It is Well…

The last six months it seems there is a new hymn going through my mind each week! This week it has been It Is Well With My Soul. Have you read the story behind this hymn? If not, click here!! Every time I read it, I am humbled and blessed as this was a man with such sorrow and yet he wrote the words, “When sorrow like sea billows roll; it is well, it is well with my soul“! When trials come remember, “Let this blest assurance control, that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed His own blood for my soul.” :)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight”
2 Corinthians 5:7

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling.”
Psalm 46:1-3

About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20
