To Ruth with ♡ || Video

Dear Ruth,♡

You did it!! 25+ days of toil, labor, and[yes] even a few tears. Many hours of research and diligent planning on your behalf as you collected the eggs from the hen-house and figured out whether you had yokers, quitters, or winners[and only thanks to you I now know what those three terms mean ;] and even hand turning the eggs when it was time to take the first round of little peeps off their turner! :) And then it happened, on the 23rd day when you had almost lost all hope of any hatchlings, there was a peep from the incubator as the first chick bravely ventured out of its shell! Then came another and within approximately 24 hours, you had a beautiful trio. ;) You have left this non-farmin’ sister quite astonished by your vast knowledge of the chick world! Congratulation on those little puff-balls of cuteness!!… I feel very much like a proud aunt. ;D So, without further ado, a video for you! ;)

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
Psalm 8:4-9

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Congratulations, Ruth! And you even named them. This made me smile, I love the eager little ones catching a glimpse of the newly hatched chicks. It always amazes me how quickly they get dried off and hop right to life! We had a hen hatch her own brood of ten white chicks recently and she guides them with her “mother hen chirps” as they eat around the pasture each day. God’s creation is wondrous.

  2. Congratulations, Ruth!!! Hatching eggs can be very difficult & stressful but I am glad to hear that you persevered & continued to have hope! :) Praise the Lord for His wonderful Creations!

p.s. just wondering what Ruth’s hatching fertility rate was?

    1. Yes, indeed! His creation is glorious. :)
Let’s see… she had what she thought were 20 fertile eggs and 5 hatched. 2 didn’t make it past the first 24 hours which left these 3! Not sure if all 20 were actually fertile or not?! She is hoping to have a larger turn-out next time! :)

  3. Just leaving a comment because I, myself who has a blog, knows how nice it is to know who reads your blog, even if it’s a total stranger.

The video was really interesting to me! I’ve never seen chicks hatch, and it was so cool to see the egg shake like that! Can you even imagine that we worship a Creator who designs even little things like that?! I’m really happy for your sister! I enjoy seeing pictures of your wonderful family!

Keep taking pictures and blogging! I have a question. Would you call this a strictly photography blog? Cause you do write little things on your day, and I think I’ve seen sometimes that you go without a picture. If this blog isn’t strictly photography, I know I would love if you would write about some convictions you all have. Through the pictures, we can see by how you dress modestly, or relate to each other, and live for Jesus, that you do have certain convictions and it makes me curious – I would love to hear them! Just a thought. -Megan

    1. Megan, your comment blessed and encouraged me to continue on. Thank you! Lord willing, I will be a more frequent blogger as the summer months come to an end.

Nope, not just a photo blog though I do aim to blog a photo with every post! :) The blog has become somewhat if a “journal” as I’m able to look back over the months and years worth of posts and see how God has so tremendously blessed me with His salvation. I look forward to sharing all His goodness with you and what He is teaching me through my blog!! Ps. 34:1-3

Leave a comment and make my day! ;)
