The Best Yet!

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Psalm 136:1

The turkey was tasty and the time spent together priceless!๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Thanksgiving 2020 is going down in the books as the best yet for our family and I have a few photos to prove it. โœจ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿฆƒ An extremely busy week almost kept me from posting but I am of the belief โ€œbetter late than neverโ€! Hopefully, you feel the same.๐Ÿ™ˆ From a full kitchen filled with festive smells [and lots of dirty dishes] as everyone contributed to the Thanksgiving meal preparation to our annual Leake Family Turkey trot[y’all, I will be the first to admit, our turkey trot is not serious and pretty hilarious to watch๐Ÿ˜…]! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‡Then ending the day with our over-the-top Thanksgiving dinner and a massive amount of pie which was all too delicious. I do wish I had gotten a picture of all the pies lined up.๐Ÿฅง It was quite a sight and I was as stuffed as the turkey by the end! ๐Ÿ˜‰ How good the Lord has been to us and I am so thankful to be able to celebrate His faithfulness with my family this Thanksgiving! The verse that really encouraged my heart the most this Thanksgiving season and really was quite convicting was “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thes 5:18. “No if and or buts about it”, we are told to give thanks in every circumstance for this is the will of God! A continual attitude of gratitude and heart that is filled to overflowing with praise. ๐Ÿ˜Š So thankful for that reminder! So, without further ado, how about a little peek into our Thanksgiving Day??๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป Before you leave, let me know how YOUR thanksgiving was in the comment box below!!๐Ÿงก

“I will praise Thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all Thy marvellous works.”

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. This was an awesome post! I always need the reminder to give thanks in everything! It makes me think of the other verse that says :”Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” I remember when someone pointed that out to me and I was conscious of that from then on when I asked God for something. Thanksgiving is thanksliving and it’s the way to be! Thank you for sharing! It is wonderful to have family, the joy of accepting and loving one another and learning to dwell with each other with understanding! May you continue to grow in HIS grace and glory!

  2. I loved this post, Rachel! It was so much fun seeing your family’s Thanksgiving. We had a special Thanksgiving day here, even though one family member was missing, but we connected with him on the phone, and that made our day complete! Thank you for the reminder to be thankful no matter what!

    1. Your Thanksgiving sounds like such a beautiful time and one you will remember for years to come!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Loved hearing about it, Caroline! Thank you. :) :)

The Turkey Trot is a run/race. Usually, most towns will have a “5K turkey Trot” race. One of my brothers actually participated in our town’s race then came back in time to join us for our family’s! So for fun a few years ago, I started a tradition of having a family turkey trot. Far less than a 5K in distance but we all have such a fun time and quite a few laughs in the process.๐Ÿ˜ƒ It’s a tradition I look forward to enjoying for many years to come as our family grows in number, Lord willing!!โค๏ธ

  7. Praise the Lord for such a blessed day!! Thank you for hosting the trot! Only wish I could have owned that medal!๐Ÿ˜…

Leave a comment and make my day! :)
