3 Reasons Why Voting for Romney is the same as voting for Obama…

This is a little lot different of a post than usual and it is pictureless, but I have had a few thoughts running through my head. I don’t talk much but I think a whole lot! :)
I don’t get wrapped up in politics. I don’t even know what the potential vice-president looks like.  it is so easy to get caught up in worldly affairs and forget what our real mission is on earth(Matthew 28:19). My citizenship is in heaven and I set my sites on that(Philippians 3:20 ), but felt as if I needed to post this. Obviously the country is abuzz over the next president. Bellow are 3 (and yes, I only need 3. Actually, I don’t even need more than 1) reasons why voting for Mitt Romney is the same as voting for Obama if not worse. I am not going to go into extreme detail but you should be able to get the general idea. Disclaimer, I am not a writer so please forgive my lack of grammatical grace. :)

3 Reasons Why Voting for Romney is the same as voting for Obama:

1.) Mitt Romney is Mormon. Yes, Obama is a Muslim but Romney is Mormon and from what I see, his vice-president nominee is Catholic. All follow false god’s and walk in darkness(1 John 1:6).
Catholicism, among many other issues, is a religion built upon the worship of idols, icons, and images violating the 2nd commandment. Mormonism is a dangerous cult following the false prophet, Joseph Smith. A cult that is not yet fully excepted in our country and still somewhat viewed as it really is, a cult. If Romney became president, the dangerous teachings of Mormonism would become widely accepted the false doctrine would spread throughout the country. Take a look at this video and this video to get a better view of what Mormon’s believe. (If you are mormon and stumbled upon this, please take a few minutes to read the scriptures posted and watch the videos linked above.)

Matthew 7:1: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

Psalm 82:3 “When the wicked thrive, so does sin”

Exodus 20:3-5″Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me”

2.) You may say we need to get Obama out of office to put some one who will repeal Obamacare. It is not widely known, but Mitt Romney  is the originator of the Health care plan. Massachusetts Health Care Reform, 2006. Yes, he says he will repeal the health care bill but he also will replace it.

3.) Just like Obama, Mitt Romney is “pro-choice” or, in other words, for the murder of unborn children. Yes, he says he is “pro-life” except for “special situations”, showing he holds no value to human life but rather just uses the term “pro-life” to help his stance. Mitt Romney’s sister assures everyone her brother is  “‘not going to be touching’ abortion as president” and as far as his views on abortion she says, “Mitt’s much more in the middle”(entire article can be found here.)

Psalm 82:3 “Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.”

So, with all that said, I will not be voting. As Spurgeon once said, “Of two evils, choose neither“. Yes, this might be a shock to many but when it comes down to it, the only difference between the two candidates is one calls himself Democrat and the other Republican. There is nothing else that differentiates the two candidates other than two meaningless words.
I can not and will not vote for a Godless man who backs the killing of the unborn. Above are only 3 of many reasons why I will not vote. It goes against my convictions and God’s word to promote the ungodly. As always, I post this in all humility knowing I once too walked in darkness but, by the grace of God alone, have been brought into the Light(Ephesians 5:8)!
Have any thoughts? I would love to hear them.
So, what is to be done?  First Pray! Pray that the Lord would be this nation to its knees in repentance and that out land might be healed.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Pray that He would raise up Godly men to be leaders of their families, towns, states, and country(Proverbs 29:2).  Pray for the salvation of Obama and Romney. Absolutely nothing is impossible with God! :) Lastly, be ready! These are the last days and the Lord’s return is very near! Be watchful and be ready!

1 Peter 4:7:But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

2 Timothy 3:1-5″This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

Are you a good person?

About Rachel

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. I agree with you here 100%, Rachel. Many say that they choose the “lesser of two evils” when they vote, but that is still voting for evil. How will that help our country??? This country began in a God fearing way and became great because of it. Conversely, they have removed God from every area of life, and we see the results of that – a nation rapidly sliding down the slippery slope of evil. The only way to safety is to call out to God, repent, and “turn from their wicked ways”.
    Thanks for posting this!

    1. Thank you, Sarah for your comment! Yes, we are definitely seeing the outcome of this nation’s attempt to remove God and the only hope is for the people as a whole to call out to God in repentance. Thank you again for commenting!

  2. I just read an article the other day called “40 Points That Prove That Barack Obama and Mitt Romney Are Essentially the Same Candidate”. http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-times/article.php?articleid=8521

I agree with you that 3 is enough or even 1, and you wrote well about your convictions. Most people do not understand that when you vote, you are agreeing to accept the candidate who wins. In all good conscience I can not vote either, but I have felt this way for a long time. When the arbitrary laws of a country replace the good absolute laws of God, then we are conscience bound to obey God, not man.

I also will step out and say that the “Parties” are nothing but idolatry. It seems like a big show and all a about money, greed, covetousness, name-calling, and deception.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one:There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable, there is none that doeth good, no not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher, with their tongues they have used deceit, the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:Their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction & misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3: 10-18

We all need to bow to Christ who is our King and Savior, and seek Him.
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2

Thank you for speaking out and taking a stand for righteousness and truth.
I’m so thankful we have a wonderful Savior Jesus Christ and King, and a citizenship in heaven.

  3. I also will not be voting this election since Mitt Romney and Obama both support abortion and homosexuality and thbecause I believe their ‘Health Care” Plans to be communistic. (When Romney was governor in Mass. he forced Catholic hospitals to provide contraception and sterilization.)
Paul Ryan is NOT Catholic since he supports Romney and agrees that Abortion is okay in cases of rape and incest, which going against what the Church says.
The Gospel Reading at Mass this Friday was Saint Matthew 6:33
‘Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.’ A verse which I thought was so relevant in regards to this election.

In regards to your accusations of Catholic worshiping idols…..

God’s prohibition against “graven images” (pecel is the relevant Hebrew word, which the Jews translated as “eidoloi”, i.e. “idols,” in the Septuagint) in the First Commandment (or Second Commandment, depending on your numbering system of the Decalogue) in no way prohibits art; it’s a prohibition against the making of idols, i.e., false gods. This can be the ONLY interpretation of this Commandment for any other interpretation would make a liar out of God — blasphemy! He commands Moses to make a fiery serpent (Numbers 21:8) and commands the Israelites to adorn the Ark of the Covenant with statues of gilded cherubim (Exodus 25 and Exodus 26). Solomon’s Temple was dripping in ornateness — carved cherubim, palm trees, open flowers (I Kings 6) — and it was commanded to be so by God (1 Chronicles 28:18-19). Ezekiel’s visionary Temple (Ezekiel 41) was likewise filled with statuary… And what to make of interior of the 3rd c. Dura Europus Synagogue, literally covered in frescoes (see picture above)? Or the decoration of the 4th c. Hammath Synagogues near Tiberias? From the very earliest times, Christians have used images to aid in worship.

We use images and statues in the same way you use your photography (which is amazing btw)
To remind us of someone we love. We do not worship the statue or icon but the person it represents Christ.

    PAX~

    1. Hello Constance! :)
Firs off, thank you for your comment on my photography. I have been blessed by your encouragement and kindness! Thank you!!

Secondly, it is because I truly care about your eternal salvation that I speak the truth in love concerning the Catholic Church. I will leave you with a few verses that I would love for you to read, meditate on, and pray that the Lord opens your eyes to there truth. God’s word is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. I will be praying that God opens your eyes to His truth!

It is the Catholic church’s belief that Mary “can mediate, or pray to God, on our behalf” But the bible says:
“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, ” 1 Timothy 2:5

The Catholic Church believes in the “Immaculate Conception” or in other words that Mary was sinless but the bible says:
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10

The Catholic Church teaches “Official Catholic teaching would not allow the sinner to rely by faith on the mercy of God or to believe that his sins are forgiven for Christ’s sake only. Something more is required. You must keep yourself justified by your own good works. You must merit grace and eternal life by your works” but the bible says:
“And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.” Romans 11:6
“For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness” Romans 4:3-5
“even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” Romans 3:22-26
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.” Galatians 2:16
      Rom. 10:9-10, Gal. 2:21, Gal.3:5-6, Gal. 3:8, Gal. 3:14, Gal. 3:22, Gal. 3:24, Eph. 1:13, Eph. 2:8, Phil. 3:9, 1 Tim. 1:16

The Catechism says (#824) “It is in the Church that ‘the fullness of the means of salvation’ has been deposited. It is in her that ‘by the grace of God we acquire holiness.'” and “#982 “There is no offense, however serious, that the Church cannot forgive. ‘There is no one, however wicked and guilty, who may not confidently hope for forgiveness, provided his repentance is honest.’” but God’s word says:
” And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” 1 John 5:20
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ” 1 John 1:9
“Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Mark 2:7

The Catechism (#169) says “Salvation comes from God alone; but because we receive the life of faith through the Church, she is our mother:…” but God’s word says:
“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:11-12

      In Christ,
      Rachel

      1. A.M.D.G.
        Hi Rachel,
Thank you for your kind response. I trust you mean well, and I pray that God may shower His blessings and graces upon you.
I firmly believe that the Catholic Church is the One, True, Church founded by Jesus Christ outside of which there is NO salvation. While we believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of God we believe that He gave His Church the AUTHOIRITY to interpret the Bible with infallible certainty.
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. -James 5:16
We believe our Mother Mary’s prayers to be powerful- for who is more righteous than the woman God chose to bear His very own Son?
A beautiful example of Mary’s intercession is at the wedding feast of Cana…..
“And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? My hour is not yet come. [5] His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.” John 2:3-4
As Bishop Fulton Sheen wrote, “It may be objected: ‘Our Lord is enough for me. I have no need of her.’ But He needed her, whether we do or not. God, Who made the sun, also made the moon. The moon does not take away from the brilliance of the sun. All its light is reflected from the sun. The Blessed Mother reflects her Divine Son; without Him, she is nothing. With Him, she is the Mother of Men.”
Since you take Romans 3:23 and Romans 3:10 literally, I guess that means that you also believe that when Jesus said, “This IS my body,” and “This IS my blood” the bread and wine turned into the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ?
In regards to Romans 3:23 and Romans 3:10, have 3 month old babies “sinned” (note, that being born in a state of “original sin” is not “personal sin”)? Did Jesus sin? Are the extremely mentally retarded responsible for “sin”? What about Luke 1:6 which speaks of St. John the Baptist’s parents, the priest Zacharias and Elisabeth, who “were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless”? Either they were also totally obedient to God, as Mary most certainly is, and are, therefore, sinless (i.e., not guilty of personal sin, though guilty of original sin), or the verse means something else. But what? Well, look at Psalm 14, which is the verse Paul is quoting.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord. There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous. Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge. Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
Paul is contrasting “they” — those who do no good, who are filthy, who are not righteous, who do no good — not one —- with God’s people who are righteous.

We cannot and do not ‘justify’ our sins but we trust in God’s mercy and forgiveness while trying to make some restitution for offending Him and resolving not to offend God again. This sincere resolution to avoid sin and the near occasions of sin is call the purpose of amendment and is necessary for sin to be forgiven.

God has given us eternal life in Jesus, and Jesus has given us the means to get to Heaven in the Catholic Church-the One, True, Church that He founded
“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” ~ Matt. 16:18
