How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?
In every condition, in sickness, in health;
In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth;
At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
As thy days may demand, shall thy strength ever be.
Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid;
I’ll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.
When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;
For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.
When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.
Even down to old age all My people shall prove
My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
And when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be borne.
The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
2 Timothy 2:19
What more can I say? The above pretty much sums it all up! :) I stand quite amazed by the beautiful truth this hymn holds as I look back over the years and I ponder His goodness toward me. I also have to wonder why 3 of the most beautiful verses of this hymn are left out of most hymnals!? :) Another week has come and gone, His strength has been sufficient, and He has proven Himself{once again} so faithful! He has been a Firm Foundation for His children, the Solid Rock{Ps 62:6}, our Sweet Refuge{Ps 34:8}, He has upheld us by HIS righteous omnipotent hand{Is 41:10}! We can go forward knowing that when fiery trials come, His grace, all sufficient, shall be our supply{1 cor 12:9}; the flame shall not hurt us; He only designs our dross to consume, and gold to refine{Is 48:10}. And when He calls us to go through deep waters, He will be with us, sanctifying us in our deepest distress{Heb 12:11}! He will not forsake us{Is 41:10}! :) “Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee aid”! It is true friends. He has done so for me. :) And if you wonder how this can be for you, seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him{Jer 29:13}! He is not willing that any should perish but that ALL should come to repentance{2 Peter 3:9}! :)
Well, almost a week without a post and images are piling up. Though my camera is still very much my “right hand”, it has been hard finding time to sit down and put together a blog post lately! :) The weather has been refreshingly “Fally” and there has been lots of work to do which makes very little time for the computer. But here I am, unable to get to sleep{most likely due to the deliciously large pieces of chocolate cake I ate} so I thought, “how about a throwing together a post with way too many pictures so I can get caught up?!” (: May this new week be filled to overflowing with the goodness of our great God. My prayer is that you all will delight yourselves in Him this week, seek HIM diligently, and “Declare His glory among the heathen; His marvellous works among all nations”! :) Happy Sunday y’all!
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Galations 2:20
Randomness from my week in {too many}pictures, some iphone photos and some from the camera! As always, hover for descriptions and ENJOY! :)
Such a lovely random post ! Those tend to be my favorites ! Your pictures are so gorgeous ! I admire your hability to take so many pictures with your DSLR. I have to admit that since I got my smartphone I don’t use my DSLR as much. Which is sad ! But I’ll try to get more out of it this coming week since I’m on vacation (since my PhD starts on November 4th ! Officially !)
I really love the picture of you with your sisters ! You can Joel he did a great job ! Seeing girls wearing skirts and beautiful modest outfits is so encouraging to me ;-)

Thank you, Marie! I’m so glad you enjoy the random posts. They tend to be my favorite posts to put together! And thank you for your kind words about my photography, all glory goes to the Lord for any beauty displayed on this blog!! Rev 4:11
Oh, enjoy your vacation!! It sounds as if you getting ready to be VERY busy. :)
Beautiful post! Just love it! Can’t help but just loving you all! :)
Ah, thank you so much!! :)
What a fun post! We’re going to make some smores soon, too. Autumn can not be passed by without a smore. (Or two, or three…)
I love that picture of Emmi napping! It reminds me of my sister. She loves to read Little Bear before her nap. All that fabric looks lovely. Oh and I love that photo of Micah with the flowers and the balloons. She looks so cute. You and your sisters have the best style. I enjoy seeing what kind of outfits you put together.
Thanks for sharing!
Leah
Oh my! I can’t have just one smore either! They are delicious!! If your a fan of peanut butter, try spreading some on the graham cracker. Just tried that for the first time last week and it was extremely good!! :)
Emmi is a book lover and Little Bear happens to be her absolute favorite. :) And thank you!! I am extremely thankful for my sisters’ sense of style. I always have a hard time choosing an outfit to wear so their talent in that area really comes in handy! ;)
Thank you for blessing me with your comment!!
That is a good idea! I really like peanut butter. I’ll have to try it.
I think our little sisters would get along well. They seem to have quite a bit in common. =)
I am grateful for fashion savvy sisters, too. When I’m getting ready for the day I can count on them to give me their honest opinion if I ask “Does this match?” or “What looks better, the black or the tan sweater?”
Thanks again for sharing.
