“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
Oh YES, He cares…
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?
Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief,
Though my tears flow all the night long?
Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye”
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks,
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?
Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.
This is a hymn I was blessed by as well this week, Rachel! Such a comfort to know Jesus knows and cares!
Psalms 84:11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
I Peter 1:6: Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Have a blessed Lord’s day, friend!
…the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly…. How beautiful. What a promise! Thank you, Sarah! I really needed to hear that today. :)
“I wait for the Lord , my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.” Psalms 130:5
Praying our great God blessings you and this day finds you resting in His unfailing love, Sarah!
My heart rests in the hope that Jesus does care…that He will never leave us or forsake us.Hebrews 13:5
I have been reading in Genesis about Joseph. The Word says that God was with Joseph and that he prospered and even Potiphar’s house prospered because of Joseph. And yet, Joseph was falsely accused and sent to prison. I have read this many, many times, but this time tears fell from my eyes. Why do the evil prosper? I know we are not to fret about that…Psalms 37…but sometimes it does seem that God forgets about us. Even Joseph after he had interpreted the dream for the butler and asked him to tell Pharoah about his plight, Genesis 40: 14-15, and the butler forgot. But obviously God had a different plan. He was with Joseph, but didn’t always let Joseph know what He was doing. We need to trust the Word, not what we see around us.
Thank you for this beautiful reminder that Jesus does care. He is building our TRUST in Him.
“All of my ambitions, hopes and plans, I surrender these into Your hand, for it’s only in Your will that I am free…” from the song Jesus, All for Jesus.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6
That is a promise I rest in also. As you said, His Word promises He will never leave us nor forsake us. What more do we need? I was so encouraged by your comment! What you said about Joseph reminded me of Isaiah 55:8, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God’s ways and plans are so much greater than our own. :)
” for it’s only in Your will that I am free” :) I hadn’t ever heard that song before. It is beautiful and so true! Thank you for sharing it.
