shall HE not much more clothe you…

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?….

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:28-33

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Rachel, these are some of my favorite verses(though I have many, especially in the Psalms). How many times have I worried about finances, when I was single and when I was married. When I would be consumed with worry, the Lord always saw fit to have those verses part of my devotion for the day. Even now, I am reading a book based on Psalm 23 by Philip Keller. The Lord IS our Shepherd and wants to provide for ALL our needs! Physical, spiritual, emotional. HE is the Great Shepherd, and He loves His sheep. He promised, He stated it in His Word, and He will be faithful to do as He says. He does want us to come to Him all the time. Such beautiful, physical examples of His love in the Bible. The same holds true in the Testimony of His people. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Thank you for continuing to share in blog form. You are a blessing!

    1. Loved your comment, it put such a big smile on my face! Aaaand it got me all excited.?? Isn’t it such a beautiful portion of scripture? I love the part that says “shall He not MUCH MORE clothe you, O ye of little faith?” God is fully trustworthy and there is no reason to doubt! I am always reminded of Phil 4 where it says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” According to His riches in glory. That is something we cannot even begin to grasp the magnitude of! He will provide! I love how Psalm 23 “The Lord is my shepherd; I SHALL NOT want.” With the Lord as our Shepherd that is a PROMISE! No good thing does He withhold from His children[Ps 84:11> Ps 34:9-10], He is the Giver of every perfect gift[James 1:17], Sustainer of our souls[Ps 54:4], and He alone opens His hand and satisfies the desire of EVERY LIVING THING[Psalm 145:17]. He can be fully trusted in every single area of life! For that I am SO extremely thankful. The Lord is my Shepherd and I want for absolutely nothing!?? Amazing isn’t it?!?

  2. AND He clothes us with HIS righteousness!!! The blood our Lord shed for us on Calvary is our covering for sin. That never ceases to amaze me because I know by His grace the depths of the sinner I was before Christ saved me. When God looks at His redeemed children, He doesn’t see our sin, He only sees the blood. We are pure in His sight because of the sacrifice that Jesus willingly and lovingly made for us. Praise the Lord for His provisions!

    1. I love that reminder, Sheri! Thank you. “…by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:12. Clothed in His righteousness alone! ? Reminds me of a favorite from Isaiah 61:
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for HE hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, HE hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.- Is 61:10

Praise the Lord indeed! :) Thank you for such an uplifting comment. Such a blessing!
