I was giving a little sister a bath earlier today and a thought re-entered my mind that I have been thinking about quite a bit lately. You know, one of those random thoughts that pop into your head when bathing a sibling. ;) My thought? “In whom do you boast?” Do you boast in yourself? It is so easy in the world of facebook, twitter, and blogging to post a quick boast about yourself without even thinking twice. It can even be just as easy to do so in a personal conversation. So, are do you boast in yourself or do you boast in the Lord?
“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” Galatians 6:14
“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?”-Psalm 8:3-4
“The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.”-Psalm 5:5
Make God your boast! He alone is worthy of the glory!! :)
“Thus says the Lord:
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the Lord.”-Jeremiah 9:23-24
“My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.”
"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20
