Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight | Weekly Randomness :)

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

“O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.”
Psalm 96:9

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart. Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word. This has been the hymn on my mind lately!! Absolutely beautiful, isn’t it?! Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise. HE is my Battle Shield, Sword for the fight; my Dignity, and my Delight. “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Honestly, “My heart overflows with a good theme”{ps 45:1}!! :) What an awesome God we Serve. HE is good and I am humbled by His goodness & unfailing love!  I am reminded tonight of Philippians 2:8:

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Well, here we are nearing a NEW YEAR!! Quite amazing how fast this last year has flown by and yet how long ago last year was, isn’t it?! :) My Christmas was truly the best yet! About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

    1. Yay! :) So glad I could return the heartwarming feeling! ;) THANK YOU!! #nightowlsneedtosticktogether ;-)

  1. I just discovered your photography, and I have been really enjoying it! Also, I love that mug (and that extra verse to “Be Thou My Vision” that everybody should sing :D). Where did you find the mug? Happy New Year from my little corner of the web to yours!

    1. So glad you found my tiny spot on the rather vast web! ;) Yes, I love that verse too but it isn’t in most of the newer hymnals. Definitely one to sing! :)
      The mug was a gift and the brand is west elm. I hope this is helpful!! :)
      Have a lovely New Year!!

  2. I’ve been really enjoying your recent posts. So cheerful and encouraging! You capture so much expression and emotion with your camera and share words that inspire.

    I loved when you said, “Quite amazing how fast this last year has flown by and yet how long ago last year was, isn’t it?!” My thoughts exactly!

    It’s been a blessed month for us, too. We got sick a lot this month, but it definitely made our celebrations simpler and more special. =)

    Have a blessed new year!

    1. Thank you so so much, Leah! I am thankful the Lord has used my posts to encourage and Im extremely thankful for your encouraging comment. :) I usually have the pictures ready for a post but often times don’t have a clue as to what I am going to write! ;) I have to stop and pray that the Lord will give me words to encourage whoever may happen on my blog before I begin typing.

      I am so glad to hear you all had a blessed month of celebration, even if you were a bit sick! I tend to think simpler is so much sweeter in most all areas of life. I will be praying your 2014 is filled full of incredible blessings as you serve the LORD!
      Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. Psalm 68:19

      1. Thank you! You are in my prayers as well.

        Oh, and I love the owl mug! The outfit that you are wearing is cute. The purple and green look good together.

        Happy New Year!
