Y’all, it’s random question Wednesday! ππ» I enjoyed all the fun answers received last week and the ability to get to know some of you a little better. THANK YOU! So how about another round of fun and very random questions?? π You can refer back to last week’s Random Question Post for the full instructions but they are super simple. ππ» Let me know a little more about yourself by answering the super random questions and “would you rather” question below and feel free to throw a random question or two back my way! Ready, set, GOπ:
1.) If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
2.) What is your favorite breakfast food?
3.) If you could permanently eliminate one chore from your daily to-do list, which would it be? π
ππΌββοΈ WOULD YOU RATHER always be 10 minutes late or always be 20 minutes early?
As I type out this post I also have a random verse going through my mind. The verse is Galatians 2:16, “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” That is GOOD NEWS, isn’t it?! “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4. Praising the Lord for the finished work of Jesus Christ our Lord! Hey, while you are here, let me know which Scripture has been on your mind lately! ππΌββοΈ
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
Oh I love those verses you shared!! :) I’ve been reading over Proverbs 8 recently and have been so blessed! Love that chapter!
Alrighty, answers to the random questions…oh my! So hard to choose! I love being home, but also enjoy seeing different parts of the country! :) I would love to spend time in Israel! It would be so amazing to see all the places Jesus walked and truly such a special place to visit! I know the food would be amazing too! :) Ah, which leads into question #2. Hmmm….healthy smoothie loaded with protein, oats and some fruit. Yum!
#3. Lol, let’s see…I don’t know. Thankfully some of my most tedious tasks I don’t have to do everyday, like attacking a paper monster pile! While I don’t always enjoy making dinner, I’d hate to see it permanently deleted off my list! Lol! :)
Now some random questions back at ya! :)
What’s your favorite place to visit?
City girl or country girl?
Favorite Bible verse? (Or is that one of those oh so impossible questions to answer?) ;)
Oooh! I have been listening through Proverbs during my workdays and have been so blessed by it. Love these verses from Chapter 8:
“Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.”
I agree with #1 is hard. Home with family wherever that may be is a blessed place to be! :) I have heard several people who have gone to Isreal say it was a trip so worth taking! β€οΈ Of course, they didn’t stay for the entire year but a couple of weeks! π
πππ Good healthy breakfast choice for starting out your day!
Maybe #3 should be “temporarily suspended” instead of completely eliminated! π Dinners are my meal to make at our house too. π
Oh! Good questions!! Okay, let’s see what answers come to mind immediately to your questions!!π
City girl or country girl? (If you would have asked me this in my teens, my answer would have been complete different) I MOST definitely prefer the country over the city. As long as there is a good bakery not too terribly far away that I can enjoy once a month or so! π
Favorite Bible verse? That is one of those impossible questions but the very first that comes to mind would be Psalm 147:11, “The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.” and then Romans 5:1-6!!
LOOOOOOVED seeing your comment come through, Jill!!π And loved all your answers/questions. ππ»π THANK YOU!
1) I don’t think I’d want to leave my home, family, and friends for a whole year! But some places I’d like to visit someday would be Scotland or Iceland… Or the Pyrenees! Oh, I don’t know. :P
2) A breakfast food or meal? If just a food, probably coffeecake. If a meal, biscuits, bacon, eggs, and hollandaise sauce!
3) Laundry! ;)
I would rather always be 20 minutes early!
πOK! I think we share the same taste for breakfast foods!!!!!!!!! You named all of my favorites. π Including hollandaise sauce!!
Ohhhhh, I could see where laundry would be a nice task to give up if possible. ππ I am very spoiled to and thankful for my mom who finds running and folding loads of laundry therapeutic!π
Oh! Good choice on the would you rather. My sisters and I were talking about it this morning and trying to figure it out. π
LOVED hearing from you, Leona!!! π
I lived in Japan for a year back in the early 70’s. It was a wonderful experience, and my culture-shock actually came when I returned to Los Angeles, CA! Japan had a small-town-atmosphere, gentle, polite, and actually very modest in many ways. LA was immodest, loud, rude, too fast, and shocking after Japan. But for the past 35 years, I’ve lived outside of a small town in Florida. I love the country. I’m a content home-body. However, for the sake of your question, it would be enjoyable to spend one year in a town along the coast of Connecticut or Massachusetts. I would LOVE to see, feel, smell and experience real seasons!!! Real leaves changing colors, and snow, and all the things depicted in seasonal calendars! I would love to be near the ocean without being concerned about hurricanes!!
I eat my favorite breakfast every other day, which is hot cereal, made with a mixture of cereal grains, chia seeds, raisins, plain yogurt and almond milk. I always start with a base of oats that I grind myself, and chia seeds. Then I add an additional grain, like grits or farina. My sweetener is lots and lots of raisins. I cook the grains and raisins for 10 minutes, then let it cool while I clean the kitchen. Before eating I add the yogurt and cut it gently into the cereal, leaving lots of chunks. Delicious! (At least to me.) :-))
I would eliminate making dinner. Breakfast and lunch are easy. Coming up with a meal, and cooking dinner is another story!
Being punctual is just good manners. But always being 20 minutes early to an invited function could be as disconcerting to hosts as always being late. One would arrive when hosts are scrambling with last minute details, getting ready for guests. However, always being late is an inconvenience to others if they are waiting to get started. But usually, people are arriving, milling about and chatting, so being 10 minutes late wouldn’t be a terrible inconvenience. So, for social functions, I would rather always be 10 minutes late. For church or for a gathering that starts precisely at a certain time, I would rather be 20 minutes early, though in reality, I am seldom that early!
Fun questions! :-)
What would be your answers, Rachel?
Always get excited seeing I have a comment from you!! βΊοΈππΌπ I love your description of Japan and Iβve heard many similar testimonies of culture shock once people come home from extended stays oversees. That is very interesting but makes perfect sense! β€οΈ A contented homebody. βΊοΈ Love that!! Same here.
Your favorite breakfast sounds rather delicious and packed full of energy!! Iβll join you for a bowl if ever I show up on an βevery other dayβ! π (as long as itβs free of nuts. π)
I loved your answer to the would you rather!!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ That is what my sisters and I ended up coming up with! Never would you want to arrive someoneβs home for dinner 20 minutes early, better to be 10 minutes late for the sake of the hostess!! πBut if it was a wedding or church, a little early would allow for meeting and greeting!
Ok! Let me see…π
If I could live anywhere for a year I would do the Appalachian Mountains! It would be a great place to experience each season (especially the changing colors of Autumn πwhich we donβt get here) and filled with beautiful views from what Iβve seen. π
Favorite breakfast food: I eat my favorite every morning! π An Egg with some sort of breakfast meat and cubed potatoes. π³π₯π
Oh, #3 is easy to answer! Making my bed. π I donβt know why but thatβs the least favorite chore for me! π
I like to be on time so choosing between being early or late is hard! πIf I *had* to choose between the two Iβd choose 20 minutes early. I can always part around the corner for 26 minutes if Iβm showing up to a friendβs house for dinner. π€£π
Thank you for taking time to answer, Sheri!! π€π
Nice answers, Rachel! π
We both live in the south, and we would love to live a year in a place that has seasons- especially Fall! πππππππ
Your fav breakfast sounds yummy! π
I love how tidy my room looks after l make my bed, but l must confess that it doesnβt always get done because l live alone! πππ
I like where you finally settled with the question, 20 minutes early or 10 minutes late. Good answer! I donβt usually arrive early because lβve helped lock up the church for years, which makes me the last, or next to the last, person to leave. So l do my visiting after church. π
1) Alaska. I enjoy cooler, even cold weather.
I’d like to go salmon fishing. I like to fish. I like salmon. Fishing for food is practical, one must eat and so it wouldn’t be a waste of time.
I also think it would be interesting to experience the light and dark differences.
2) I’m really not a picky eater. I feel the Lord has lead me away from the worldly wisdom of “food groups”, etc. I think it’s more important to give thanks for whatever one has to eat. Hudson Taylor inspires me in this. As does Jesus…if it were important to have all of the “food groups” daily, Jesus wouldn’t have given the people simply bread and fish. Contentedness seems to be a godly attribute in contrast to the potential of covetousness or overeating that some of us are tempted by at the king’s table.
3) Laundry, hands down.
Honestly, I am usually 10 minutes late. I hate it. It’s rooted in me not being considerate of other’s time. I would prefer to be 20 minutes early.
I hear Alaska is a beautiful place to be in the summer with the extended light!! Iβm not sure how I would handle the lack thereof in the winter months thought. π
Glad you arenβt a picky eater!! And have the ability to eat without having to be picky. π
Hopefully with all those cute little girls of yours growing up, laundry duty can be βdispersed abroadβ.π But until then, keep calm and fold on! πͺπ»πππ»
YAAAAAY I love these posts! :D
1.) If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
Hmmm…this question was HARD…like really hard. I love to travel! I would live in Minnesota for a year! :D It is BEAUTIFUL and I would love to spend a year there growing in my relationship with God and enjoying the beauty of His creation!
2.) What is your favorite breakfast food?
uuuummm…pancakes, I love pancakes XD. All types of pancakes, especially ones with strawberries, bacon, chocolate chips, or blueberries in them (banana pancakes are okay too)
3.) If you could permanently eliminate one chore from your daily to-do list, which would it be?
It would be dishes, not that I mind doing them, but I would have more time to do other things if I didn’t need to do them XD
Alright, questions for you:
What are your dreams for the future?
If you could meet one person, other than Jesus, who would you meet?
I forgot the would you rather! XD I would definitely rather be 20 minutes early because being late is stressful and I prefer being early for sure!
Yayayay!!! I am so glad you love these posts.ππ» That MAKES MY DAY! I love seeing your answers!! π
You know, I don’t think have never really considered to Minnesota’s landscape. π€ Sounds like a peaceful place! π
Your answer to #2 made me so hungry when I read your comment at midnight! π I almost got out of bed and made a batch of pancakes. π Pancakes with bacon on them is a genius idea!! I need to give that a try. π₯π₯
Those dishes can definitely pile up!! ;) I know from personal experience.π
Ok, if we ever end up at the same event together, I will look for you 20 minutes early!! ππ
Ooh! I had to wait to answer your comment to think about my answers to your questions! GOOD ONES!! Ok, here they are:
What are your dreams for the future? Hm. I think my main dream for the future is to live a life that is well-pleasing to the Lord (by His grace)and wherever He puts me to “be all there” seeking to honor Him in the ministry He has given me! I am thinking of what I often refer to my “life verse” which is Ps 73:28, “But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.” :) I have desires for the days ahead that I bring to the Lord in prayer but know His will is perfect and whatever He has for me will be a GOOD thing!π
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee.” Ps84:11-12
If you could meet one person, other than Jesus, who would you meet? Oh wow!! Now this one is a hard one for me to answer!! I think I would like to meet Ruth the Moabite. I have been going through the book of Ruth this month and have been blessed by the virtues the Lord God gave her!
GREEEEEAAAAT questions, Rae!! Those were so fun to answer. ππ
Yes, pancakes with bits of bacon in them are gooooood! :D :D Haha, yep, the dishes sure do pile up! It is amazing that you trust God with your future! Those are the best dreams one could have! <3 Yes, Ruth sounds like an amazing person, I would love to meet her or Esther! I am glad you enjoyed answering them! <3 :) :D
Such fun questions!!!! :) I love the idea to do this kind of post! :D
If I could live anywhere in the world for a year I would probably live in Whales or at my best friends house if she would let me! XD
I LOVE all the gorgeous scenery in Whales and I LOVE all the green as well and it has lots of nice places to hike too. :)
And I LOVE my best friend though if I lived a whole year with her that might get a little tiring for her but I think I would love it! XD :D
Hmm…My favorite breakfast food is probably Apple Oatmeal Bars that we usually make with our homegrown apples…We make a crust with oats and butter and sugar and then we stew our apples with cinnamon and put them over the top on the crust and then we put more of the oat mixture over top of the apples and cook it in the oven and it is SO yummy! ;D Either that or Oven Pancakes that are So yummy as well!! :D
If I could permanently eliminate one chore from my daily to-do list I would probably choose washing dishes or making dinner. :0 ;) :D XD Though folding laundry is pretty close as well. XD ;D :)
I would definitely rather always be 20 minutes early! I do not like to be late!!! :( ;0 :)
A Bible verse that has been on my mind lately is….
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Here are some questions for YOU!! :) !!
Do you like to drive?
Do you enjoy organizing?
What is your favorite way to exercise?
I am so glad you like the random questions!!! I love love LOVE reading your replies. ππ»π
Whales sounds like a wonderful place to explore for a year.ππ Hehe, I laughed over your comment about staying with your best friend! I have found that the best of friends need a break for a bit. Unless they are sisters! π
Hehe, I love making dinner so I can’t sympathize with you on that BUUUUUUT I totally agree on laundry folding! ππ One of those tasks I have to repeat Philippians 2:14 to myself while folding. ;)
“How perfect is John 14:27 for the days we are living in?! Thank you for sharing that, Caroline!! What a blessed reminder that HE is the giver of peace. “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Col 3:15
OOOoooh!!!!! FUNNN questions. π Let’s see….
Do you like to drive? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very much so. ππ I love it so much that I am the designated driver when my sisters and I go out!
Do you enjoy organizing? It depends on what needs organizing. π When time allows I LOOOOOOOOOOVE organizing the pantry, refrigerator, and deep freeze!! π And I very much enjoy organized spaces which make all other forms of organizing enjoyable knowing the results are worth the effort.π
What is your favorite way to exercise? WALKING!!!!! It is something I have done nearly every day since I was 14 or so?! I try to get 2 miles every morning and then grab a mile in the evening when the Lord gives me time. π I also enjoy jumping rope if it’s too rainy out! (that was a good question!! I will have to add it to my list to ask y’all next time.π)
Those were fun questions, Caroline!!! Thank you so much for asking and answering mine. πβ€οΈ
Caroline, where is Whales? When l read it the first time, l thought you had a typo, and meant Wales. But since you and Rachel kept spelling it Whales, l got curious. π
You know, I bet it was meant to be Wales! π§ At least thatβs what I thought. I am(sadly) notorious for typing a little too fast and not proofreading thoroughly(working on that!)ππ Typos on my end tent to happen far more often than Iβd prefer. π
Too funny! Me too! And this blog has no way to correct mistakes once we have submitted our comments. LOL: I didn’t catch your “tent to happen” until reading your comment the second time. My brain replaced ‘tent’ with ‘tend’ automatically. I think that happens a lot. ;-)
ππ I don’t think the iPhone Autocorrect system helps either. ;) It always thinks it knows me better than I know myself! π Thankful for the Lord creating the brain with it’s own “autocorrect system”!
1.) I would love to live in Israel for a year. You could see pretty much everything in that time!!!
2.) Biscuits and gravy!
3.) I think I would say dishes. Cooking is fun but cleanup is not my favorite.
ππΌββοΈ I would rather be 20 minutes early. :)
I hope one day you get to take a nice well-rounded trip to Israel!!! I think you would love it.β€οΈ GREAT CHOICE on favorite breakfast!! π
1. I would love to live in Normandy, France or Charleston,SC. They are both such amazing cities and it would be awesome to live there and soak up all the history!
2. I would probably choose pancakes.
3. I really do not like cleaning my shower. That would be nice to get rid of! :)
And I would rather be 20 minutes early.
I love your choices of places to live!! I have wanted to visit South Carolina for a long time!! Maybe someday. :) :)
2.) We should have a pancake party one of these day! π₯π
Oooh! I don’t blame you on the shower cleaning. I am spoiled and have a sister do does it for me! π
LOVED your comment, Emma!! Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions. β€οΈ
