At the moment I am going through 2 books in the Old Testament (Psalms & Isaiah) and 2 in the New Testament (Colossians & Revelations). So, this morning I opened Colossians 3 with my highlighter ready and started to read. By the end of Colossians 3 I had highlighted the ENTIRE chapter :) One of those chapters that is just so jammed packed full of goodness I couldn’t help but highlight it all! Go read Colossians 3!
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
Colossians 3:1-3
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
Colossians 3:15
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Colossians 3:23-24
Rachel,
AMEN! I LOVE Colossians three, and this past summer while studying it, also got happy with my colorful highlighters. Then I decided to memorize the chapter!! I love how God uses His word to continually bless us especially when it is in our hearts. Blessings to you… Col 1:17-19
“And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell” Col 1:17-19
^Beautiful! Thank you, Sarah for your encouragement today. Your notes are always a blessing and leave me thinking on the goodness of God!! It is so awesome how God uses His word continually. “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” Hebrews 4:12
