I am always surprised to find some of the most beautiful verses in hymns left out of many hymnals! One of my favorite verses:
Let sorrow do its work, come grief or pain;
Sweet are Thy messengers, sweet their refrain,
When they can sing with me: More love, O Christ, to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!
Then shall my latest breath whisper Thy praise;
This be the parting cry my heart shall raise;
This still its prayer shall be: More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!
NEEDED this.
So beautiful. Reminds me of Sorrow and Suffering accompanying Much Afraid on her journey to the High Places…
Wow..what a beautiful song!!! <3
"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." Psalm 95:1
