About Rachel

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20

  1. Yes I did create this(wasn't quite sure how the resolution would be on other computer screens, so I am happy that it is looking good on yours!) Thank you!
New King James Version. This is a verse that I think on daily… it is so exciting/humbling. In Him we stand redeemed! :)

  2. Hi Amy! Thank you :)
I used picture-it(Very simple program and easy to use!) Created the background on picture-it and found the fonts from various free font sites!
I occasionally have designs for verse layouts pop into my head and can't stop thinking about the them until I doodle the design on my computer… This design just happened to come to me at 2am and couldn't sleep until I completed it ;)

  3. How fun! I have plenty of those 2am's where I find myself creating or writing something that just popped into my head :)

I emailed you regarding your comment on my blog, by the way.

  4. wonderful reminder of God's continual protection! thanks for posting.
p.s. I have a giveaway at my blog, if you'd care to enter! (ends tomorrow.)

  5. You are such a blessing Rachel. I love your enthusiasm to create in God's creation! I really like your new blog design too. Very fresh and clean. You have such a great eye for this stuff! I'm going to have to check out picture-it too!

  6. Rachel, if you don't mind my asking(I blush), do you use Photoshop to edit your photography? I'm just starting to snap pictures as a hobby and am in the “thought” face of how and with what to edit. I use Picnik now, and am thankful for that program but I'm looking for something more… I ramble…. :)

  7. @ Simi: Thank you! I check-out your blog last night :)

@Timberlyn: Thank you! You won't believe how encouraging your comment was. Came just when I really needed it! We serve an AWEsome Creator and I am constantly amazed by His goodness and the the beauty of His creation!
    “Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Selah
    Our God is the God of salvation;
And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.” Psalm 68:19-20

Definitely check-out picture-it. Mine came per-installed on my computer. I have been using it for years :) Great for quick little projects!

I don't mind you asking at all! :) Since I shoot all images in raw I use Lightroom 2.7 to edit and convert. I started using lightroom almost 3 years ago and before that I was using picnik. I would definitely suggest lightroom for you. I have used Adobe Photoshop CS5 but really didn't like it for the type of editing I do! Lightroom is somewhat of a large investment but definitely worth it!

Hope the above is helpful! :)

  8. You are a blessing Rachel, keep creating and teaching us about loving the Creator!

Lightroom… I have heard of it but wasn't sure what the difference was between it and Photoshop. I hear people talk about editing their photo's with actions in Photoshop. So much learning I have to do!

Leave a comment and make my day! ;)
