“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.”
John 13:16
Last Sunday my Dad read from John 13 where Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. Beautiful portion of scripture, isn’t it?! I instantly thought of Philippians 2:8, “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” The LORD Jesus Christ humbled himself, became obedient unto death, coming to earth, washing the feet of His disciples, laying down His life for the sinner and we are called to imitate Him[Eph 5:1-2]. For we are not greater than our Lord and if He came in humility to serve and lay down His life, we are called to do the same! So whether your act of service for today happens to be cleaning peanut butter & jelly finger prints off the wall ;] or literally giving your life to save another, remember “whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord“[Col 2:23-24]. :) With God there are no “greater” or “best” ranks among His chosen people, we are all bond servants[Rom 6:15-23] of the King. There is truly no greater or more beautiful a title! :] A random thought from my very random mind. ;)
“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:25-28
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”
Ephesians 5:1-2
Love reading your random thoughts. Absolutely gorgeous photograph! You encouraged me today. :)
