“I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.”
More than those who wait for the morning! :) “Wait” tends to be a bad word, doesn’t it? It’s definitely not the easiest thing to do! Most all of us are waiting for something and in all honesty waiting doesn’t come naturally to me [I prefer moving full force forward with enough energy to move a mountain! ;] So, what are you waiting for? :) We so often turn our affections [or waiting] toward things, seasons of life, or people and those things we wait for we tend to put our hope in[Matt 6:21]. If you skip over to the Webster’s dictionary you will find 2 very beautiful definitions to the word “wait”. 1.) to remain in a state in which you expect or hope and 2.) to serve, to attend as a servant. :) Quite beautiful definitions aren’t they?! So, what are you waiting for? :) Who are you placing your hope in? Who are you truly serving? “I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.“ There is a need to daily set our affection[at least for me there is;], our hope, our sight on the Lord and wait on[serve] Him. In God’s Word, the promises for those who wait on HIM are abundant! Read→ PS 130:5, IS 40:31, LAM 3:25, MICAH 7:7, PS 100:2-3 So, today I want to encourage y’all to wait on[serve] the Lord wholeheartedly! :) I am reminded of that beautiful verse in Matthew 6, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.“
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthains 15:58
I was scrolling through my blog and rather surprised to see it had been well over a month since my last random post! Yep, time has gotten away from me. ;) So, how about a random iPhone picture post[with a few camera pictures too]? :) Fall is starting to really show itself here in Texas! Days no hotter than 82°[I know, cold isn’t it?! ;] and nights that are “chilly”, eggnog is now offered at the grocery store and[yes!] I have had my first homemade eggnog latte of the season!! Leaves crunch underfoot and slight shades of gold and red can be spotted in the trees…. Have I told y’all I LOVE fall?!? ;) Life has been busy here as work keeps me moving. God has been gracious to give us work to put our hands to and to give me time for autumn walks with the little people, choir practice with my sisters, baking, and birthday celebrations! God is good, always! OH! and my dashing brother, Abel picked me a “fall foliage” bouquet that has adorned the counter-top ever so exquisitely! Thank you Abel. :) So, enjoy the completely random photos!
Forgive the lack of alignment. Working on fixing that soon! ;)
