!!!!! God is good! 🙏🏼♥️
Now the strange thing is, I usually have 1 solid verse that becomes my “verse of the year” but for 2020, I think there were so many different lessons and joys and changes and challenges to overcome in this 1 year that each month held its own verse! The main verse that has stuck with me would be:
“The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.” Psalm 147:11
I hope in His mercy! So thankful that He is my faithful merciful Savior. ♥️♥️♥️ And now I am off to bed! I did our monthly grocery run today and I feel my nightowl self decided to stay back at the Aldi cart-drop! 😉😴 Thank you for blessing me with your comment, Sheri!!
Rachel, I also love Psalm 147:11! To think that WE can give Almighty God pleasure!! That is truly amazing and humbling!
I rejoice with you and your family over your two sisters’ redemptions!!!!!!! The salvation of souls, especially of loved ones that we have prayed for, is the very best and highest kind of joy that we can ever have!! The only other joy that compares, is the joy one gets in the presence of God, when He is near in a special, illuminating way! That is heaven here on earth!
Loved your comments and your answers and the Bible verses you shared!!!
Have a very blessed day and week!
I know its late.. But I really wanted to answer these awesome questions!
My favorite Holiday? Christmas! (Although I love Thanksgiving too:)
Best Memory? Just being together. Sitting around a warm room and spending time with family.
1 Corinthians 13.
I’ve never have been on a Ski lift before but I’ve always been afraid of getting stunk on a Elevator. So, I can’t really say! I would be afraid on a lift if it was stunk over a big open drop. So I don’t know!
I enjoy seeing your posts Rachel!
May God bless you and your family this Christmas season….
Merry Christmas
Hope Johnson
HOPE!!!!!! 😍♥️ How much I enjoyed seeing your comment come in!!!
I hope you have the best Christmas ever with your family. 😊😊😊
Oh! I love 1 Corinthians 13. Super convicted by verse 5 this year, Love “Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil”.
I don’t know if I have ever been on a ski lift either!! 🤔
I enjoy seeing your comments so thank you for them! They are like a Christmas gift all wrapped in gold.🤗🤗🤗
1. Favorite Holiday: I’m with you on this one, Rachel! Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday as long as I can remember, and it still is, but Christmas has just been extra special to me this year.
2. Best Memory from 2020: I can definitely relate to you, Mrs. Sheri, on this one. I probably had expected my best memory for 2020 to be graduating college, but not getting to attend the graduation really put a cloud over it. I would say my best memory isn’t one particular thing, but it is the all of the blessed family time we have enjoyed and time at home in a routine. Bonfires and family read-aloud have been really special.
3. 2020 verse: The verse that I chose last year for 2020 is “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:10 It went with my word of the year, perspective.
Would you rather be stuck on a broken ski lift or in a broken elevator? I have never been on a ski lift, but I think that would be very scary if you were up high. I’d probably have to choose broken elevator. My dad and brother got stuck in an elevator at a hotel in Israel, but eventually the hotel staff got them out. We also visited some friends in an apartment building for a Christmas party, and the mom and her son both got stuck in the elevator and had to be helped out by the fire department. It was quite strange having all their company waiting with the other son for the hostess to be helped out of the elevator, but it made for an exciting party.
Thank you for the fun questions, Rachel!!! I enjoy these posts!
Oh, I love your choice of scripture for 2020, Bethany! 💖💖💖
That is too funny about the elevator delay and the Christmas party!! Thankful they made it out safe and sound.😊
I am so glad you enjoyed the post! Your answers make it so fun. So enjoy seeing your comments pop up!! THANK YOU, Bethany!!
Oh yay! Random Question Wednesday! Glad to see this back, Rachel!
Yes, I cannot believe Christmas is NEXT week! Where has this year gone? It snowed a little here in Arkansas but it didn’t stick or anything. :( We are hoping for snow this year because we are waaay past due for some!
1. My favorite holiday is Christmas! I just love celebrating Christ’s birth, and all the decorations/lights, gift giving, and spending time with family.
2. Wow… my best memory from 2020?? I guess it would be a collection of memories of every time I got to see my precious one-year-old niece and how she makes us smile, laugh, and love her to pieces! *heart eyes* Some good other memories are meeting YOU, Rachel, at the Bontrager’s concert in Texas, and doing Spring100 for the first time this year! :)
3. A special verse for this year is Proverbs 3:5-6 -“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” This summer I went through a Bible study on ‘trust’, and God really used that to prepare my heart for things that were coming into my life just weeks later. I will never forget those lessons of trust He taught me! God is SO GOOD!!
I would rather be stuck on an elevator. That sounds more comfortable than a ski lift (though I have never been on a ski lift so I really can’t say :) ).
YAY! So happy to see you back for Random Question Wednesday, Sarah!!!👏🏻😊
It sounds as if you have a beautiful Christmas season! I so enjoy the time our family enjoys together as we slow down for the week for Christmas here and celebrate the gift of Salvation. What a joyous time! 💝
Ah, blessed to be a part of your 2020 and so thankful to have met you too! That was an unexpected surprise and highlight of my 2020.😍😍😍
Amen, He is so good! So thankful for the preparation The Lord does in our hearts through His Word for trials, joys, and unknowns we will face in the days to come! 🙏🏼
Ha, I do believe the elevator would be much more comfortable and warm!😉😉😉
Have a beautiful evening, Sarah! 🙋🏼♀️
O.K.
I think the e-mail notification about this post must have accidentally gone to spam or trash and I’ve been so busy that I’ve been forgetting to check your blog so I missed this post and only saw it a couple days ago so here goes!! :) :) :)
Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite holiday to celebrate!!😊
Oh dear!! There are SOO many best memories from 2020!!!! 1 of them are doing the SPRING100 for the first time. that was SOO fun and I can’t wait to do it again this coming year!!😍😉😊😁😀
Another favorite memory is doing construction on 3 of our rental cabins with my Daddy and an Amish worker who was helping us!!
And when we finished we had a mini celebration with the Amish worker and it was SO fun!!! That is probably my favorite memory from 2020. :) :) :) I LOVED being able to help my Daddy and to learn from him!!☺️😊😁
This was my theme verse for 2020….
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
I think I would rather get stuck in a ski lift… when you’re in a ski lift at least you can see where you are but if you’re in an elevator you can’t see where you’re stuck! 🙃
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
