“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-25
How was week 4 of the Spring100 for y’all?? ? I hope you are finding it edifying, energizing, and encouraging. I had a super rainy week here BUT God allowed for just enough dry weather to get my daily walking goals in!! This week I have been super blessed as I meditate on 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 during my walks/runs. We are called to run this spiritual race to win! Our prize? The incorruptible crown! This does not mean we earn our salvation or that it is won by the way we ourselves run. If so, I would be desperately hopeless! You see, in Isaiah we are told that our works or “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” and in Romans 9:1 it says, “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” Salvation is a free gift of God and righteousness is found in the shed blood of Jesus Christ[2 Cor 5:21]! We are saved by grace[Eph 2:8-10»Rom 3:24»Acts 15:11], “our sufficiency is of God”[2 Cor 3:5] and this race we run, we run by HIS strength :). “The race of life is not a field for demonstrating the force of our will to make good choices. It’s a field for showing how the beauty of Christ takes us captive and constrains us to choose and run for HIS glory. The race of life has eternal consequences not because grace is nullified by the way we run, but because grace is verified by the way we run.” The way we run this race will prove whose strength we are running in and who has taken us captive. If we are trusting in ourselves or our own good works to get us to heaven[Rom 3:10»Is 64:6»Ps 130:3], we will have no endurance and completely fail the race…. We will fall drastically short of the finish line[Rom 3:23]. But if we have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and found in Him our strength to run, we will run to win. Christ -in His great mercy and grace- enables us to run with endurance and finish the race set before us! :) Random thought for week 5. Look steadfastly to Jesus and trust HIM to sufficiently provide the strength needed to run the race set before you with endurance! He is faithful. ❤️ I will be praying for you all this new week of the SPRING100! Have fun!!
“ It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.”
Psalm 18:32-33

1.) What would your dream location be to walk? The beach early in the morning (maybe even including some fishing).
2.) What’s your favorite part about your walks? I enjoy getting some good circulation, end of day decompression/reflection, looking up at the stars, and good company.
I loved this sentence in the quote you gave “The race of life has eternal consequences not because grace is nullified by the way we run, but because grace is verified by the way we run.” How true – Thanks for the encouragement!
Your early morning beach walk sounds pretty perfect. ☺️? YES to end of day decompression being a favorite!!
I am so thankful that encouraged you. :) So grateful that it is God’s grace and working in us!!
Reminds me of a couple encouragement verses I read this morning:
-Who[Jesus Christ] shall also sustain you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.- 1 Cor 1:8
-Being confident of this very thing, that HE which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ-Phil 1:6
-For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.-Eph 2:10
Enjoy week 5 of decompressing/reflecting/star-gazing[Texas skies are the best for that ;]!! ???
I loved your answers for week 4! Thanks for sharing. :)
1. my dream location(s) : a beautiful part of France called Auvergne (mountains, lakes and beautiful flower…) or rural england…
2. Usually, it’s the nature around me. I love looking at the different flowers/trees, and I’m always amazed at God’s wonderful wisdom when He created everyting.
Thanks for sharing those verses. This past week has been rough because of an ear infection that is causing me a lot of pain (thankfully, it didn’t bother me too much when I was running with my school’s trail team… Hopefully this week will be better, health-wise !
Have a beautiful week Rachel !
Just looked up Auvergne and it is absolutely STUNNING!!? I can see why that would be your dream location. :) Gorgeous!
Yes, I agree!! Creation so beautifully testifies of God’s wisdom and handiwork!!! Reminds me of Rom 1:20 + Ps 19:1
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse-Rom 1:20
Ah, I am sorry to hear about the infection!! I will be praying this week that the Lord heals your ear infection and it completely clears up. That is painful and can definitely slow you down.? Keep up the wonderful work, Marie! ?
I hope you feel better, Marie! Being sick is no fun. :(
Blessings!
My favorite things about Spring 100 walks are beautiful scenery and fresh air. My dream location is the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon is a FANTASTIC place to walk! ☺️ I was able to hike the rim several years ago and it was such a wonderful experience. I hope one day the Lord allows you to take a hike at your dream location! Enjoy week 5 Joseph.??
The grand canyon sounds like a great choice!
Thank you for the Scripture and encouragement! My favorite place to walk is Colorado. Most definitely! I have two favorites with walking: talking with my sisters and enjoying the beautiful, spring air!
? I should have guessed you would choose Colorado! A very beautiful dream location! Aren’t sister walks so much fun?! Thank you for your comment, Sarah. Hope week 5 is filled with lots of sister talks and spring walks!!?
Colorado sound lovely!!
The weather up here in MA has been sunny and gorgeous– 70s and 80s. I love it! :) During the weekend my Mom and I took advantage of the beautiful day and took a nice walk on the Plymouth waterfront… probably my favorite part of the walks is the refreshing weather! :)
Thank you Rachel for your encouraging words… “Look steadfastly to Jesus and trust HIM to sufficiently provide the strength needed to run the race set before you with endurance!” Amen! Blessings to everyone as they run both their spiritual and physical race this week, in the steps of our Risen Savior!! :)

Scotland would be such a beautiful place to walk!! If you ever make it, I want to hear all about it. ??
Aw, praise the Lord! So thankful to hear this challenge has been a blessing for you. That’s truly an answer to prayer! ? Have fun walking week 5 ??
Way to go everyone! I really enjoyed seeing all the photos for week 4!
I also loved hearing everyone’s dream walking locations.:)
Thanks for the spiritual encouragement, Rachel!
I loved running 2 miles last week. It was a very real reminder of how much I need the Lord as my strength. I was feeling very weak physically (because I am so out of shape!) and it was making me realize my own spiritual frailty and deep need of the God’s grace and help. I also enjoy walking with my sister when I can. :)
I would love to walk in the country somewhere. Maybe Virginia. Ireland sounds lovely too. :)
Have a great week y’all!
Leah
Thank you for your comment, Leah!! Completely made my day. ??
Yes, actually physically running is a great reminder of our need for the Lord’s strength in everything, isn’t it?! I’m not naturally a runner and it’s not a comfortable exercise for me. I’ve been running a mile a couple times a week and I literally have to pray before and during that He would provide the grace and strength needed to finish the mile. It’s been a beautiful reminder that running the spiritual race with endurance will only happen by His strength! ?
Ireland would be STUNNING wouldn’t it?!! Enjoy week 5, Leah. ??
